I think this book was a good start to a spinoff series. I liked Darius' story. Though I saw what would happen from a mile away, it was still entertaining enough that I wasn't bored. The story felt short and had I not immediately been able to begin the next book, I'd have felt cheated out of more! There were some errors that did not break the book for me. I do not recommend this book for those under 18 due to adult content. The adult language was minimal. Though this is insta-love, I like that we are given reasons behind this for vamps and shifters. I want to read the entire series.

Finally we get the Vampires stories. This one is about Darius and Carolyn.
If you like VA Dold's Le Beau series you'll love the League of Guardians series.
It's not necessary to read the Le Beau series because they are all standalones but we are introduced to the Vampires in that series. So for a more enjoyable experience I would suggest you read them too.
The next book is Etienne's book FINALLY!!!
The only downfall with this book is it ends at 86% which is a bummer.

Nope! Poorly constructed, incomplete sentences abound in this short story. It actually reads more like an outline for a story. The plan was good but there is absolutely no emotion here, no character development and no rising action. I cannot comprehend all the good ratings on Amazon.

This is the first book in this series by V.A. Dold. This book is about vampires, shifters, witches, and more. Long ago a group of people got together and decided to hunt witches. They called themselves the Guild. They are still around and are now hunting witches in Savannah, Georgia. The League of Guardians are vampires that swear to protect witches that the Guild would otherwise kill. Darius Drummond is one such vampire. Carolyn is one such witch that the Guild would like to take out. She can see the future, but she can’t see her own future. She goes to a seer to try and gets the answers she seeks and is direct to Savannah. Carolyn is one of the witches Darius is tasked with protecting but he is unprepared for finding him soulmate. Now he has found her, and he may lose her. He will protect her above all else. I love V.A. Dold’s other books and picked this one up because of that. This one didn’t disappoint. I can’t wait for the next book in this series. I can’t say enough about this book or her other books. I highly recommend this book and her other books.

Great beginning of a new series, League of Guardians. We have a team of vampires, arriving in Savannah Georgia, to protect a witch from The Guild. The Guild is a group whose agenda is to find and destroy all witches. The witch, Carolyn, has special powers and with the Guild having killed so many, every witch is in danger. We meet an old friend, vampire Etienne, from the Le Beau Brothers series, whose in charge of the team and sends Darius to protect Carolyn. I don't do spoilers so you'll have to read yourself all they have to go through to fight the evil that is trying to get Carolyn. Surprises along the way; fated mates find each other as well as lost loves saying goodbye. I believe we have another series winner and I hope we will continue to run into old friends. I recommend this book to lovers of the paranormal and magic, with excitement and sensual thrills along the way.

Love this author !!! I have read her other series the Le Beau series and fell in love with them from the start and this series is no different and has me wanting to read more. In this book we have Carolyn who is a witch and can see everyone else's future but cannot see her own and Darius who is one sexy vampire who is sworn to protect witches from the guild. You can tell from the very first time these two meet that they are meant to be together and that Darius will stop at nothing to make sure that Carolyn is protected. Overall this story is very well written and is a must read ! Now I am anxiously waiting and can't wait to read the next book in this series !!

I've read several of V.A Dolds books now, and she is one of my go to paranormal romance authors. When I received this signed book as a gift from a friend I was keen to get started and read about her vampires for a change. This book was book one of a new paranormal series and it was a good opening. The story was appealing, the characters were likeable, and even some of them we've read about in Dold's Le Beau shifter series. I always like when books bring in characters from other series that we've loved.
If you like vampires, paranormal romance, and stories that hook you in from page one, this is a book for you.

A great start to a spin-off series from the author’s popular Le Beau Brothers series. Witch hunters in the Guild are out to kill witches, and our main heroine, Carolyn is targeted – she goes to see a Seer whom she trusts. Darius, is a vampire in the League of Guardians, who protect witches from the manhunt. Darius is assigned to protect Carolyn in Savannah.
I’m not giving anything more away, this book is a fast and furious read and even though I haven’t read any of this author’s other books, it’s definitely put them on my radar. Reviewed by Cyrene

Witchy cool start
A lot of action, the downright viciousness of the bad guys was a bit shocking. The love-at-first-sight being acknowledged right away by both Carolyn and Darius gave them time to learn about each other (could have been more of that). Really happy with the developments at the end and glad all the girls are moving. Can't wait for the next one, Etienne is such a WOW!

