Maddy (Kitten) headspace.
Wow! What kind of a messed up place must that be!
SPOILERS!
No - I really mean it!
I have no idea what it would be like, existing in a household where I'm basically locked in 24/7, needing to give my body over to Mom's biker gang leader boyfriend, who makes me call him Daddy as he rapes me.
Then, not being able to take any more, after enduring years of abuse and rapes, I kill the Bastard and run away, leaving my drugged out Mom behind.
Now, in return for protection against the gang that will hunt me down for revenge, I'm setting myself up to be the Love Toy for a rival Mob Leader - Billionaire who expects me to be his little pet "Kitten."
Nothing weird here at all!
Just another weeknight hanging out with the neighbors.
So the deal is, Wolf (our Hero) will take Maddy in and protect her. At the end of one year, if she wants out, money - a passport & a plane ticket to Paris are all hers.
IF she wants out.
He's betting that he'll win her over. That she will be happy to stay with him.
As his Pet!
Why not? He's done it before.
Then there is the sex.
Brain numbing - teeth rattling - clit exploding SEX!
And for the first time in Maddy's life, she's getting pleasure from it.
Even the Kinky stuff. Maybe even because of the Kinky stuff!
Okay, so here is the rub. I'll admit it. I'm a guy.
So I'm guessing that my levels for action are a little different then fro others.
Making Wolf seem a bit inconsistent to me.
One moment all Steel & Stone... Leader of a Mob Family.
Next thing, he's doubting his decision making. Hoping he's not pushing his Pet too hard.
Yes - I know. It IS a Romance story and Yes, Wolf does need to care for Maddy.
But Wolf also needs to man up and be more Sons Of Anarchy or the Godfather when it comes to his day job.
I did feel his love for Kitten. She IS everything he was looking & hoping for. Still, he was rather leading his crew off into a suicide run for the Big Finish.
He is armed with "Secret" knowledge his Kitten gave him. Yet he was still running into a waiting Death Trap with little or no plan worked out.
How many men is he willing to throw away all in hopes of saving his Pet?
And if I were his crew, I'd be asking if there is any more to the plan than to shoot a lot and try not to die!
Yes, for me looking at the ending as I would an Action Film, I found this rather wanting.
The Bad Guys are holding ALL of the cards They really could have used Kitten to force Wolf into some bad situations.
There was a lot of wasted opportunities to really ratchet the drama up to a point of Oh My God!
Other possibly wasted places would have been with Law Enforcement.
Or, the lack thereof.
Murders & shootings and yet not a single Police car even swing by.
Certainly, could have added to the Drama by having Homicide looking around for Kitten.
Or adding to the ticking time clock of Wolf trying to outfight the Bikers and get away before the cops show up.
One thing I had not expected... I really found myself worried when Kitten disappears.
Yet care I did. Just as I was rooting for Wolf to pull off a rescue.
I may not have gotten the action I was looking for, but I was honestly happy with the HEA.

Disappointing
This was a disappointing story. There really wasn't much of one to it. A single conflict that was over in 3 pages. No real drama that wasn't an obvious manufacture. We had two very flat uninteresting characters. Our girl had a personality for all of a day before becoming a complete doormat. And I say that as a submissive! She was a pet, made to crawl and ask to eat. Be pranced naked in front of a room full of strangers so they could leer at her I guess. There was a lot of debasement. He is a sadist and she is obviously a masochist. It's not my thing, but if it works, but it's something I would unveiled to know before going in. Now this wasn't the worst of it for me. I hated the way they constantly talked about themselves with their pet names in the third person. Kitten want Master to do this? You want Masters blank? Kitten wants your blank. Get the idea? They aren't even people to themselves. He wanted to kneel eye to eye with her and she refused to let him because she respects him too much to let him kneel before her, but she must always kneel before him? I understand a power exchange, but these two didn't exchange any power. She really had none, despite the litjtle bit he seemed to let her have. Yeah, this was just not my idea of an interesting or healthy bdsm relationship. But I only took off one star for that because it might float some folks boat. The rest was for the flat characters and uninteresting boring story and another for that weird third person dialog that kept popping up and making me want to shoot them both!

Maddy hasn't had the easiest of lives despite her young age. her Dad who was the President of the Red Rock Riders but he was suspiciously killed. His number 2 married her Mum but he wanted Maddy. The years of abuse lead to her killing him and on the run. She managed to get to Ciro also known as Wolf and he agrees to protect her for 12 months as long as she will be his "pet" and ultimately, wear his collar. Maddy who is known as Kitten by Wolf finds her life far better than she ever imagined and grows to love Wolf as he does her. he doesn't want to think what will happen when the year is up. He wants her for always. This story has it all: love, love, romance, shifters, a gorgeous hero and a damsel in distress, and finally a HEA. This was a compulsive read that I did not want to put down until I had reached the end. But now I want to know about others such as her friend - I'm sure there is a sequel in this book maybe please?

Ciro “Wolf” Amari he is my protection he is the Boss of the Amari Crime Family for the ones who want to do me harm you see have you heard of the Red Rock Riders well the president married my Mother but he wanted me so I killed him it was more than that but you get my drift so what does Ciro want in return for the protection he wants me to have a collar on and be his kitten for a whole year but I don't want to but I have no other choice but to agree with him and be his for the taking so hot and sex steamy read loved it so good and dark and light oh boy funny two. GREAT BOOK. 1ST MAFIA BOOK I'VE READ.
I normally steer clear of Mafia books. This was free so it could hurt. I'm glad i did. This was a great book. Yes it was dark, but healing and loving at the same time. She needed someone so badly to love her and he needed to love again. They push each other to their limits. He is very patient when she needs it and strick when she disobeys.
I hope to see a story with Tony & Lainey.
Glad I read. Maybe more mafia books will be in my future. Thank you Cassandra for opening my eyes. 💗

Loved!!
I loved Maddy and Wolf they were so hot from the beginning to end. I loved how she was so broken and he put her back together the way she needed to be out back together. By becoming free again by saying yes to him and letting him over power her in the bedroom but he only did it when she say yes Sir because she was giving him her okay to do what she allowed him to do. I loved the safe word he gave her it fit them so perfectly.

I usually don’t like the MC/mafia books, but I liked this one. Probably because it didn’t really have too much of that stuff in it. This is one of those books that definitely needs to be longer. It ended just when it started getting really good. I’m not sure it has a sequel or not, but it would be very cool if it did. This title is free on KU and $0.99 for purchase on Kindle.

Really loved this more than I thought I would. I love how much the H cared for the h right away. Super sweet and steamy. Wish it was a bit longer because I really loved this couple! Or at least an epilogue of them married.

So all in all I loved this book. It was fast moving though. Got spicy real fast. My only problem, the ending was abrupt. No epilog, nothing just bam "and they lived happily ever after". I've never raged at the end of a book until this one.

Maddy kills her stepfather for having sex with her then runs to his biggest rival. I wouldn't exactly call it dark maybe shaded with some bdsm. The story was good but needed more depth.

Underwhelming. I found all the kink elements pretty vanilla.
