Cameron Bates (Cam) could have almost any girl at Franklin High School…except for the one he wants. Unfortunately Bebe seems to be immune to his flirty charm and good looks, which means one of two things: a) she’s completely oblivious to how he feels, or b) she’s just not into him. If that’s the case, declaring his love would be disastrous for their friendship.

Bianca Barnes (Bebe) has a huge problem: the universe hates her. Every time she admits feelings for a boy, he ends up falling for her sweet, popular, and beautiful sister Beth. To avoid a broken heart, Bebe has sworn herself to secrecy. Nobody can know how she feels about Cam…Ever!

Neither person wants to confess their feelings, but the universe has its own plan. Out of the blue, Bebe is courted by a secret admirer. Cam has to step up his game and Bebe has to make a choice. Play it safe and accept the affections of her mystery man or challenge fate and take a chance on the boy she loves.

Content Description: This is a stand-alone YA contemporary romance with companion novels to follow. It contains minor language, innuendo, crude humor and steamy tension but is generally very clean. No sex. Recommended for ages 12 and up.

The most important thing to know about me is that I'm basically a sixteen-year-old trapped in an adult's body. It's why I feel such a great connection to all of my characters and why I love to write romantic comedy. The kid in me just wants to be goofy. Besides being a writer; I'm a wife, mother of five, volleyball enthusiast and home decorating guru. My list of favorites includes: reading, Christmas, pedicures, dessert, steak, Arizona winters and most importantly, Diet Coke.

2.5 stars! I picked this book up because i am a sucker for a good best friends turned lovers troupe. This book was annoying with bits and pieces of adorable stuff tucked in. The Mcs...uuuuuuggghhh. The h was soo insecure it was annoying and so oblivious to things because of said insecurity that made me roll my eyes every once In a while. She kept going on and on about hw she is not pretty at all and her sister is so perfect and eveybody wants her and all....uuuugghh it jst drained me, cant even begin to talk about hw overly cocky the H was in his head....he kept saying i am so hot and can get anyone i want but i want her.....every freaking time like a little humility pls! I jst felt like they were at the extremes of a scale of insecurity to overconfidence. I wish he gave her a little of his confidence and she gave him a little insecurity to balance themselves out. But his gestures was pretty cute but i wanted more! More from the plot...jst more. Nice HEA of course but i didnt really enjoy the book in general. I couldnt wait to finish it so i could start a new one.

Its a cute, obvious (storyline) and easy summer read. I´ve read it in one sitting and I enjoyed it, however because the story felt obvious and the writing style wasn´t my favorite I can´t give it more than 3 stars.

(4.5 Stars) I adored this story and was really surprised that it's a debut novel for this author. I'm going to get this out of the way from the very first, because it's my only problem with this book. I'm not a fan of swearing and thankfully the language stays mild, but it is kind of frequent at times. If that had been cut out or cut in half, I would have given it 5 stars for sure.

Bebe and Cam--best friends, fiercest competitors, and secret crushes. Bebe is a very athletic girl and she can dish the sass out when needed, especially with her cute neighbor, Cam. He's also athletic and he teases her like he's a ten-year-old, which is so sweet, but it never clues her in to his real feelings. I absolutely loved their banter--the wit, the sarcasm, and the fun drew me right into the story.

I thought Daniels captured the teen angst, teen drama, and teen insecurities perfectly. I tend to think it's the girls who are always unsure of themselves, but it can be boys too, especially when a lot is on the line. I love the secret admirer angle and how creative it is and how it stretches the characters to come into their full potential. The chemistry is perfect for high school.

My favorite things about this story are the characters and their relationships. Beth is Bebe's "twin" and they have the best sister/friend relationship ever! It makes me a little jealous that I didn't take advantage of that with my sister during high school. Not only that, but Beth is a great friend to Cam too. The teammates, friends, potential dates, etc are all fantastically well-written and done so in a way that really made them feel alive. I wanted to jump right into this book and be one of the characters. It took me back to my own teen days and I could help smiling throughout. I cannot wait to read more from this author, so I hope she keeps writing.