Vamps n Witches N Shifters vs the Guild
Familiars N unfamiliars come together in Savannah during All Hallows Eve Ball for dancing, falling in love, and protecting the uncovened witches as the Guild is determined to kill every witch there. Little does the Guild know that they are in for the fight of their lives. I can't wait for the novel to follow that moves most of the group to New Orleans and what Etienne's life change will be.

A fantastic read
Darius thought he never gave a second chance at love. He had sworn to protect the witches but didnt realize one would be his......if he could save her. Carolyn could see the future but not her own as she felt danger she was also told she would fine her true love....... woukd she have a future.
VA Dold just keeps bringing you amazing stories. Fantastic characters and emotion that has you all over the place. I look forward to reading more of her amazing work

sorry didn'r even get to 30%. Though they did warn you from the start that there would be an instant connection for the leads, I still found it too unrealistic (even for fiction)

This is the first paranormal book/novella that I've read about witches and vampires who are soul mates.
Carolyn Soucek is a witch who can see everyone’s future. Her destiny awaits her in Savannah, Georgia. Darius Drummond is a vampire sworn to protect witches from the Guild. The Guild is an order of witch hunters out to kill Carolyn and other witches.
Carolyn and Darius meet her first day in Savannah and immediately recognize that they are soul mates and fall in lust and everything that goes with it. there is erotic sex but not over the top. Darius tells her the Guild is after her and several other witches. He also tells her that he and other vampires and other paranormals have investigated them and are protecting them.
He also told her how it would work between them as soul mates. She would eventually become a vampire after sharing blood three times. She agrees to it. He told her how to keep herself safe and to not go outsides. If course she does and the Guild get her. The question now is Will Darius and others get to her before the Guild burns her to death in a pyre? Will they share blood three times?
Even though this is not a cliffhanger, you are left with many questions that are certain to be answered in the next book in the series. I'll read one more to determine if the series is worth reading.

I don't know if you noticed but these books are stealing the life outta me. I'm so tired of ranting about the same bullshit every time knowing it doesn't change anything. But I need to keep track of the books in this shit box set so eh.
This is shit. It's a Fifty Shades of Grey level of fantasy for 80% of the book, with the characters meeting and proposing to each other the same day- and undergoing a transformation that'll have them stuck with each other for eternity. Both are sooo hot and he's sooo rich and of course there's like 11 mentions of sexual pleasure every time these fuckers blink because didn't you know this is porn not "Magical Romantic Comedies Serial Killer Princess" whatever the fuck that means.
then the heroine is lobotomized in chapter 8 were after having her room ransacked almost 2, the second time while she was there and being warned that people were after her, she ignores her bodyguard's warning of "stay inside you insipid cunt" and wouldn't you know she gets kidnapped tortured and set on fire. but of course she doesn't get any scars bc what the fuck does "actions have consequences" mean to a cardboard mary sue?

Good premise but we get the TSTL act.
Liked how this started and the characters in it, some of whom were met in another series.
Was very enjoyable until the 50% mark, then we get so much silly unbelievability going on.
I just get so annoyed that we get TSTL scenarios.
Caroline is told, DO NOT go in the shadows, DO NOT go outside, so what does the heroine do, steps out into a garden and gets abducted and is basically practically dead.
And all this without using these major powers she supposedly has as a witch, I understand her new vampiric strength was negated by the silver but still.
At this point I didn’t care anymore. I like my heroines to have brains, attitude and skills. Especially as Caroline didn’t even call for Darius in her mind.
And for her to survive like she did, as I said, unbelievable.
Book ends at 82%
I will be reading the next book as I have always wanted to know more about Etienne since first reading about him in the LE BEAU BROTHERS series.

It is now the vampires turn to discover their fated mates! The Guild has been around for a long time massacring witches and other super naturals. Etienne and his crew have to protect seven witches they marked for death. Carolyn is a witch who received instructions to head to New Orleans because her vampire mate is awaiting her. She meets Darius and it is instant, they know they are mates. They do two of the blood exchanges immediately. While away from her room, someone had broken in and trashed it and left behind a souvenir. So, she moved into Darius’s room. At the ball, Carolyn is abducted by the Guild. Can Darius and Etienne save her? She will be facing death! Will he lose his soulmate? Will they have a chance for the happily ever after? This is a spin-off series from the Le Beau brothers about the vampires we met in the books surrounding the brothers and their mates. I received this book as an ARC and am leaving a voluntary review.

