So, that says a bit about me. I grew up in a world of believing that everything worth doing was worth doing well. I know that many things don't seem possible but who would have thought that 'Star Trek' communicators that flipped up would become a reality a decade ago.
I am the son of a war veteran who returned home to find his bride had moved on in life and left him behind. I suppose I should consider myself lucky as I was born to his second wife. Otherwise, I might not be around today.
Both were creative people. Dad had little creativity that only comes from the soul but had technique like I've never seen before. Mom had the creative talent but no technique. I think I inherited some of each.
Today, thousands of images flow through my brain in a single day, every day. I can't capture them all. My artwork tries but so many get away from me. My stories do a better job of capturing them. It is why I like to paint and write fiction based on fantasy, sci-fi, the awesome female form and erotica.
Some say I have a deviant spirit. Maybe I do. Others embrace that which I reveal to people. Yes, I have decades of experience hiding parts of me from the world. Frankly, I was scared to reveal my true self in a politically correct world where even the slightest comment or opinion can be chastised and degraded. I'm slowly learning to rewrite those feelings and embrace who I truly am. Thankfully, I have a very special person in my life who allows me the freedom to do exactly that, even if she doesn't agree with me at times.
So, there you have it. I'm a free-spirit, who embraces as much as I can, accepts that others have their beliefs that I will never try to change and open-minded enough to believe that not everything I was taught may be the truth. I question everything.
I see the universe we live in as a living entity. There is life and a spirit everywhere, in each of us, the trees outside my window, the rocks we walk on, the stars in the sky, the Milky Way galaxy and well, the entire universe.

The name of this book got me shook
This book was recommended to me, and for some reason, I started to read it. I had no idea what it was going to be except for the name, and pretty much nothing really happened except detail explanation of society that's steal people.
The book was interested. The concept was something a little different, but again, I have seen and read before. This is not a love story.A part of me wishes that it became a love story where she escaped her captivity, but this is not it. It had horrific gruesome scenes.However, certain times had hopeful feeling.It wasn't dreary all the time.
I am still not sure how I feel, but I did finish reading the book.

Just finished after the 3rd time and still I could not put the book down as I read something new each time. This is a new take on Human trafficking and I really love the writing of this book. It gives you something to think about when people go missing and are never seen again.
The individual characters are very interesting and Mr. Verry has gotten them to "play" their part very convincingly.
I don't want to rehash the description of the "Consortium" but give it 5 stars and love this author's work.

Mixed Opinions
I’m of two minds about this book. I liked the relationship Avril and Sir developed between themselves. On the other hand I’m disturbed by the actions of Sir and the Consortium who kidnap young adults, physically and mentally abuse them, auction them off to the highest bidders where they are eventually tortured and killed. To me this is twisted and abhorrent, not to mention highly illegal behavior. I’m not into S&M as any sort of pleasurable experience. Yes I’m aware this is a novel. It just crosses a moral and ethical line for me hence I gave only two stars. I liked Avril a lot and I liked Sir when he kind and sweet to Avril. Otherwise I see the depraved behavior keeping me from recommending the book.
Plus Mr Verry needs a genuine professional editor and proofreader to straighten out the many grammatical errors and the faulty sentence structures which occur abundantly.

SPOILER ALERT Although these young women and men were kidnapped to be used for sexual activities, this was not any trafficking of the kidnapped. As with most books on sex trafficking where mostly young girls are sold over and over again, this book was about picking out people for their looks, intelligence and personality. Once kidnapped, they are auctioned to the association of very rich, privileged individuals, with like minded ideas of sadism and cruelty, always the endgame is death for the slave/victim, specifically for twisted gratification of the buyer. Always an exception when a slave/victim, meets the one owner/buyer that doesn't want the end to be quick but to draw out the torture with the sex to be pleasurable for both. The slave really doesn't have much of a choice. Die a horrible death or live a horrible life.

I chose to read this book after reading some of the negative reviews to see if it wad actually as bad as they had said. While i did find it to be very dark and graphic. I would think you would expect that with this kind of story. I think it actually could have been much much worse. I don't actually enjoy this type of rape and abuse i do have to give the author credit for writing a story hard to tell and giving it some what of enjoyable storyline to follow. Not sure if i want to read the follow up book or not....i may have to force myself just to see....

Could be a much better book with a lot less repetition of unimportant information. Found it hard to maintain interest for long periods of time.

I normally don't rate books I don't get far into, but holy cow. I know the author is a male, and I tried not to think too much about it, but it was very clear he didn't understand women.
Going to a doctor's appointment and talking with the nurse about her sexual experiences with 10 different men each month and the nurse saying she's jealous. What?? Then she quickly changes her attitude and calls the doctor out for being late.
She and her friend talked about hundreds of "things millennials talk about."
And then there were spelling and grammar mistakes.
Ugh! The storyline sounded interesting and I wish I could look past it. This book definitely needs a female editor.

What…
an imagination it takes to create this kind of story. This was not an easy read. The victimization of people male or female is just wrong in my mind. The helplessness and strength of the female character was awesome even when my skin crawled. I can only hope that this really was all in the mind of the author and not true to life. If I wore rose colored glasses, they would definitely be warped now.

Just … not good
I ended up skimming much of the book, so I gave it a 2 star. A 1 star would mean I couldn’t finish it. The subject matter is just over the top and I’m even a fan of dark, bdsm type books. This one just goes a bit far. The characters aren’t really likable - even Avril is a bit annoying. Beyond that, the writing is clunky, strained, and a little juvenile feeling. I’d like to see how it all ends, but I don’t think I can do 5 more books.

This is one of those books that you read thinking it is about BDSM of the Nonconsensual Variety and you realize it isn't.
It was just plain old Horror in NonCon Trappings.

Wow
Um. I really enjoyed this rather hardcore book. It was erotic but because of the non consensual nature of the relationship I found it a bit confronting. I loved how strong the FMC is. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

Unusual!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was very well written and easy to read. I really didn't care for the ending though. I wanted more! I would've liked to see a bit of her life after the decision was made.

A bit disturbing to be honest, still an interesting read on the darker side of life. The list of officially missing people around the world, is ever exponentially increasing and I wonder if this story offers a possible explanation of what could happen to them, fact or fiction.

Fascinating situations, very poor character development. Avril starts out as a superficial woman, and continues in that vein throughout the entire story. She presents as almost sociopathic. Dare I say that it’s obvious that a man is writing this, without understanding much of a woman’s psyche?

This is a very Dark Suspense Horror book, and this is the first book in the Consortium series. Please do not read this book until looking into the triggers of this book because there are a lot of triggers and very dark stuff in this book. This book is very well written, and I know this whole book is dark and covers hard to read stuff but I still enjoyed reading it. I enjoyed getting to really know Avril's character, and I know that I could not be as strong as her character is if I was put into her place. I wish the stuff that happens in this book never happens in the real world, but I know people get human trafficking everyday which makes me very sad. I really want to see what Avril does next, so I cannot wait to read the next book in this series.