Content: mild, frequent language; some innuendo, kissing, talk of hooking up.

This would have been five stars from me if it weren't for all the swearing. This is a super cute YA novel set in high school. The author did a fantastic job with her characters. They were vibrant and full of life and fun. I was completely caught up in the whole story. I read through this one quickly and enjoyed it beginning to end. It made me smile.

I wish I could edit out the swearing. My daughter would LOVE this book but she won't be reading it because of that dumb swearing. boo.

Impressed this is the author's first published fiction work. Wouldn't have known by reading this. Especially impressive was the author's ability to write from both a teen girl and teen boy's perspective. Liked that the author kept this YA sensually clean, but still with realistic teen attraction feelings. Could have done with out the infrequent mild profanity. There is sort of a love triangle with 2 likeable young men interested in the heroine, but since you know both BeBe and Cam are already mutually in love and have been for 2 years (though they are oblivious about the mutual part) there is no agnst about what team to be on or couple to ship.

Language: Some profanity with infrequent use of the a** word.

Sensuality content: Clean. Kisses only. Some innuendo. Staring at shirtless hero by heroine and other high school girls.

It took me a few chapters to get used to the super snarky/sassy and over-the-top style of first person narration and dialogue, but I was quickly drawn to the Cam and Bianca's vulnerabilities hidden beneath overly confident exteriors. They each have a case of what they think is unrequited love for each other, and I couldn't put the book down as I read to see how their feelings would be revealed to each other. There is plenty of humor in the male perspective from Cam, often bordering on ridiculous, but he really does grow on you. Bianca was drama central but you get the feeling that she's not normally that way... or at least to that extreme. Overall it was highly entertaining with fun twists and a great ending! A young adult novel that will definitely be enjoyed by teens, young adults, and not-so-young adults ;) The author/publisher recommends for ages 12 and up, but my personal recommendation is 14 and up.

Let me start of by saying, that yes, this book does contain some swear words, and a little innuendo, nothing I found offensive, but I just want to confirm that little note the author put in the book description herself.
This book was one of those one’s that sucked me in straight from the first page. Bea, or as Cam likes to call her Bebe, has loved Cam(eron) from the day she met him. He has also loved her back, but they both haven’t ever had the nerve to speak up.
This book alternates between Bebe’s and Cam’s POV, and give you a very clear imagine into the inner workings of the teenage mind, both the female and male perspective. Daniels hit it spot on, and had me laughing out loud through most of this read. I loved the alternative POV, as I strongly feel each story has at least two sides to it, and giving you that always makes it that much more complete.
Reading this book brought back a lot of my teenage memories, and I enjoyed it a lot. I loved Bebe’s snarkiness, it reminds me a lot of myself, I must admit.
As I said before, the story drew me in to the point that putting the book down to go to work or get things done was a real punishment. Eventually I kept reading until well into the night, falling asleep with my kindle app open, just because I couldn’t put this one down.
When I did finish the book, after two days, it hurt to say goodbye to them. And the epilogue gave away too much for me, as I would have liked to see a sequel with Beth’s story. Sadly I know who she ends up with, but I’m rooting for Daniels to make it possible for me to still get that side of the story. Because after all of Beth’s efforts, that girl deserves her HEA.
I hope we will get a sequel/new book from Daniels soon, as she has gained a fan in me, and I am anxious to read more! Keep up the good work!

3.5 ADORABLE STARS

Just. Adorable. This book kept me up at night and early morning. It's rare that I get to enjoy a good YA romance because good ones are hard to find.

This book would have been 4 stars if it weren't for the short epilogue. It threw me off a little bit but overall the book is pretty enjoyable. ✨

Let me be very clear: I’m totally siding with Bebe on this one. If a guy is too *coughlamecough* to step forward while he’s been treating you like his worn-out-shoe-of-a-little-sister for years, what is a girl to think?! Yeah, yeah, Cameron has a good point too, he doesn’t want to admit his feelings and mess up their current friendship but as any girl would tell any guy, “How was I supposed to know? I can’t read your mind!” Now, back to the book review: This is very well-written and took me right back to high school. Yea. Seriously. Right back to high school. I felt like I was there. I’ll admit, high school wasn’t that bad for me and I like NOT being there, too. Really fun read. I had a very hard time putting it down.
4 ½ Stars. Moderate swearing. Otherwise clean.

