There's a new girl in the small town of River Bend, Montana – a pretty little thing from the city who doesn't know her heifers from her steers. Or her good guys from her f*cked up ex-Marines.

Her name is Tia Kinsley and she's nothing like the girls in River Bend. Proud, smart and gorgeous, she's a fish out of water with a habit of getting into sitcom-style scrapes. Not that I have any interest in rescuing her from those scrapes...

The last thing I came out here to the middle of nowhere to do is fall in love. Two brutal tours in Iraq left me broken and haunted, unfit for human companionship. Besides, I've got everything I need -- my livestock, my property and my faithful dog, Beau.

I've got rules, too. No relationships that last longer than a single night, for one. No local girls. No entanglements.

Until one hot summer night when I catch a fleeting glimpse of something familiar in Tia's dark eyes. I know that look. I see it every day, staring back at me/b> in the mirror. Hurt. Loss.

So it turns out maybe I'm not the only one in pain. Maybe the world doesn't revolve around me. And maybe -- just maybe -- being with her is like feeling the rain on my face after years in the desert.

I'm not fit for any of this and I know it – not fit for love or kindness or the sweet tenderness with which she treats me. For Tia's own good – and even as her breathless little sighs still ring in my ears – I can't let her in.

But I can't seem to stay away, either, and the closer we dance to the cliff's edge, the tighter I hold on...

Not your usual Bad Boy, this 70k standalone romance is a good old-fashioned love story – with lots of steam, no cliffhangers and a heart-melting HEA guaranteed!

I'm sure tons of people will love this book. I'm sure even more than that will like this book. For me, however, it was just okay. 2.5 stars rounded up.

I wanted to like the MC's far more than I did. Tia was vulnerable and soft, which was fine, but she was also very young and slightly immature. Not immature like irresponsible, just inexperienced with life and allowing intense emotions to cripple you. Experiencing the death of a parent myself I can totally get where she's coming from and don't mock her pain or the pain of those who relate to her. Not at all. It's just an opinion about how young she really is and how that colors everything else she experiences. I do think that with the other consequences she deals with she finds a sense of herself, what she's capable of and willing to deal with, and for that I find her admirable. Overall I think she's just young and while that's not necessarily bad, I just don't find myself drawn to her. If she was written as maybe two or three years older with a bit of schooling or life experience under her belt before her world shattered I would find her a lot more appealing.

Dallas was okay. He was a hot jerk, yes, we get that. And every single reaction from every girl in this book says this in various ways. Okay, fine. And then through Tia we see other facets. I'm sure that's the point but I get such a shallow view of him that I almost don't see other sides to him until nearly halfway through the book when I realize just what I've read. I just don't think I know him as much as I want to especially since we don't really learn about his past until quite late in the story.

Aside from Larissa I'm so very glad that the only drama was the stuff between Tia and Dallas. The resolution was good and the ending was so very sweet. By the end I think Tia has a good sense of what's important, same with Dallas, so I'm on board with a future for them.

Overall, the foreboding one liners were distracting as well as alluding to something major and heartbreaking only to have the result be not as horrible as I was led to think. Other than that, it was a quick read with a sweet resolution. I read and willingly reviewed this ARC from Hidden Gems.

SKIP IT-
I'm sorry but this sweet story was a snooze fest. I literally had to force myself to finish it and I skipped throughout the book. This story has been told many, many times over.

Tia is on the vulnerable and naive side of things. The things she has been through and dealt with make her character admirable.

Dallas was the kind of guy you wanted to not like but, you do. A military veteran who has battles of his own. As Tia gets to know Dallas her heart softens. One things leads to another as she comes to see him to apologize for the way she acted.

Could someone showing up on Dallas’s door step destroy everything that have gained?

Loving Cowboy romances I was sure this would be a great read and it was. This book did not disappoint. A new to me author as well and I will be reading more of her books.

I received an ARC and I voluntarily reviewed.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of the book.

Oh so good!!! The characters were real and likable and genuine. I especially love that it was an interracial relationship but that was not the main focus. The way Dallas and Tia met, interacted, and fell in love was so beautiful and heartfelt. This was my first book by Imani King but I will definitely be looking for more! Anytime I need my dictionary while reading a book, particularly a romance, is a wonderful thing. Not only was the plot entertaining- it was well written, articulate, and thoughtful. I just loved it!