I managed to finish it. Oh goodness that was a slog - like a badly written direct-to-TV Lifetime romance. The dialog was hack, the descriptions drawn out. I swear there were two sections completely repeated.
Good concept and Ms. Dold has put enough words to paper in a sequential order, so the story made sense.
If only the characters weren't cardboard. I don't mean 2-dimensional, each character does have depth. I'm talking about wooden delivery and beating every emotional moment until it is dead.
Here is an example from the Book 2 excerpt included in the book:
"I will open myself to the possibility of love. I promise." It was a promise he had made to her in Savannah. He never broke a promise. Once he gave his word, he was honor bound to keep it.
Could have been said in two sentences, not four.
And this is true of most of the story.

Carolyn & Radius book1
I enjoyed the concept of the story, in a few places the story repeated itself so it confused me because I thought why??? Why repeat the same line again? Because it was an accident or because I not that literally correct?
Anyway
Darius a vampire loved and lost he's wife many years ago, but here stands a beautiful leannan that captivates him that no other has since his wife's passing.
Carolyn is a modern woman she is also a witch & also darius's soulmate before they can finish their bonding process Carolyn is kidnapped by the Guild - witch hunters.
It's touch n go for awhile but with the help of new family and friends Carolyn can pull through.
The story quickly ends but it's kind enough to give you a taster into the next book Etiennes story

Another Engaging Series from Dold!
V.A. Dole has done it again! The paranormal and supernatural are nothing to fear....unless, of course, you mess with their soulmate. Book 1 of the League of Guardians series sets the perfect stage for more suspense and battles against the evil seeking to destroy the paranormal community. My favorite vampire, Etienne, is central, as are Roses brothers, who were turned in the LeBeau Brothers series. This story focuses on Darius and his soulmate and the danger she and her fellow witches face from the Guild. There is a romantic link between the two lovers that is palpable. One can only hope to find love this fiercely intense. On to book 2: Etienne!

A fantastic story that reaches out and grabs you from the first word! I wish I could give it Ten STARS!! True love conquers real evil! I loved how these courageous men are willing to put their lives on the line to save these innocent women! He finds his true love, his forever mate! Although he must watch her suffer unbearable pain. Can his love save her? Will she hate him for the decision he made to save her life? What choice did he have, he couldn’t let her go? Full of unpredictable twists and turns, unexpected surprises and fantastic heroes, all searching for their true love! Will these men find their true loves?

I loved this story more than I can say. If I could give it more than five stars I would. This series is a spin off of the Le Beau brothers wolf shifter series. And it is amazing. I love New Orleans as the setting. And the characters are so remarkably well written. The storyline is fabulous. I can't wait to read the next book in this series. If you love vampires, especially sexy gorgeous vampires, and other paranormal beings you will love this series. This author is a gem.

Ms.Dold has written an,exceptionally book. Darius is a member of the League of Guardians. He's to guard the witch Caro!yn for the Guild. But he finds more than he bargained for. Caro!yn is attracted to this hunk of man candy. Will he be able to protect her. Will she survive the evil stalking her and get happily ever after. A must read.

Does no one use a copy editor anymore??? Omg this was so horribly edited I had to force myself to finish it, just cuz I can't leave a book unfinished once I start it. Pages we're literally out of place!!! You'll be reading and characters who had already left a building we're suddenly back at their restaurant table having a conversation that was hours earlier... ridiculous editing!! Put some pride in your work and freaking proofread!!!! 😡😡😡

Interesting new series
This author has great potential. This book has the framework for excellent world-building. The book has good action and plenty of good old fashioned romance. I would love to see this author develop her mythos and her characters more deeply. I hope we she continues she will do both and further her characters personal development as the series progresses.

This is a great introduction to the League of Guardians and what they do. I love fated mate stories and it's nice to see one for vampires. With Carolyn and Darius being soulmates their connection is hot. Darius has his hand full protecting Carolyn from the Guild and making her his, that he calls on his friends to help. There is some suspenseful moments in this book that kept me guessing. Looking forward to the next book.

What a great book! Darius & Carolyn are soul mates. But a vampire & a witch? I wasn't sure how that would work out but it does. There is plenty of action & a lot of return characters from the Le Beau books too. It was a great read & I can't wait for Ettienne' s story in book #2. Meanwhile another book to add to my read again pile.

Loved It!
I have read the LeBeau series and so glad we are getting a spin off series. Darius and Carolyn’s story was great. It took hold from the beginning. The characters showed true feelings, even though they are supernaturals, and they excitement just kept on building. Now, it on to Etienne! Sure hope there is more to come.