This YA book features Cam and Bianca. They both play basketball for the boys and girls team at high school and have been best friends for years. But Cam has a secret. He likes Bebe as more than a friend. But he’s afraid if he straight-out tells her, she won’t feel the same and the truth will break up their friendship. Which can’t happen. So begins a convoluted, hilarious teenage story of angst, misunderstandings, and Slushee runs. This was a fun read that kept me captivated the whole way through. Great YA read.

Frustrante, no?

I first came across Perfectly Oblivious by Robin Daniels on a Facebook fan page for Kelly Oram. At the time I didn’t realize they were sisters, but now it makes perfect sense. Friends if you love and are obsessed with Kelly as I am (she’s about the only YA contemporary I’ll read), then you are in for a treat. Perfectly Oblivious by Robin Daniels is a sweet story about two best friends falling in love. Told in dual POV, the reader knows all creating some dang fine irony as we read the characters’ struggles.

Bianca Barnes is who I wanted to be growing up. Petite, athletic, the girl that’s friends with all the guys but doesn’t really date any of them. She’s comfortable in her own skin except for when it comes to her best friend and neighbor Cameron. Quite simply, she’s in love with him and has been from the day they met. But she’ll never admit it for fear that he likes her sister better. Her dilemma is classic. Been there, done that and I’m sure any girl can relate. While Bianca is confident in herself, she also has this stubborn belief that no one will like her like that. That role goes to her big sister, the beautiful, sweet, stereotypical cheerleader.

Cameron Bates is not at all what I expected. After reading three or four chapters from Bianca’s POV, I was a little surprised that the playboy really wasn’t one. He was striving to get the girl of his dreams to like him back. Like Bianca, Cam is insecure. He knows he’s good looking and their personalities match, but he isn’t sure if he’s been friend-zoned. And that scares him because Bebe (his nickname for Bianca) is his best friend and while he would love for her to be more he doesn’t want to lose her either. Again classic dilemma that I’m sure many will relate too.

The plot is fairly simple. Cam wants Bebe to notice him and hopefully become more than just his friend. The way he goes about winning the girl isn’t as simple and at times I really wanted to reach through the pages and yank on his ear. Seriously, he is super sweet in his gestures but man does he have foot-in-mouth disease when they talk face to face *smh* I really liked having both POV as it helped to understand what the other was thinking. However I did feel like it spoiled itself as you were reading and there were several instances of repetition which was distracting and pulled away from the pace of the story.

Overall I really enjoyed this debut novel. I thought that the author has done a decent job of creating believable characters and the pace kept my attention. In fact, I finished it in one sitting. If you enjoy YA contemporary or you’re looking for a light weekend/beach read, I highly recommend you grab a copy!

In the middle of a chaotic summer, this was just the book I needed. The characters are all unique, but all of they weren't your stereotypical self-centered teens. They were are trying to be good people. I really appreciated that the sisters were really different, but the author didn't force those differences. The main character was more of a tomboy, but isn't the never wear make-up and never flirt type. There was some language and innuendo, but I would still recommend this book as a fun teen romance read...perfect for relieving mid-summer stress!

Found this on kindle unlimited and couldn't stop reading once I started. Love these friends-to-more stories and these characters pulled me in right away. Normal. Typical. Refreshing. Just witty dialogue and fun story. After finishing, immediately purchased my own copy from Kindle.

It could have been better.

I chose this rating due to the amount of language, and the bad use of the body laungage throughout the book. It included an over use of swear words, and the body laungage was a bit inappropriate at times. If the author had modified these parts, it woulf have been a much more enjoyable book.

