When a dinner party ends in death and hospitals
Awesome. She's moved back to the small village she grew up in after losing her soulmate to the war and becoming jaded and hurt in spirit from being a doctor on the front. Now she's hoping for recovery.
An invitation to a dinner party for the proposed new Historical Society leads to illness amongst the guest and the death of the host. Was it an accident or murder? When a secondary cause of the dead man's poisoning is brought up, the authorities know it was murder. But who?
The son who couldn't marry his sweetheart, the gold digger, the lovelorn suitor or the father of the sweetheart who has a long running feed with the dead man? Can she work out who between attacks, curbing a young boy's desire to play pranks and a Sergeant who rushes to make an arrest?

I enjoyed reading about Dr.Hallie Malone so much I can't wait to see what happens in the next storey, what challenges she's to face. There is a marvelous support of caracters to keep Hallie company while she finds her path in her new life adventures.Liz Turner has a unique flare to her writing giving an old time charm blended with murder and mystery. A class act all the way, always lieveing her readers wanting to discover more. 🙄😏😊

Historical mystery with realistic characters
1948, people adjusting to life after the war. A man is killed but it was supposed to look accidental. Hallie, a physician with an interest in forensics, steps up to investigate when the medical evidence is not what it seems. Nice characters.

Great start to a new series
I have read at least 8 books by Liz so I just had to get this series as well. I was pleasantly surprised by this book. I love the time period it takes place in. I really like the characters. I can't wait to read book two.
