I had a rather short area here telling a little about me but then I had more than a few people ask me to expand it so... here goes. LOL. I'm a full time home 'supervisor' which is a nice word for saying I'm a housewife. I'm married happily, I met my dream guy 20 years ago, and we have 4 children. I live in Southern California and I can't function without iced coffee. I believe in romance, I've always been a daydreamer, and I'm a HUGE fan of books, always have been.

No, I didn't know that I always wanted to write. I inhaled books as a child. I read entire series (Pippi Longstocking, Nancy Drew and The Hardy Boys, Trixie Beldon, The Borrowers, etc) in a matter of days at a time. By the time I was nine years old I had an adult library card where I visited often. I moved on to John Saul, Stephen King, Richard Laymon, Agatha Christie, and then found romance. I was hooked. I wrote poetry in my teens and then moved on to short stories. My first book was started after I read a real bomb of a book that ticked me off with really horrible characters and a plot that was shabby at best and I thought... I could do better. LOL.

I wrote my first book which will probably never see the light of day in the early 90's. I wrote a series of a few books from it. I'm a series fan! I kept writing for fun, wrote MANY books and then in 2009 I decided to try to get published. I wrote my first Sci Fi romance and Ral's Woman came to be. I submitted it and with a little tweaking, Ellorascave sent me an acceptance letter. It was kind of a 'Cinderella' experience for me. It's been a terrific ride so far and I'm really happy that I finally had the time to commit to writing full time. It's a dream come true.

Blackie & Eve
Cyborgs meet New Species.

Eve and her sister Danica are traveling in space. They are hiding the fact that they are canine hybrids. They are the only two left from their littermates after they helped the Cyborgs escape. The Cyborgs abandoned them and their sisters were terminated. This happened a long time ago, but Eve has never forgotten Blackie, the last Cyborg she saved.

Blackie and his fellow Cyborgs will rescue the two sisters from the space pirates. Blackie will recognize Eve who all these years he thought she was dead. But Blackie is Eve’s true mate and she will not let him go, ever again….because canine hybrids mate for life.

Lots of misunderstanding, some hot scenes between Blackie and Eve (although the sex scenes were less than the previous books) and the expose of a huge betrayal.
Some Cyborgs have to pay for their wrong choices and Blackie needs to get a promotion.

I really enjoyed the book and I hope Danica and Gene’s story will come soon.

Blackie isn’t so bad!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 💚🖤💙❤️
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘
World building: 🌏🌍🌎
Character development: 😠😚😁😍
Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙
Narration Type: Solo Narration

The heroine: Eve - she worked in the cyborg termination centers and did her best to help and rescue the cyborgs, letting them out of their cages and giving them codes to transport vehicles. Though there was one that affected her more than any of the others. She planned to meet up with him again someday but never did. She was caught by the guards and severely punished for her part in freeing the cyborgs.

The Hero: Blackie - he is a cyborg that was thoroughly tortured by humans. They exacted revenge for his defiance. He refused a direct order by the guards, to step inside the large room that he knew was an incinerator. While he was down, a woman came to him showing compassion. She released him and helped get him out of there during the rebellion in which the cyborgs escaped. He never forgot that woman.

The story: Blackie escaped and hid out on earth with other cyborgs until they could all leave. He searched for the woman he knew as Hellfire, but she wasn’t on any of the ships that left earth and he assumed she died. Many years after the rebellion and the cyborgs escaped from earth to form their own home on a planet called garden. Blackie still wakes up from nightmares about the time he was tortured and escaped. He still thought of Hellfire and wondered if she died or was an older woman on earth now.

When Eve and her sister are out in space in a cargo ship, they get into a fight with some space pirates, their ship is no longer functional and stranded, when Blackie and his compatriots board the ship to see if there are any survivors. He finds Eve, whom he knew as Hellfire, but she has changed. She doesn’t look any older and there is a good reason for that.

This was quite a surprise and different than the other books, most of which have human females as heroine’s. The last book had a heroine that used to be human but was now part cyborg herself, but this one has the heroine as something completely different. I liked the characters, but didn’t really like what these girls are. Blackie was a bad guy in previous books, but he changed in this one and felt remorse for what he did. I liked him much better than I expected.

This book was told in dual points of view via solo narration and was narrated by Mindy Kennedy. She has a great voice and I have listened to this entire series back to back and have not tired of her voice or narration style. Though I do like dual or duet narration much better than Solo, I have come to really enjoy Mindy’s narration.