3.5 stars -- I received a free copy from the author in exchange for an honest and unbiased review/opinion.

This was a wonderful debut, and a super cute YA. Honestly, if it hadn't been for my personal tastes, I would have rated this book higher. As you can tell from the blurb, the entire premise of this book is based on not communicating...it's what drives the plot. Cam is afraid to tell Bianca about his feelings for fear of losing the friendship and being rejected, and Bianca refuses to tell ANYONE about her feelings for Cam b/c of what boils down to self-esteem issues. Both are super valid feelings for teenagers, and it definitely felt realistic. But I still have a hard time reading it personally, b/c it can result in a really frustrating book. As far as books with "near misses" go, this one wasn't horrible for me. I think I was OK with it up to about 70%, and then I started to get tired and want more. What it can provide is some great tension between the characters, and I thought that Cam and Bebe had that. But if I'm (personally) not given enough growth and development of the characters, then I tend to be left with more frustration than I can handle. I need something to balance it out, you know?

Now, with all that being said, I was honestly sucked in and hooked for a good portion of the book. I'm not sure if it was great characters, or just me loving the double unrequited love trope (where they both secretly love each other, but assume the other doesn't feel the same), but I was invested in seeing how their story would unfold. I found both characters to be equally ADORABLE, CUTE, QUIRKY on one hand, and FRUSTRATING as all get out on the other. You have no idea how many times I huffed in annoyance when something would get in the way and delay my gratification. I know a lot of readers enjoy that, so I know not everyone will feel the same as me.

Bianca had a lot of traits that draw me to a heroine...I find it so easy to empathize with heroines that have self-esteem issues, and don't see their own worth. What I enjoyed about her is that it wasn't all that she was about. I LOVED how strong and confident she was in her basketball skills, and how sassy she could be with Cam and the other people she hangs out with. I thought the relationship with her sister, Beth, really added to Bianca's depth...her feeling conflicted b/c Beth was her best friend, but also the source of her feelings of inferiority in some ways.

Cam could be soooooo freaking cute, and I ADORED what he did to show Bianca his feelings. Seriously, he gave me total tummy tingles, and I just wanted to hug him so many times!! I loved seeing what he would do next. And the pickup basketball game scene?? SWOON!! BUT. But. Sometimes when he was going overboard with his jealousy, I was a bit disappointed in him. I had to keep reminding myself he was a 16 year old boy... So he didn't quite get put in my top book boyfriend lists, but he still made me smile.

There were some great secondary characters as well. I loved that there weren't any stereotypical bad characters either, you could see hints of depth in a few of them (I'm intrigued by Michael, and even Angelica surprised me). So many times authors will cop out and make characters overly evil, so it was refreshing that Ms. Daniels did not go there in this novel. And of course Brady and Beth were fantastic additions. It would have been so easy to make both of those characters too good to be true, you know? But they weren't. They had depth as well, they made mistakes (particularly Beth), and they both won me over. I loved how each of their little stories played out. Honestly the only characters I could have stood to see more of were parents...they were noticeably absent (both BeBe's and Cam's).

All in all a solid debut. If it hadn't been for my personal aversion to lack of communication, it would have been an even bigger hit with me. Will definitely look forward to seeing more from this author.

Salve lettrici,
Voi siete già state al mare?
O dopo qualcun altro.

I have always been fond of Friends-to-lovers stories, that's actually what got me hook with Perfectly Oblivious.

Bebe and Cam have been best friends for years. Their friendship somehow have grown into something deeper and more serious. The problem is that both of them are reluctant to admit their attraction for each other until another guy entered the picture and made advances towards Bebe.

Cam then realized he had to do something, he had to step up his game or else he will lose Bebe. That's when the craziness starts.

I like the chemistry between the lead characters and I did see that they seriously require a relationship upgrade. I was actually rooting for Cam, all throughout the book. It was so much fun witnessing all shenanigans he had to do just to the get the girl. Haha.

