In the anticipated final book of the Descendant Series, tyranny, betrayal and chaos erupt across the realms.
To trust those you believe would never deceive you would be a grave mistake.
In the belly of the beast, Dante will stop at nothing to wield dominant power of all the realms, while the Trinity summons the Circle of Seven to unleash an attack on the beastly Abigarian and Hellion armies. Will Elizabeth allow the forces of the Dark Realm and coven witches to inflict their wrath, or will she find a way to bring to light the Prophecy of the Three, ending Dante's pursuit of becoming the supreme lord?
Elizabeth, the transcendent child and the legion of angels must fight against the lies, destruction, and chaos of the Dark Realm in an attempt to stop Dante once and for all..

Transcendent is an ok good book and It starts where book two leaves off. This book tell the story of the prophet child and what is to come. The characters are going to have to come to terms with what is supposed to happen and what will happen. Transcendent is good for YA who likes stories with this story line. L.J. congratulations on the Descendant Series it's really good.
A good Author will leave their story imprinted in your memory for more books to come to a series, no matter how much time in between each book. You should be able to pick up a book to a series and after a page or two, remember the story. This is how good an author is in my book and LJ Amodeo is that kind of author. I started reading this book after months, if not a year, since I read book 1 and 2 and the story came flooding back to me. No going back to reread the first two books needed. Good Author! Good Series! Good Story Line! We pick up where we left off at the birth of Elizabeth's baby and her out of body experience. Beth wakes up in a dark room not knowing how she got there, feeling alone and abandoned by Michael and the others. Is her baby really gone? But she can feel him inside her heart. Hearing nothing, no noise, no sounds coming from outside her room and throughout the house, she knows she has to find Michael and her son. Hurting from the birth and week, she tries to find her way out and around the house. Destruction is everywhere she looks. Did the Trinity leave her to die? Or has the fight started and they just left? Time will only know! For me, it goes a little slow in the beginning, but you have to catch up to whats happening around the world and what good and evil is up to. But when Beth decides it's time to do her part in the Prophesy, the story picks up speed. From there the story gets better and better! Wondering where Michael, Freddie and her Father is, and if they are looking for her, she tries to leave the mansion, but a force won't let her. Why? Many questions need answers before she can do what she is destine to do. Freddie stands beside Elizabeth and promises to guard her on her journey of the Prophsey. Beth's Father teaches her all he can and leads them to the opening. In the mean time, Earth, the human realm is falling apart. The destruction on the earth realm is to good to be true, in other words, we are really headed to these times ourselves. It scared me as I read it and realized the truth of our own times and how it all fits into today's world. The truth is spot on! You are taken through the Prophsey, the evil doings and the Angels fighting. Brieus, aka Brice ----- Wow! Did not see that coming! I knew it was someone from the Trinrity though, but that was a shock! Many more shocks to come! Elizabeth and Elijah and a third person is to fulfill the Prophsey to end the war between good and evil forever. Can they do as needed and stay alive? And who is the third person? How will they know? The Angles fight the Hellions high in the sky, showing streaks of light in the dark sky's of the night. People on the earth ground, watch the orange glow of hell and lights of Angels in battle clash together. The spectical is beautifull from below, but deadly in the sky. Many are lost! Trinty; one would think that the holy men and women would be spared from destruction. But would you spare them after the way they treated Elizabeth? Even after knowing her place in the Prophsey? As the ground shakes and the buildings fall all around, all they can do is pray for forgiveness as they meet their fate. May God forgive them! The third mission, No Way!!!!!! Can it be done??? Can the truth be absorbed and really seen? Can Beth and Elijah pull it off??? We will see! There are huge surprises at the Vortex when the three meet to complete the Prophsey. It is jaw dropping!!!! The fight in the Vortex with Dante was or is amazing. The fighting happened with skill and fierce volume. as your reading it, your at the edge of your seat, biting your nails. Can they beat the beast? Or will Dante win and take over the world? Go Sam!!!!! The ending had me in tears. Tears of joy! Tears of sadness, that the memory isn't there. But now I know what Elijah showed Freddie and it all makes sense. Wonderful Ending!!!!!!!! Now you will have to go and read the series for yourself and see how this amazing Author set you on the edge of your seat, left you hanging, tears in your eyes, mouth hanging wide open, and a lot of fast page turning to see what happen next. Enjoy!!!!!!
The series started, as many YA series do, with a teenage girl doing teenage girl things despite the disturbing voices she hears inside her head. Since then, Elizabeth has been put through the wringer, literally and spiritually. She tragically lost her mom, fell in love with an angel, and conceived a child with him. And now, both she and her miracle child are the keys to a war between heaven and hell with nothing less than the fate of the world at stake.
No pressure.
Elizabeth has come a long way since the first chapters of the series. She's grown as a character, transforming from a (if I'm being honest) somewhat whiny, naïve girl to a strong young woman, ready to kick butt and take names. As I read the book, I could only hope that she was able to come out unscathed and end up with the guy who is truly her soulmate. (No spoilers.)
The pace of this story was fast, with many exciting and tension-filled moments. I think it is the best of the trilogy, and a fitting conclusion to this series.
I have to say this third book is the best of the three. With that said, reading the two before builds the angst, anticipation and storyline motive to give this conclusion its credibility. What a magnificent story! There were times I wanted to throat punch the main character Beth but her “teenage irrational” thinking is what led to such a great story. The suspense on who could be the Trinity Traitor was fun. I did cheer for those who got justice. I was sadden by those who perished. I did like how the author made the characters relatable. I loved how the author ended the story and how the couples were matched up. A story worth basking in the afterglow.
Such a deep story unfolds in this series. I am almost at loss for words. So touched by the complexity of the picture painted with words. So much is asked of each of us in life. Yet if we truly were destined to be asked to give everything...
