Quentin Bowman’s younger brother, Jim, is kidnapped and held for ransom by a cold-blooded killer and his equally inhumane girlfriend. However, once the pair gets the ransom, they plan to kill Jim instead of releasing him. Rowenna (Wren) Heyes, a teacher on summer vacation, finds Jim and manages to get him and unknowingly the ransom money to her Jeep then heads for the Bowman ranch. By the time Wren gets there, Jim is unconscious, and Quentin believes Wren is one of the kidnappers. Jim awakens long enough to tell Quentin who Wren is, but by then she’s bitten by a rattlesnake while tied up in a shed. The kidnapper sends men to the ranch to retrieve Jim, and kill her. Quentin and his Apache blood-brother, Eldon Two Feathers, thwart the attack. That’s when Wren realizes this scarred rancher may be her only hope at staying alive, but can he protect her against the psychotic kidnapper’s vengeance?