Books With Babies Are The Best

I am voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book, The Cowboy's Baby by Imani King.

I really enjoyed reading this book. I couldn't put it down till I reached the very last word. Imani has a way of capturing her readers attention and holding it tightly from beginning to end. This book is apparently a "spinoff" of Imani's The Corbett Billionaire Brothers, which is a 5 book series about brothers that find love and their own HEA. All great books you don't wanna miss.

After suffering a devastating tragedy, Tia has no where to go but to live with her great- aunt & uncle. Doing her best not to fall apart from one day to the next, Tia tries to live life as normal as possible. On one such occasion, she is doing some shopping in town and has a "run in" a very handsome, very angry Dallas. He is a military veteran that is fighting a daily battle with inner demons, he picked up during his tours in the Middle East. There is an immediate spark of attraction between the 2 but both work hard to hide it. After a couple more run ins with Dallas, Tia learns that he is a veteran and her opinion of him softens. Feeling bad about how she was towards him, she goes to see him and they end up in bed together. They start spending time together and feelings begin to grow. But then someone from Dallas's past shows up at his front door and could destroy what Tia and Dallas have together. Is there any coming back from what is revealed? Does Tia misunderstand what she sees? Is Dallas interested in a real relationship with Tia or just a short fling?

Tia is a nineteen year old girl who has just lost both of her parents in a horrible car accident. Her parents finances were bad so she has lost everything and has to move in with a great-aunt and uncle that she had never met before. She is struggling greatly with her grief. One day she sees a gorgeous horse in town and starts to pat it. The owner tells her to leave him alone because the horse is tempermental. Dallas the horse owner is well known for being mean and standoffish to people.
Dallas comes from a wealthy family and was in the military. His time there has changed him especially the death of his best friends. When his family refused to be considerate of him, he moves away to become independant. He goes to this ranch he inherited but keeps to himself. He is social only to his animals so when he sees a city girl patting his horse he gets upset.
Dallas and Tia have a few more run-in until Dallas sees how badly Tia is hurting. He feels bad for being so uncaring but isn't sure how to reach out. When Dallas invites Tia out to see his animals, she takes him up on his offer. When she is with him,he allows her to grieve and is there for her. He is also a great distraction from her grief. Tia helps Dallas want to be around people again.
This is a good book about coping with grief and learning to carry on. I love how strong Tia was/ I voluntarily received a copy of this story and this is my review.

The Cowboy's Baby
A Small Town Montana Romance Corbett Billionaires Book 1
by Imani King
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This is a Wonderful Interracial romance. I am a voracious reader and I'm happy that I got to read this great story that's a hot read and I have to say I loved the way the story unfolded! I enjoy reading the books Imani King writes, She is a favorite of mine to read. Her books makes you smile and laugh out loud. This book is extremely sensual without being overtly erotic. Imani King is clearly very imaginative and I enjoyed reading about the relationship which grows between these two characters. The characters in this book is smart and gorgeous. The attraction and passion is there between these two characters, so they are bound to fall in love. The story is focus on Tia Kinsley and Dallas Corbett. Tia is new to the small town of River Bend, Montana, she is Proud, smart and gorgeous. Dallas isn't your usual Bad Boy, he did two brutal tours in Iraq that left him feeling broken, haunted and unfit for human companionship. But the chemistry between Tia and Dallas is blazing hot and captivating. I enjoyed everything about this storyline. The characters are well developed and written. This romance is a good old-fashioned love story, it's fill with lots of steam, no cliffhangers and a heart-melting HEA! I highly recommend this book. I voluntarily reviewed this book, because I enjoy sharing my thoughts with my fellow readers.

Loved Dallas and Tia. Dallas is a recluse whom keeps to himself and only has his animals as company his horse and his dog Beau. He is ex marines and saw some horrible things that caused him to cut off everyone in his life. This is one man that can use a true friend. I felt for for him and hoped that he could get through his issues. His family comes from money but the way he's living no one would ever know. He only has meaningless hookups twice a month and one of these hookups does start some trouble for him when she lookups his family and contacts him a year later. You quickly see her intentions and they are not good ones.