I continue to be a fan but I've got to say that I was pretty disappointed with this one. The insta love was overwhelming. There was absolutely no character development at all. These two had only met for about 10 minutes 50 years or more ago and I'll buy that they remembered each other with fondness and regret for what might have been. But that their relationship picked up as if they had been lovers for years and had only been separated months was a bit much to swallow. They were so totally in love so immediately. I was left thinking 'hey! Where'd my romance go?' Aren't romances supposed to be about a couple falling in love?

So what was left to tell? Well there was some stuff about bad guys trying to keep them from reaching the cyborg planet and trying to kill the girl. The problem with this part of the plot was that it was all resolved so quickly and only with the help of others that there wasn't a lot for our hero and heroine to do.

The whole book was mostly tell not show and I never felt in the middle of anything that happened.

Haunting Blackie is book eight in the Cyborg Seduction series by Laurann Dohner.

This novel introduces us to a new species one that was on Earth with the Cyborg’s and what happens to them when they help the Cyborg's escape is heartbreaking.

Danika & Eve are canine hybrids. They are the last of their species and hiding the fact that they are canine hybrids. They end up in a predicament and are reduced by Blackie and his fellow Cyborgs.

It’s an insta-love story with very little character development. Blackie and Eve met over 50 years ago during the escape. Each thought the other was dead. Their relationship picks up as if they had been lovers for years instead of being separated. It was quick and all consuming. The sexy times where nice, but the fast romance didn't feel like a romance. It just was.

Haunting Blackie gives us lots of misunderstandings, exposure of a huge betrayal, and lots of hot scenes; between Eve and Blackie.

Disappointing. The story felt rushed and disconnected. Also mixing a sort of "new species" meets cyborg in th story just felt wrong on so many levels. I was more interested in the secondary story of Danica and Gene. Eve and Blackie's story felt incomplete. I am a huge fan of Ms. Dohner's work but this fell flat, giving it two stars was being more than generous.

2.5 to 3 Stars

This started off strong and then got boring really fast. I felt that Blackie and Eve had no chemistry and no connection. And the plot was really weak.

This was definitely my least favorite of the series and inherently forgettable. Hopefully Danica's story will be better.

Really enjoyed this one too! I had to just forget the Blackie I knew from the past (because I REALLY hated him) and just read this one on its face. Aside from one pet peeve, I loved the totally acceptance of their mating from the first moment. I also loved that he fought hard for justice for her people. It was a great addition to the series.

Laurann Dohner is one of my all time favorite authors so of course I pre-ordered this one the second I could and I waited up till it downloaded and started it the second I could. Laurann Dohner has the ability to transport me to the worlds she creates, she always writes books that I finish too soon and then I have to sit and wait for another. This book was no exception, Mrs. Dohner made a character that I and I'm sure everyone else couldn't stand not only likable but loved. I loved the twists she added to this series, and the progression of this series hasn't slowed or dragged, but has only gotten better.

Blackie was saved by a woman he never forgot they had planned to meet up again but she never showed and he never saw her again. Now years later Blackie isn't the cyborg she saved. Eve risked everything to help the cyborgs escape and she was punished dearly, all of the cyborgs mattered to her but there was one who was special and she planned to spend the rest of her life with him but when she met at there designated spot the shuttle had left.

Neither Blackie nor Eve are the same. Eve and her sister are bounty hunters that only have one another, on one of their missions they are attached by pirates, they try their best to defeat the pirates but are boarded, and Eve gets the surprise of her life when she see's blackie. Now that they are together neither wants to be apart no matter what but the cyborg counsel has been keeping a secret one that they don't ever want out and Eve is a threat that they can't let live. Now Blackie will risk everything so that he and Eve can stay together and keep the happiness they have found together one which neither thought possible.

I really liked this book the twists were great and the characters even better. We get old characters from previous books and new ones that make me want book 9 now. Blackie was a great hero Eve WAS IT for him and I loved that neither of them had a problem making their feeling plain towards the other there was no beeting around the bush with them and that was refreshing. I love a possessive hero and Blackie defiantly was possessive but I absolutely loved how possessive Eve was towards Blackie she was willing to kill to not only keep him but to keep him safe and I loved her for that, she was all around a great heroine.

This books leaves off at a great spot making us want more, giving us a glimpse into book 9 but not torturing us with any cliffhangers and for that I really appreciate Mrs. Dohner. I know most are fans of the New Species series (which love) but I must admit that I love this series just as much. Laurann Dohner is one of the authors that I will buy anything she writes when it is release all other books will sit on the back burner and I adjust my reading according to her releases. Finishing this book made me want to read this series again, and hope that we get book nine very soon.

