The Alterant is a time travel novel which takes the reader into alternate universe just like in the book. You travel with jason hunt with excitement. There are so many twists you cant even expect. The narration is so gripping, all emotions will capture you. Its a thriller with scientific touch and with little sarcasm :)

Not at all a fan of time travel stuff, I feel it's complicated and I don't watch/read entertainment content which is portrayed in a complicated manner. But this book is so good that not only I completed this book in one and a half days but I am also willing to start reading books of time travel and other contemporary genres. Thanks to Deepak. Such a clear and lucid writing and I didn't even felt bored in any chapter. I am willing to read his "INCESSANT" book too.

Wow!! Excitement, and lots of “WHAT HAPPENS NEXT”.

Imagine a scenario where somebody had developed a time machine that could send you back in time by a small amount of a moment. Almost every human being must have thought about this and wondered “What happens”. The author took this very idea of travelling on its ear and came up with “The Alterant”.

To begin with, the moment I saw the cover with those intriguing eyes, I was sold. Being a huge sci-fi fan, I gave it a look and I'm so happy I did!! It was an astounding story, the turns and twists were unfathomable. The Alterant brings a lot of emotion, anticipation, excitement, sadness and questions. A good story of any sort needs to have characters that demonstrate real people – Jason, Julia and Mandelbaum characters are developed so well that you actually get into these characters.

IMO, the sign of a good author is someone who can tell a story, which challenges you and influences you to think long after you've completed the book. Deepak as done exactly that with his captivating story telling. And at the same time, the author has got plenty of wit. There’s an episode in the book where I was seriously wondering “WHAT HAPPENS NEXT” and the author throws B****** C***** at you. That was brilliant.

This has got all the qualities to be made into a TV series.

Benefit of hindsight is a wonderful thing... In life, every human being would love to go back in time and change at least one incident that could consequently change the entire course of the future thereof. We all dream to have that one opportunity to change the past. Precisely what Author Deepak Karamungikar has embarked on, though with the protagonist of the path breaking Novel The Alterant, Jason Hunt, doing the unthinkable for you and me.
The result is simply mind-blowing, it is not as simple as we think, one change and there are multiple unbelievable possibilities.
A must-read unputdownable that transports your mind into a realm of fantasy and science fiction and an emotional connect with the characters.
Get into the shoes of Jason Hunt and live your dream. Go on a journey you always wanted to embark on, go forth and discover the beauty of this wonderful fiction!

The Alterant is definitely a page turner, a book that you could complete in one-go (like I did), never boring. Yes, it has all the ingredients that make a good book. What makes it special is that Deepak has used one of the most mundane thing to knit a detail-filled story. What takes it to the next level is the honesty in sticking to the story without any extra masalas (like in many films).
For me, the clincher is this: he made me read the book in utmost alertness. He made me read the book without that general leisureliness in which I read a novel. For the fear of missing something, if I just skim through the story. It was a fulfilling book, intellectually, if I could say so.
A perfect Hollywood movie material, this book is. I hope it gets made into a movie. I would definitely not miss it.
