Situs The Zapex created us, and they believe they control us. Because of them, I nearly destroyed a human female. I should die for what I have done, but the human harvest has begun. I must live to protect her. She is fragile and broken. It will take two of us to save her from the Zapex and keep her from being claimed by other Monrok. She will always have me for protection, but nothing more. I may have claimed her, but I will never be the one to truly mate her.
Jual Our little mate is more resilient than Situs believes. I have promised not to touch to her until she is ready, but other Monrok believe she is free for the taking. She is ours. We may not be able to properly mark her, but we will destroy anyone who threatens to take her from us.
3.5 stars. I liked book one more, but still very much enjoy the Monrok. This story was a bit more staid, and the chick was frustrating, but I respect that they were their own personalities, rather than repeats of the previous book.
In this second book about the Huge human Cyborg Monrok🐺🍆🌋✋🔪🔫 warriors, we meet Situs🐺🍆🌋✋. He's a Monrok warrior🐺🔪🔫 with a deep sense of guilt. After been injected with 💉drugs by their Zapex👹 creator that puts him into a mating frenzy, he nearly kills the human woman, Hannah👩💋💔, sent to mate with him. It's the 💉drugs, but he cannot forgive himself.
His partner, Jual🐺🍆🌋✋🔪🔫, feels badly for both of them, but he realizes they must mate with Hannah👩💋💔 again soon or risk deadly challenges from other mateless Monrok🐺🔪🔫 male pairs.
Hannah👩💋💔 is heavily traumatized, partly because she came from an extremely religious community and background, and partly because of the violence of the acts with Situs🐺🍆🌋✋🔪🔫.
They escaped the Zapex👹 ship in the first book and settle on a beautiful fertile planet🌍, but it has some drawbacks. There are a number of extremely vicious🐲 and deadly animals about. The rivers have no fish, but they have huge dangerous creatures, too. Hannah👩💋💔 must let go of her past and learn to live in the here and now. Can she forgive Situs🐺🍆🌋✋💔, and can he forgive himself? Situs🐺🍆🌋✋ is a spankster, he uses both his hand✋ and switches to punish Hannah for running away! YEHAW! Ride em Bareback🍆, Cowgirl!🐎🐎🐎🐎🐎
Explicit xxx scenes run through the book, as well as some gory violence. Adults only!
This is the second book in a series that I am coming to love more and more. It continues the story of a group of male cyborgs made from abducted human children who escape from their creators with a few more recently stolen human women from Earth who have not had cybernetic enhancements. This particular installment begins with a very DARK sex scene of non-consent on the part of the female. It could be a trigger to those susceptible. The story goes on from this point to be less BDSM; and, relationships recover and mend while there continues to be spanking and domestic discipline. This book has some of the best masturbation scenes that I have ever read, very HOT! A couple of elements that I did not care for but understand in the context here were religion and beards, just not a fan of beards and just not conditioned to a contemporary religious theme in this type science fiction genre. I look forward to more in this series, perhaps the story of an interesting support character, Raina, and that of the Monrok and his human female stowaway who arrive on the newly established cyborg planet, Kadeema, at the end of this book.
There are darker elements to this sci fi romance than I prefer, such as rape and BDSM. However, it’s not overwhelming and blends seamlessly with the story as a whole that makes it easy to swallow.
The characters are likable. There development of their relationship was pleasantly written. But most of the universe/setting is not really included in this story, it’s more of a back drop or plot device. It’s still interesting enough to keep your attention sci fi wise.
I would encourage and enjoy more world building. I’m patient though. I’m hoping the series progresses and develops more fully, more graphically. If it doesn’t, it’s a decent sci fi cyborg romance with kink for a passing read. It’s worth my shelf space. Enjoy.
The world is artfully built, enough new ideas that the plot seems new and exciting, even if it runs in the same vein as many other sci fi romances. Those who don't like questionable consent are probably not going to able to like the first book in this series or the first few chapters in this particular book. However, I feel the writing more than makes up for that part - I'm not the biggest fan of said consent, and am unable to finish some books because of it, but I found this well written enough to enjoy the story anyway, and that says quite alot to me in regards to the author. I'll definitely read more in this series.
At first, I read reviews. I was skeptical. Then, I said F it. The start was slightly harsh, but I got through it. I skipped through to the part, where Situs was suffering torment. I finished reading from there. I enjoyed this read immensely. It was so well written. I felt sorry for both males. But, all 3 characters came together. And it was heartwarming. This is a definite reread. Honest review.
For what it is (poorly edited human-abducted-by-aliens explicit menage fantasy) it's actually pretty good. The plot mostly makes sense, the three main characters are clearly drawn, and despite the horrifying backdrop of rape-while-drugged and kidnapping-by-aliens, the three main characters are sticklers for obtaining enthusiastic consent and apologizing when they fail at it.
3.25 RATING - I didn’t like this book as much as the first in the series. I don’t say this often but there may have been too much sex. The story also dragged in places. The “use your words” admonishment was used a too much and started annoying me - I couldn’t keep from thinking of a child. Still, I’m glad I stumbled across this series and plan on checking the next book out when it releases.
Book #2 starts on the ship but soon gives a look into their struggles to integrate their lives and to make peace with their past, sharing each other and the threat of recapture.
Ms. Cara has outdone herself again. Another fabulous addition to this series. The premise for the whole series is very unique. The world building is phenomenal and the characters are well developed. I am looking forward to the next book.
Book 2 was good but I was getting a little irritated with the female MC. She knew why Situs was acting that way around her and what caused it and she still tried to hide behind the excuse of religious upbringing, it was a good story line but that was my only quirk that prevented 5 stars.
The book is just as great as the first one with a lot of action, passion, and steamy love scenes that leaves you saying ahh with awesome characters. Loved everything about the book and keep them coming.
I really enjoy reading this series. The books are pretty quick and easy reads which are also really hot. Great combo. I really want more in this series and its spinoffs.