Tia moved to River Bend from Chicago after her parents were tragically killed. She moves in with her great aunt and uncle. I also really felt for her. She is really dealing with s great lost and now she is in a town and only knows two people in it. She meets Dallas when she pets his horse at the grocery store and they get into an argument. They are both hurting and you're like maybe these two can help heal each other. If Dallas only lets Tia in. This book had me from the beginning. I laughed, I cried and hoped that these two get the happy ever after that they both deserve.

This is a book you do not want to pass up. I'm not regretting that I got it and will definitely read it again. A definite must read.

I laughed and enjoyed the antics of these two main characters. I love when humor comes out and makes you laugh out loud while reading. My daughter had to ask me what I was so entertained with, so I read her some of the passages (when she's petting his horse (stallion), opening up the fencing and letting the momma cow out - and a few others - all because the baby cow (calf) had gotten out, when he invites her out to "see his animals" (like a 6-yr-old), and when she sees his cows (steer), etc). We have been to Montana and didn't always share the correct lingo then (or now), so that made us cackle even more. I liked how Tia was just herself, straight-forward, with no pretense. I liked how he was able to slowly let down his own fences around his heart because of her kindness. He was kinda clueless at times, but that made him endearing all the more. I was so glad his "like clockwork" every two weeks visit to the bar in town ceased once he saw her upset outside. I was ready to kick him if Brittney went home with him after that. Good boy, Dallas, lol. I really liked how Amber and her friends took Tia in and allowed her to have a circle of acceptance and friendship. Not many girls do that nowadays, so it was nice reading that. Overall, this was just a fun, feel-good kind of book that was a joy to read.

There’s a very good reason most romance novels start with the guy in his arrogant, beastly mode before the love of a good woman turns him around and makes him a perfect husband (and book boyfriend). Simply put, it works. We gals love a good bad-boy story. But every now and then, someone will take this tried and true formula and, with their excellent writing skills, elevate it to a whole new level. That’s what Imani King has done with The Cowboy’s Baby.

You already know the plot (we all do) so I’m just going to tell you that this author really knows how to write about the deeply emotional feelings of surviving a tragedy and how to find the beauty of life again. This story was so much more than just a love story, though the love story was exquisitely presented. This is a story of two people finding a reason in each other to move past their pasts and embrace a future worth living. The small-town setting was believably portrayed and the secondary characters were worth getting to know. And in case you’re wondering, the love scenes will set your Kindle on fire. Seriously hot stuff. These are characters that will stay with you for a while, like old friends you want to keep forever. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

City Slicker new girl meets mysterious Cowboy hottie which is a great storyline for a romance because there is great chemistry when opposites attract...but in this case, it isn't immediate and there lies the fun. Dallas Corbett is the aloof, mysterious bad boy who seems to only come to the town of River Bend Montana to do two things, shop for can goods and screw tourists. He's 100% prime beef and every home town girl's dream but he isn't interested in long term relationships UNTIL he meets Tia Kinsley who just moved to town following the death of her parents. Everything she initially does like "petting" his stallion or trying to "rescue" one of his new calves but somehow ends up letting out most of the herd should anger him but it just sparks his interest. Both Dallas and Tia find that once they get past their initial "hatred" of each other they find they are the missing link that is needed to heal their troubled past. There are plenty of twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat questioning whether there will be an HEA to the story so go ahead and one-click this one to find out, you won't be disappointed.

I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I enjoyed this book a lot, I enjoyed both mains, I enjoyed the writing style, I enjoyed the author, I enjoyed the story, it was not at all what I was expecting given the whole "cowboy" title. I didn't really get cowboy vibes, yes he has a ranch and rides a horse and has a cute dog but we don't get much cowboy talk otherwise, and I was cool with that, so if you're expecting a heavy on the cowboy aspect of a book I'd look elsewhere. This book had its fair share of drama too! And that reason is the only reason I'm giving this book 4 stars instead of 5 for the fact that Dallas didn't do what any normal sane man would do in those circumstances I mean, really? In the end it all works out but how can any person be that stupid that's all I must say on that subject matter and the only reason this book gets 4 instead of 5 stars. And the end was delightful and so was the character progressions together. I get why the drama unfolded but still, a little brain in a mans head would be nice, and I don't think he's that dumb and to write him that was irked me a bit.

