High Society shenanigans

Another good read but wrapped in hurricane mode. The relationship between Ben and Poe is a pleasure as it unfolds.
When a frat boy comes into the tavern it's not long before tempers fly. He's been dating Tia whilst engaged. Her brother is outraged and fists start flying as the men get into it. Later on Tia asks her to to meet the cheating fiance as he has asked to speak to her. They get there only to find her brother standing over his body. Not only has he suffered a head injury but he has also been run over. With Shawn as the main suspect and with pressure being put on the police to arrest him, it looks as is Shawn has no defence although still proclaiming his innocence. Things get worse as a hurricane has them in it's path. As they are evacuating they run across the frat group having a hurricane party. Will they find out what really happened?

Sangria & Spirits is Book #3 in the Tell-Tale Tavern Mysteries!

Edie Allen is the manager/barmaid of the Tell-Tale Tavern. It's in her blood, it's home to her. The tavern has been in her family for over 100 years, but when her mom took ill, her nana and granddaddy sold it. Now Ben Sullivan is the semi-new cute owner. Edie and Ben got off to a terrible, rocky start, but they're all good now! Actually better than good, they've started dating!

Tia Johnson and her brother Shawn are a close-knit family, but sometimes close is too close! Tia works as a server at the tavern and her 'friend' Beau came to visit her. Her brother doesn't like the present 'company' she's keeping. Would any guy be good enough for his sister? After a loud and heated argument in the tavern Beau ends up dead and Shawn is the prime suspect!

All the evidence points toward Shawn and it's a case of outside city 'class' versus country 'locals'. Can Edie help her childhood friends? Will the law do the right thing or buckle under political & financial pressure??? And what's happening with Edie's abilities???

This is a cozy paranormal mystery for 13+, with easy reading, murder, paranormal activity and a hint of romance!

Can't wait to see what the ladies (Edie and her best friend, Officer Jessica Cho) will get into in Capers Cove in Book #4 Tombstones & Tonic!

Three and a half stars

Edie's power is on the fritz, which is unfortunate since her friend Shawn can really use all the help he can get! The murder he's accused of isn't quite as straightforward as it appears; even after the solution is presented this reader still has doubts. The bigger surprise is the seeming lack of support from Shawn's mother and his sister's utterly inexplicable behavior; even Ben with his jealousy issues has Shawn's back better! This series has loads of potential that's not quite met (the Edgar Allen Poe angle is completely wasted) and is further spoiled by poor editing; at least the core characters are likeable.

The Tell-Tale Tavern Mysteries Series is fun nothing heavy, nothing graphic, these are simple fun stories. I was a little disappointed in that the spirits weren't around like in the first two books. Overall it's a fun read. I read on Kindle Unlimited.

Right and right

Much better. The story dynamics were much more clear. The story stayed on point and it was very clear that all needed to be looked at more.