I liked hearing about how the Cyborg’s escaped Earth in the last 2 books.
Blackie wasn't a character I was really looking forward to but his story most defiantly needed to be told.

Eve and her sister helped Cyborg’s escape and in return, they lost a lot. So I don’t know maybe because of that I was surprised at how much trust Eve had in the Cyborgs but her sister had a healthy dose of what the heck.

Blackie and Eve had the connection from the get-go, their relationship bloomed fast and bright. I was happy for them but I want to know more about the sister now. Or even Sky. But it doesn't look that there books are coming any time soon and that’s ok I guess.
On to the next!

Again Mindy is awesome for this series she does a fabulous job with these characters.

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

Oh Danica and Gene are going to be fun!!! This installment wasn't nearly as intense or angsty as the others, but I have a feeling Danica and Gene will be lol I think it was a good break from the raw edge the books normally have. We are intro'd to a new race! They give birth to 'liters' hehe I do think Blackie got off a bit easy for being rapey.

I love this series!

The stories are always the same, but still each one is so interesting! :D

Here we have a lovely relationship without conflict and without all the usual "I love him/her, but I'm afraid" stuff.

Both Blackie and Eve know from the start that they love each other. There's never any doubt. And they act accordingly.

I appreciated that very much!

This is the eighth book in the Cyborg Seduction series. While it does work as a stand alone many characters from previous books are mentioned or have scenes in this book. The series is best read in order.

Blackie has been working for the council for many years. When the shuttle he is on boards a freighter after it battles pirates he sees a woman that he thought was dead. Eve helped Blackie and other cyborgs escape Earth when they had been slated for termination but she and her unit were left behind. When she sees Blackie again all her feelings for him emerge and she stakes her claim.

I loved this book! It is so different from all the other books in the series. I can't say too much or I will be giving away an awesome new twist but I love how each book is unique and all the characters are different and have their own issues to deal with. With Blackie and Eve they didn't have too many personal issues, in fact they got together really fast and stayed that way. However, they dealt with a lot of outside issues that put strain on their relationship and their lives. Eve's sister also has a pretty large role in this book as well as Blackie's friend Gene. We also see several characters from previous books come into play towards the end and it was nice to see them again.

Blackie was a jerk in several books so it was nice to see him humbled and fall in love. When he and Eve are together the chemistry is great. I loved how he never changed himself but did make some concessions for Eve that worked out to both of their benefits. Eve is a fighter and doesn't let life's disappointments get her down. She has had to overcome a lot of things to get where she is and Blackie respects her and allows her to be herself as long as she isn't putting herself in danger.

I am always interested to see how Dohner is going to work around the rules she set up for the society she created. The cyborgs have few women so they usually share the women. So far none of the Cyborg series couples have wanted to do that and there is always an interesting twist that Dohner uses so that the couples all stay monogamous. I have to say that I love that about the books. I am also enjoying the way the cyborg society is changing. I expected more change after the last book but since Blackie's book takes place mainly off planet, maybe we just haven't seen it yet.

We are left with a teaser for the next book and it will most likely take place primarily off planet as well. I love this series and I can't wait for the next book to come out. Each new book is exciting and I can't wait to read it.

So this is book eight in the 'Cyborg Seducation' series. It really isn't a standalone. Not that I have read them in order, originally I think I skipped to book two or three. By book eight, as this is sic-fi all the world building is already done. It would cover a lot of ground to go over it all again. No problem. I have read a few books in the series so I didn't mind jumping straight in.

Blackie and Eve meet while both are being detained in testing facilities, Eve helping Blackie escape. They have a brief encounter that stays with Blackie for many years to come. No, no quick sexy times just a 'hey your handsome, wait for me on the escape shuttle.' Eve never makes it to the shuttle. Decades later, Blackie is amazed to run into Eve again. She hasn't aged a day. It comes out pretty quickly she was the result of splicing canine and human DNA.

So apparently Eve had some 'link' to Blackie when he was a captive, but that was never really explained or explored. The upshot being that she had identified him as her 'mate'. Yes, really. Cue, Eve is instantaneously in love. Blackie finds out straight away and is more than fine with it. Of course. There was no getting to know you, stage. I normally love that part of romance. It's not enough to just tell me they love each other I want to know why. How do they complement each other?

