Frontier Law follows the exploits of Texas Ranger Frank Sirocco when he rides into San Ysidro to investigate the murder of two colleagues. Up against a deadly band of killers, gunfighters and renegades, Sirocco will need all of his wits and guns to survive this one. Fortunately, help arrived from unexpected sources. A short extract is given They had him dead to rights. There was no doubt they were going to kill him. Sirocco braced himself for the bullets. They said you never heard the one that killed you. All eyes were on the lawman. Nobody was watching the padre. He suddenly screamed "no", and all eyes flicked in his direction. In the same moment the padre's hand flicked the holstered gun from Hendrick's holster, and he slid it along the polished bar towards the Ranger. Sirocco didn't hesitate. He was already moving. His first shot blasted Pringle off his feet, the shock of the moment plastered all over the killer's face. Sirocco's second shot blasted the lanky gunman backwards as that man got off a shot, but his bullet was aimed at an empty spot. Sirocco was moving in a tight crouch and his shot was more measured, deliberate. It was delivered with deadly accuracy. A gritty western and book one of the Frontier series.

I really enjoyed this it really shows how hard life was back in the old days when there wasn’t a lot of law and people taking the law into their own hands right or wrong. When the man with the most gunmen won and more or less took over the town with no one willing to take him on. The audio starts out with them killing the sheep and their owner from there it just goes downhill for the law that is until two rangers come up missing which brings more lawmen to town. Frank is a very smart man but he does make a few mistakes which gets him in hot water. Can he get out of the mess he is in and get some much needed help or will he be taking his last breath.
Mr. Broussard did a delightful job from his narration to the sound effects. His character voices were really good, you know who is talking and what emotion they are feeling. I don’t usually like music and such but he did a wonderful job with them. It was pleasant and not over powering. There were no background noises, no volume changes, if any breaks were taken I could not tell. His male voices were strong, tough , his female ones were feminine. His performance was great making me buy into the story and giving me a highly believable listen. I look forward to listening to more of his work.
The cover is a little misleading making one think this might be a romance. There are some women characters which are a great addition to the book but there is no romance. This is a book based on a lawmen cleaning up a town and the trouble he gets into. It is very entertaining, pretty fast paced, exciting and suspenseful with gun fights, killers, outlaws. The characters are likable for the most part, no doubt you will be cheering for the law. This was short, sweet and to the point, a listen that I enjoyed very much. This is a book that the whole family can enjoy listening to for some family time.
A great ride through the west with revolvers, ruffles and a saloon. The balance between action and emotion is extremely well balanced. A wonderful read.