Dallas and Tia were both struggling to get past tragic events in their lives. Both had moved to a new town but one had decided that he was better off alone, while the other was trying to figure out were she belonged. After an awkward introduction to one another, these two would never have thought that maybe where they belonged was with each other. Tia and Dallas soon find out that first impressions are not always what they seem.
Tia and Dallas were more alike than they could have ever imagined. Both were suffering and needed someone to help them heal . I loved these two together. In the beginning I felt Tia may have been a little to young and vulnerable to know what she wanted, but at times she proved to be more mature than Dallas, who was a couple of years older. These two seemed to compliment each other which them great for each other, and also made for a good love story. This a pretty good read with a little drama and a good amount passionate encounters. I give it 4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.

A wounded heart needs love too!

Even grumpy cowboys needed love and grumpy horses too. Both Tia and Dallas' hearts were shattered from loss, Tia's from the untimely death of her parents and Dallas from losing his best friend in Iraq and seeing man's inhumanity to man. With each other, they felt a kindred spirit and totally understood what each had experienced and how it affected their behavior. Dallas' way of self healing from PTSD WAS to isolate himself on his farm away from people and only satisfy that itch with one night stands from woman only passing through town. That was until he first set his eyes on Tia. She awakened a part of him that he thought was long dead.

Once certain situations were resolved from a year old 3 hour dalliance with an unhinged tryst, they were able to work on their own HEA, mending their hearts and souls as well.

This was an enjoyable love story about healing hearts. There is life after a tragic life event. Imani wrote a well plotted story that kept me interested from beginning to end.

It was good over all. The sex scenes were pretty solid. It was nice how he immediately responded to her and knew she made him feel something different. It was pleasant how he approached sex with her with no inhibitions and did not focus on condom, seems this wasn't important to him because he felt she was meant for him.I liked the connection between the two main characters and how he softened to her. But I did not like how 'stupid' or plain ignorant she came off. She never once thought of a condom and then acted like she was in denial and simply could not get pregnant. If the year was 1800 that attitude could be more believable. But this day and age, every kid almost has the internet and would be freaking out a good bit more at the possibilities when her period didn't start.
I did not enjoy the one time fling showing back up randomly. And the ending of the book with the wedding extra fell flat of build up or excitement really. It wasn't a bad read, but not the best in this genre either.

**My thanks to the author for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**

This book failed to grip me at the beginning and it was only towards the end that i found myself enjoying the book.

Tia is a nineteen year old who recently lost her parents and has moved to this part of Montana only because her great aunt and uncle are the only relatives that she has left.

Dallas is seven years older than her and has retreated fro the world and his rich family after his time overseas in Iraq.

Tia is the only person in the three years that he has felt tempted by anyone and they soon find it hard to resist each other even when obstacles are put in the way of their happiness.

Both Tia and Dallas has experiences a loss that the other can relate too and they find themselves compelled towards each other with Tia often seeming more mature than her years.

A decent read, just a bit of a slow start for me.

I received this book for FREE TO GIVE MY TRUE & HONEST REVIEW

Beautiful love 💘 story of 2 misfits, I'll call them, coming into this small country town in Montana. 26yrs old Dallas, ex marine who has to get away from his un-understanding family of his trauma & 19yrs old Tia, who's moved into her Great Aunt & Uncle who she doesn't know after the traumatic death of her parents. Dallas is a recluse & who the town folk don't know much about except he's ignorant & picks up tourists from the bar once or twice a month, that was until Tia goes to him to apologise, but where things change for both of them & quote drastically in a very short period of time. Even having a strange earth changing situation for Dallas, which could've been an even more life changer until Dallas turns up after being a few weeks away. And I loved the way things do a turnaround for them but which could've been a completely different story....
Recommend this book & any other work In any King does, even though this is my first piece of work of Imani's that I have read

Awesome modern day cowboy story. I enjoyed this book. Dallas served two tours in the military in the Middle East. His loss was so great that he moved away and cut himself off from the human race. He owns his own ranch in Montana. Tia graduated from high school and soon after suffered a tragic event. She ended up in Montana living with her great aunt and uncle who she wasn't even aware existed. Tia was suffering from traumatic depression but tried to move forward. She kept running into Dallas and he wasn't friendly. Suddenly, they're thrown together and both their lives change dramatically again. I liked how this Author worked through the issues each main character dealt with. I received a complementary copy of this book and chose to write a review. I look forward to reading future books by Ms. King in the future.