The usual prejudices abound and of course Blackie and Eve have bad guys to face. My big issue was that 'Haunting Blackie' seemed to be written on autopilot by Laurann Dohner. She wrote almost this same story in 'Redeeming Zorus' which I really enjoyed. She used all the same main concepts from that book in 'Haunting Blakie' to much less effect. This was an expensive book when I felt I had read it before.

Laurann Dohner is a good author she has proved it time and time again. Her books when good are action packed and hot. I just really think she could use a bit of new inspiration at this point.

Haunting Blackie had a few surprising plot twists in there. The heroine was strong and she had some funny moments. A good cyborg finds his mate hot read.

I don't like the theme of betrayal and lies. Ever. So for me, that subtracted from my enjoyment of the book.

Overall, if you like Laurann Dohner and have read the previous books in the series you'll like Haunting Blackie. I do not recommend reading Haunting Blackie first, you'll be lost. Go back and read the others in the series first to really appreciate Blackie's transformation.

It looks like Gene, the cyborg, will be the star of the next book. The ending certainly set it up that way.

Why, oh why did you give Blackie a personality transplant?? The character in this book barely resembles the Blackie in other books in the series. If this is an example of where Dohner is going with the series maybe its time to wrap it up.

Fabulous ...
Eve surprised me by her skills if I can say, and Blackie was so cute when he realize he was in love with her.
I liked the story, showing some cyborg having human flaws.

I also like having some news of cyborgs and their women we already read books.

Now I'm waiting for the next book !

I loved this book. From start to finish, it had me hooked and I could not put it down!

There were new things that were introduced in this book and they slipped right into place perfectly. The canine units was pure brilliance on Laurann Dohner’s part! They were a great addition to the series and their existence opened up so many other possibilities! I loved it!

Overall, I highly enjoyed this book and I can’t wait to start the next installment!

Favorite Quotes:
“I need you.”
She stared into his eyes and cupped his face with one hand. “You have no idea how much I want you too. I’ve never rescued anyone who tempted me more, Handsome. I’ll make you a promise. I’ll meet you when we leave the planet in three weeks. We’ll finish this then. Don’t you dare hook up with anyone else. It’s going to be me and you, okay? We’ll be bunk buddies.”

“Tell me when we’re on Titan.” Eve tore open the bag and stared at two big replicas of men’s penises.
“That was supposed to be a joke. I thought you’d get a laugh out of it the next time you recharged the weapons during the three-month maintenance schedule.”
Numb fingers dropped the bag as she turned to gape at Danica.
Danica had tears in her eyes. “I didn’t know we were going to end up like this. You’re always a bit bitchy and I picked them up at that last outpost we stopped at to buy supplies. It was meant as a hint for you to, um, maybe use one of them to chill out. I got two different sizes because I didn’t know what you’d prefer. Thick or regular girth.”

Blackie, face mask in place, raised his weapon to aim at the door as Gene, kneeling in front of the electrical panel, turned his way and nodded. Gene stood about the same time that the bulkhead doors slid open.
The sight of a brunette with bright green eyes, wearing a blue jumpsuit, was the first thing Blackie spotted. She blocked his view of the woman behind her but there was no doubt of her fellow crewmember’s sex since he got a glimpse of rounded breasts contained inside a small shirt before something hit his chest. The one in front had pitched an object at him.
Instinct made him catch it before it bounced off, instantly assuming it was an explosive device. He glanced down to gauge the type, hoping there was a clear path to throw it far enough to avoid being killed. His mind blanked for a second as he gawked, freezing.
“Is that an artificial phallus?”
Gene’s deep-voiced question jolted Blackie from his stunned stupor as he dropped the nonthreatening object and aimed his weapon at the woman. She held a second one as if it were a weapon, waving it back and forth. Part of him wanted to laugh, the sight so absurd it seemed impossible.
“Drop the…” Gene hesitated. “It is a fake—”

This book was given to me in exchange for an honest review.
I loved this book!!! From the beginning this book has plenty of entertaining, exciting parts. Laurann Dohner has done it again!!! If you loved her books this one won’t let you down. Blackie aka Handsome was held captive and was being tortured and getting ready to be terminated when a woman he thinks is human releases him from his chains and says she will be his bunk buddies when they leave Earth. But when the ship let Earth he was unable to find her. He thought she had died and he would never see her again.
Eve aka Hellfire was not human she was part canine and cyborg. Eve agreed to help rescue as many if not all the cyborgs she could but when she met Blackie she decided she he was her mate and she would do anything to keep him. When she was to meet the ship they had already left. She believed she would never see her mate again. So she and her littermate find a way to escape Earth and became bounty hunters but now she has another problem and that was pirates trying to capture them and hurt and rape them. So Eve and Danica her littermate rammed the ship and disabled them.
Blackie and the crew of his ship heard their transmission and went to save them. In the process of breaking the seal to the ship, Danica opened the door to the main cabin and shocked Blackie and Gene. Imagining the look on their faces was would have been priceless. But what made it even more fun was reading what Eve through and hit Blackie in the chest. OMG!!! She hit him with an artificial penis. Can you imagine one of them as a weapon? I can picture his face and Gene’s when the look at Blackie’s hand to see him holding it. I laughed and laughed. Throughout the story you have sarcasm, laughter, anguish, heartache and true love.