It's no wonder that getting out of friend zone is such a complicated task. It comes with sacrifices and consequences. There's always the risk ruining the friendship, the fear of rejection or the ugly truth that the object of your affection might not reciprocate the feeling. I like how the author covered everything.

Perfectly Oblivious is a charming tale of friendship blossoming into love. The novel was wonderful. It's a clean YA book with lots of swoon worthy scenes and hilarious antics.

All in all,I'd say Robin Daniels did a terrific job on her debut novel. Perfectly Oblivious is a promising start for her career as an author.

I definitely recommend this. It's the kind of book that's perfect to read on a lazy sunday afternoon.
I'm certain that you will laugh your heart out and fall in love with the book.

-"I reached into the pocket of my hoodie, pulled out my keys, and pointed the fob out the window toward my dad’s car. Then I hit the panic button. The alarm blared to life, beeping and buzzing and wailing. Lights flashed, illuminating my driveway through the darkness. Brady had been millimeters from Bebe’s lips, so when she jolted in surprise, the top of her forehead whacked him in the nose. I doubted it hurt him, but it totally killed their moment, and I laughed out loud. Unfortunately, after a minute of examining my dad’s car and determining the coast to be clear, they laughed, too. This was no fun. I hit the panic button again, and the car went silent. I guess Brady decided not to tempt fate, because when they were done laughing, Bebe shook her head and Brady smiled. Then he leaned over, hugged her, and kissed her on the cheek. I blew out a breath of relief. Brady may have gotten himself a date to the dance, but at least he didn’t defile Bebe’s lips. Perfect lips that were meant for me."-

This was a cute, fun, fast-paced, clean romance. I appreciated that the author warns right from the start that there is some "language" and that it pushes the limits a tiny bit on the "clean" factor (well rated at a 14+ audience). I always like to know these things in advance before choosing a book to read so it was very much appreciated. It was clean enough that I wasn't offended and the language was pretty mild.

I enjoyed the pacing of the story and the characters were fun. I'm not a teen reader but I liked the storyline and I would definitely read more from this author. I always like stories that include best friends who are secretly in love with each other. These two had a fun rapport that made it very believable. I highly recommend this book.

Point of view not my favorite

I am a big YA junkie. I'm also pretty easy on reviews. I love everything for the most part as long as the book doesn't delve too dirty. I struggled with this book and I think mostly it was the first person alternating point of views. Also, the main boy character was super conceited and despite his cute ways, he drove me a little nuts. The author has a lot of potential though. She's a great writer and I was impressed that this was edited so well for a first time indie author.
Content: Overall, clean. There is a little bit of crude talk, but nothing you wouldn't see in a PG rated movie.
Language: This book does have some language, but no f-bombs.
Religion: Not at all.
Overall story: This is a straight-up high school YA romance with a happy ending. I really liked that. However, as mentioned above, I struggled with the pov and one of the main characters.

Happy reading!

So apparently, I had downloaded a sample of this book on my Kindle a couple months ago and didn't enjoy what I read, so I DNF'd it. Then, late last night, I found it on Kindle Unlimited and decided it seemed cute, so I decided to read it. Now having finished it, I find my first impression was accurate: I did not like this book.

The characters annoyed the crap out of me. They were shallow and selfish and immature, and Cam in particular just rubbed me the wrong way. I get that they're teens, and maybe I should be commending the author for accurately portraying the self-involvement innate to her characters. There was a lack of adult role models. There was a lack of adults, period. And finally, the writing was often pedantic and redundant in nature.

Overall, a meh read, albeit a cute one. 2 stars, and I will be giving the sequel a chance because I hope the author improves with experience. Also, it's free to borrow.

Words can’t explain

First off, Bebe’s character is absolutely relatable and funny and Cam complements her well. I loved Brady all the way and I am so glad that he got his very own happy ending. Maybe Mike gets his own ending in another book? I’d definitely be here ready to read it. All in all, this book was stellar but the only thing that I could say is that I felt like it took forever to get to my happy ending, but that didn’t deter me from completing the book. It was still completely engaging and adorable.
