En este fanfic, Abram (Neil) llama a su tío en lugar de seguir huyendo tras la muerte de su madre. Esta decisión lo lleva a adoptar el apellido Hatford y a trabajar para su familia, desviándose así de su trayectoria en el Exy y de los acontecimientos originales de la novela.
Por otro lado, Andrew nunca conoció a Neil en la universidad y, como consecuencia, dejó el deporte profesional. Al aceptar ir a Alemania a visitar a su primo para descansar, conoce a Abram, y sus caminos vuelven a entrelazarse.
Me gustó mucho este fanfic; fue interesante leer a Neil y Andrew en un contexto más centrado en la mafia y completamente alejado del Exy.
Disfruté mucho cómo se desarrolló la historia y la incorporación de todos los nuevos personajes.

actual rating: 4.5 stars
i actually first started reading this immediately after finishing way down we go and dropped it after a few chapters because it just wasn't working for me, but i picked it back up a few years later and it was like a whole different story. definitely darker than even the original series, more twisted and with more sickening plots and scenes, but still sweet and funny and loving enough. while still crazy long, the pacing improved from the author's previous fic, even if the two were being released simultaneously at one point. again, a staple for the andreil fans imo.