“I wish to care for you”

Haunting Blackie Laurann Dohmer

It seems like forever since we got our fix from Laurann Dohmer’s Cyborg Seduction series. So when Haunting Blackie was promoted I totally jumped on it.

The story opens with Blackie at a termination facility being tortured. His pain receptors where turned off and he felt everything. He just wanted the torture to stop.

Classified/Top Secret mission code name 895589 was an agreement between the cyborgs and a group of canine units (they’re existence/creation was not known with all the Cyborg Council) to help save as many Cyborgs from their destruction. A female known by code name HellFire was right in the middle of it all coordinating the escape of the trapped cyborgs. She was picking up on something albeit a weak signal she followed her gut and tried to locate who was in pain. That’s when she came across the big, handsome, magnificent cyborg later known as Blackie. She immediately went into action trying to free him all along talking to him and telling him what he is capable of and what he’ll need to do. Still unsure Blackie didn’t know whether to trust her or not. When they made it to the dock where he was to hijack a shuttle they were too late and the shuttle already left. They needed to hide and wait for another. She continued to brief him what he’ll need to do to make it out to safety. She told him to use the code 895589 and it would lead him to safety. There was an instant attraction between the two of them and Hellfire promised she would meet up with him and be his bunkmate. When the plan started going downhill Hellfire knew she had to be a distraction and went and faced the guards. Blackie watched her being smacked around unable to help he didn’t want to let her go he wanted her to come with him.

As the story plays out and it is time to escape earth, Blackie is waiting for his female to show as promised, when the shuttle takes off and she’s a no show Blackie is devastated. Years pass and Blackie assumes his female is dead. But that doesn’t stop her haunting his dreams. When on patrol with the Bidden they come to the rescue of a barge under attack by pirates only to find out his female is who he is rescuing. God I loved this story. I’m not divulging anything else. You need to read “Haunting Blackie”.
It is full of lies, deception and atrocities. What happened to Eve (Hellfire) and her littermates was unthinkable. The one sister she saved Danica and the Cyborg who has it bad for her (Danica). Blackie and Eve so get their HEA and now I’m so wanting the next Cyborg story. It has to be Gene and Danica, it just has to be. I hope we don’t have to wait forever for this one. You figure it was 3 ½ years from Taunting Krell to Haunting Blackie’s release. I don’t want to wait that long.

Laurann you did it again and Haunting Blackie is a 5 * in my book or rather on my kindle.

The Romance Review

An alpha male who is lethal yet haunted by a sexy siren who saved him, what more can a romance lover want? Full disclosure, I did not read any of the books in the series before this one. It is recommended to read them, but honestly, if one has read a New Species book by Ms. Dohner, there is very little in this story which would cause confusion. The theme is the same.

Blackie is a cyborg rescued from termination by a beautiful, redheaded human. She promised to meet him when she freed a few more of his race. When the time came to all escape from Earth, she never made it to the ship. Years later, he's still pining after the woman codenamed Hellfire.

Ms. Dohner does an excellent job of creating an easily understood world for someone just reading this book cold. It does help to understand how Ms. Dohner likes her romances. There is always a tortured male who is redeemed by his one true female mate. They both have survived horrors before they can come together. Their love is what brings them peace. Every single book I've read of Ms. Dohner is this way. It's very popular and it's something she does a good job writing. Her stories are angsty romance with harsh realities infiltrating through hateful groups.

In this one, it is the persecuted cyborgs who create a crime so heinous I had difficulty with it. I'm usually fine with mass genocide in a story. In this one, it breaks my heart. I gasped and felt physical pain as facts arise from Eve aka Hellfire. What happened to her people at the hands of humans and cyborgs is not something I can accept. It does make this story more powerful and I like how everything isn't rose-colored and perfect.

