Did Not Finish

I started the book on a flight, and read three chapters (12, 2, 3). At first I thought I might like the author because seemed like he could be a intellectual co-belligerent. Not to be too negative, because there is a lot of overlap in mentality. But in a way I kind of hate some aspects of his personality. He was a hardcore communist in his youth, and is the kind of salient self-promoting personality that pushes his self-interest in life, which end up hitting our attention because they're the ones writing the books, get the grants, and know how to play teachers out against another at student-teacher conferences. It also seems he was quite the government handout leech throughout his life, not really a libertarian personality. Sometimes the measured thoughtfulness that would make for a more conscious approach is not what can push itself to the forefront of out attention economy.

Interessantes Buch, aber zu wenig über seine Persönlichkeit.