I received this book as an ARC for an honest review. This book was a fun and quick read. Tia has moved out to Montana from the East Coast after her parents die in a car crash. She's just 19 and has lost everything, and goes to live with relatives. She encounters Dallas Corbett in town, and is met with his well know attitude. Dallas has some PTSD from his tour in Iraq, and moved to Montana to get away from people. This is the story of two, damaged by life people, if you will that are able to heal each other and have a HEA. I'm not saying there aren't bumps in the road, as what would a romance novel be with out them? :) I notice now that this is the first of a series and I will look for future books as they come available

War and the aftermath are all too common today. So many of the scars are not visible to the eye but are internal and they are the worst king. Dallas a war veteran and cowboy was one who was suffering from his war experience which hardened him. Tia, a city girl suffering from losing her parents in a horrible car crash takes refuge in this small mountain town with her great aunt and uncle. She is like a fish out of water in the wilderness and keeps running into Dallas and causing him grief in more ways than one.

A wonderful love story with lots of humor and emotion. A story of how two people help each other heal their wounded hearts. A great read with a good plot and great characters. Well written and fun to read. I voluntarily reviewed an arc copy of this book.

Struggling to overcome her grief, Tia moved to Montana to live with the only family she has. Struggling to overcome his time over seas, Dallas moved to a Montana ranch to start over away from humanity. Instant attraction blooms between the two, but their first meetings aren't great. Will Dallas be able to overcome his past, to form a future with Tia? Will Tia be able to overcome her grief to let Dallas in?

Loved this story! You get a man who is standoffish and doesn't like people and a girl who is struggling with her grief. Both were able to understand the other, when outsiders couldn't. I love how Dallas was ready to show what she meant to him and was willing to go all out for it. Great book!

I fell in love with this story for more than one reason!! First reason being that my girl, Ms. Imani King, wrote it!!! Secondly, I could really relate to the main character, Tia, being a Philly girl myself and losing my virginity at a late age myself, I felt like Imani was reaching out to me in a lot of ways!! Except my first born wasn't a girl, I could still relate to how finding love, and all of the other life changing moments can lead you into a life full of love that you never imagined could be possible!! I know this is the beginning to an awesome series!!! One in which I can't help but wonder if it's connected to the handsome Corbett brothers in some way. I guess I'll have to keep reading to find out!!!

Montana becamea beginning for them both it just time for them to recongnize it. . .

Dallas had a hard time adjusting back to life and accepting what had happened in his life to see the prize that was set before him. Tia had suffered much to be so young. Together the both find more than just a comfort the the find home. And finding home means you have to suffer a little, step back sometimes, and make some painful decisions.

I am looking forward to Austin's story. I found that his one spoke to me. It was sweet yet simple with a little flavor. I enjoyed the secondary characters and their fierceness. I did very much love that the aspect of small-town life was not the dominating factor in this romance.

I really enjoy a good cowboy and military romance book and this one has a ex-Marine cowboy - what more could you ask! Dallas is a broken man having witnessed things in the Marine's he is trying hard to escape. He has hidden himself away in Montana behind fences where it is just him and his animals...that is until the equally damaged Tia turns up and turns his life hysterically upside down! This is more than a typical romance. It's a well-written tale of loss, grieve and despair and of two kindred spirits fighting to hold on to life....and love. I enjoyed every minute of this book and look forward to reading more by Imani King.

This is my first Imani King book and I greatly enjoyed it. Dallas is a man that has moved to River Bend, Montana to get away from everyone and everything after being in the war. He feels that nobody understands him and that life is easier alone.
Tia has just lost both her parents and now she is living with the only family she has. When she meets Dallas and he gives her attitude for petting his horse the sparks fly and they have no idea what to do with it.
This is such a wonderful love story with heart in it. Loved it

This is my review and how I see it. The author has provided a free copy of her work in exchange for an honest review. Author Imani King brings us another Corbett family novel. At first I had my doubts about this story; however, as it played out and the characters started speaking to me I became a little more vested in how their story would play out.

I was very disappointed in the male lead that he just took the woman's word at face value rather than demanding something his attorney assisted on. Despite the misunderstanding and the differences between theses two. Hopefully, love will prevail and the baby by the other woman is not his secret baby.