There is something I've noticed with Ms. Dohner's books. In her series, there is always the underlying theme of hatred and need for purity. It makes one wonder how in real life, Ms. Dohner's experienced discrimination. Is she one of the half-breeds or mutts who have suffered at the hands of those who are pure breed? Because the scenarios she creates and the thoughts from the haters in her series are very close in alignment with purists I've known growing up. The way they loathe anything tainting their blood comes out in a most inhuman and callous manner. Ms. Dohner captures this perfectly in the book. She shows it in high definition.

The romance in this story is light as most of it is focused on survival. The mating instinct trope thrown in here is predictable and easily understood. This story is recommended for romance lovers who enjoy a little sci-fi.

I finally finished listening to this yesterday while cleaning the house.

So.... this one was kind of a letdown. I was really looking forward to Blackie's character getting a sweet emotionally fulfilling romance and this was... ok. But come on, this whole "I met you 50 years ago and you're the love of my life" was sort of unbelievable. Or at least I would have liked to have seen a period of time where they got to know one another again, had some sort of a slow-burn build-up even if there was a lot of sexual tension. Maybe its me - I just really don't care for stories where they meet, have some sort of sexual encounter, are separated for a long time, then meet up again and its all sunshine and rainbows and daisies and orgasms ra-ra instant happily-ever-after.

The whole adding in a species-ish element? Kindof strange, and unnecessary, and not sure if I like it... *shifty eyes*

Also I kinda just didn't like the heroine that much. Does anyone else sometimes have this problem where you feel like the heroines are just not deserving of some of your favorite heroes? Maybe it's just me.

I also just want to mention that my edition was an audio book, and I have issues with those, even with a fantabulous narrator, 'cause I am a crazy fast reader and it makes me a little nuts when they don't go fast enough, haha. So maybe that's part of it, but looking at other reviews it seems like some others had similar feelings about the whole situation.

I'll still buy all her books though. Just sayin'.

Well, well, well, the reason that Laurann Dohner is one of my favorite authors is because she is an excellent story teller. She took Blackie who was kind of a jerk and made him likeable. I liked how the Cyborgs story and history evolved in this book and I appreciated how Ms. Dohner has shown them grow as a society but also just like humans how anyone can be flawed. I love that they are learning from their mistakes and also still learning really how to cope with their emotions since they never had to before.

I really enjoyed seeing other women from previous books too. Cyan is a favorite of mine and I was happy to get a quick glimpse of her, as well as Charlie. I really liked how Blackie came to see that he had done some horrible things in the name of honor and obedience and I'm glad that he actually tried to make amends.

I can't wait to see what happens in Book 9. That story is sure to be a lot of fun since it will involve Sky and Gene.

This book was serious with the insta love between the two main characters. As was said in another review, they met briefly 50 some years ago and then are reunited and instantly are in love with one another. With Blackie's behavior in the previous books it was hard for me to like him as a character. The author tried to make us forgive Blackie for what he had done by saying he was always loyal to the council, yada yada. Well, look how wonderful some members of the council turned out to be. Not very honorable.

Zorus was redeemed in his book but I never really grew to like Blackie in this one. Possibly because as Jacqueline said in her review, there was no character development. There was no real story. Not like there was for Zorus.

This one just didn't work for me. I've enjoyed the other books in this series as well as her New Species line but this one fell flat for me.

Cyborg Blackie was rescued from torture at a center by a woman, who promised to join him on the awaiting space escape. When she doesn´t join them, he´s let down, and can´t stop thinking about her.
Too much time has gone by, that the woman wouldn´t be alive any longer.
Imagine his amazement when she turns out to be one of the pair of women they save from space pirates. How is it possible?
Eve and her littermates were the one thing that made the Cyborgs escape possible at all, but when their time came to escape with them, they were left behind - facing judgement and punishment. In the end, only Eve and her sister survived. Now fighting space pirates, their end seem to be imminent, unless something unexpected comes along..
Smutty fluff, cyborgs and betrayal in a great combo.

Haunting Blackie has everything fans love about the cyborgs, with a couple of twists and turns along the way. Similar to Redeeming Zorus, you get to see a new, nicer side of a guy who was a complete jerk in previous books. I'm not sure who was worse, but Blackie and Zorus are two of my favorite characters now. The heroine, Eve, has a shocking background, we find out some secrets that were kept from all but three cyborgs, and get a nice setup for the next couple of books for Gene and Eve's sister, and I'm guessing Sky will get his book soon too. He's always been a favorite with his love of earth slang. So now I'm excited for future books as well as enjoying this one.
