Bayla’s destiny had been set from the beginning. Nothing changed when the sexy Zandian doctor purchased her from the baby farm and brought her to his examination room. Nothing. And everything.
Daneth has always lived in his head, letting science govern his thoughts and choices. Having Bayla in his lab shouldn’t change that, but somehow the submissive human female gets under his skin. No matter how harshly he punishes her, she responds to his touch with passion, sparking a lust that threatens to distract him from his plans.
When Bayla learns Daneth has a weakness for her, she presses her advantage, but she has no desire to bear yet another child and have it taken from her arms. If only she could figure out how to stay with the dominant alien doctor but avoid the pregnancy…

I shouldn’t have read the last book and this book back to back. The storyline is so similar. Okay, not the storyline, but the plot is.
Bayla is a breeder. They use her to carry babies. This is a really sad story, as a mom you can’t but feel for her. She has carried two kids and they were both taken from her.
Daneth is the doctor and you saw a bit of him in the first book so if you haven’t read it, you should probably read the first book first. I really didn’t like Daneth. He was so clinical and he’s in his 50’s! He was cold and only saw Bayla as a vessel, kind of like an animal.
The book starts out hot and it’s probably the hottest book in the series in my opinion. A lot of anal play and light BDSM. This book is like the last book in the sense, one of the characters carries a secret and instead of voicing his/her concerns, they just do what they need to do. That seems to be the typical plot.
Since this book is about getting pregnant and babies and yadda yadda, it was different enough for me to enjoy it. BUT I really do want another storyline. No more secret storyline and distrust please!
Because the book was so hot, I kind of was okay with Daneth being a grade A jerk. I mean, he truly only cared about impregnation and continuing the spices. I would have thought the other human females would have stuck up for Bayla a bit more, but that’s me.
I think I would have enjoyed this book more had I didn’t read this book and the last book back to back.
So far this is the book I disliked most of this series. For some reason it rubbed me all wrong. I hated the Ocretions before but HHV just drove that to a whole new level. Daneth was also not my favourite male lead. He's just too much of a cliche. As a scientist myself (well one still in training) I resent the stereotype of the cold always logical lab rat. We do not shut off our emotions. In fact we're mostly acting like children when not trying to secure funding :D
I liked Bayla and could understand her reasoning. I would probably have done something similar in her place. Also I would have tried to kill the bastard owning me in his sleep not only screwing over his experiment.
I kind of want to see a novel in this world where the human woman doesn't get off on the dominance stuff and see how the male who's been thought that it's the way humans like it will deal with the situation. I know it's unlikely but still I hope. And with this I finished all the published books of the series and can't wait to see if the Zandians will finally make the attempt at reclaiming their planet.
There's a lot of love for this book and I'm not 100% sure why. Don't get me wrong it's not a horrible book and it's well written. I have no complaints about the style. But it did make me a bit uncomfortable.
I've read a fair bit of erotic fiction & some of my favourite authors are those who write paranormal romances so sex scenes don't offend me. It makes a change from all the depressed detective stories I usually read but a lot of this blurred the lines with consensual for me. It reads very much like an S&M story but I don't know enough about that world to know where the blurred lines are. It's very much 'She doesn't want this, he gives her a spanking and does it anyway, turns out she likes it once she's had a go'. And he's forgiven because he's cute and he's trying to repopulate his species by buying a female slave bred purely to be an incubator for foetuses.
So I'm going thumbs in the middle for this one. I liked the style but just not sure about the content
I think this may have been my favorite one in this series! Of course, I do love a sexy geek, and this book has one!
I adore Dr Daneth! He is so cute and sexy, geeky yet dominant...its a great combination! And I felt so much for Bayla. My heart broke for what she had been through up to this point, and I really wanted to see things work out for her! I also loved seeing her boss Zander and Daneth towards the end of the book!! LOL
This is a series that just keeps getting better with each book! And to think, I never used to like alien romances!!
After enjoying His Himan Rebel more than expected, I was excited to keep going with this series. This book lacked the chemistry between the couple - too much master-slave dynamic outside the bedroom for my liking and don’t even get me started with the steamy scenes - it felt like he was coldly and defachedly molesting her half the time on an examination table. And worst of all, I couldn’t bring myself to even remotely find the “hero” sexy, zilch.
I think this is my least favorite book of the series, I just don’t like Daneth and the attraction between Daneth and Bayla was completely lost on me. It just felt a little bit forced. However, it’s nicely written and even though I never managed to connect with the main characters, I was impressed with the story flow and the rest of the tale about Zandians.
I was shocked at how absolutely passionate Daneth is in his story. Being a scientist for his race he seemed so clinical and cold in the other books. We see a completely different side to his character in this book. I expected him to learn how to feel passion and sensual awakening from his mate. Man was I totally shocked when he leaned into the pleasure and pain of dominating his mate. Daneth shocked me and had me laughing and shouting all through the book. This was that good. It's like reading an romantic alien soap opera. The action is used to introduce a new character for the next installment. The eroticism is on point and the female lead here is the perfect submissive balance for Daneth. Five stars, loved it! ☺
Although each of the books in this series is a standalone, there is the ongoing saga of populating the Zandian race, and reclaiming the planet of Zandia.
Daneth is a doctor cut off from his emotions who purchased Bayla solely for the purpose of breeding. He discovers Bayla ignites feelings he has never felt before. Bayla also exhibits feelings for Daneth never felt for her other breeders.
The alien and human have an intense relationship that requires Bayla's submission and a number of spankings. There is betrayal and punishment that occur. Bayla also shows Daneth her unexpected talent that helps prove she is so much more than just a breeder. Ultimately, you get a good story and a HEA.
I am looking forward to the next book in this series.
I voluntarily read and reviewed this Advanced Reader Copy.
Loved this one in the series.Bayla a very strong headed human is bought off a slave farm by A Scienctist-Dr Daneth from Zandian to produce children. These two together are on fire and I loved how both tried to resist and Daneth taking control and him feeling like he cant have more and is not worthy enough for love .I adored everything about him,he was one sexy beast. The plot was fantastic and the story just flowed right to the end. So if you like control with some BDSM this books for you. I voluntarily read a readers copy of this book
The Zandians are back ! A Zandian doctor buys a slave from a breeding farm for important experiments. Predictable outcome. Right? Well not quite. The scientific method quickly goes out the window and Dr. has to experience feelings that are new to him !!! And his slave turns out to be anything but. The cliffhanger at the end is sweet torture !!! Hurry up writing Ms Rose. I volontarily reviewed a ARC of this book.
Intriguing plot, strong heroine, alpha male without being jerk and different settings with alien theme. It was my first read in the series ( which i thought was standalone) .This book had all fun factor along with strong writing style but too much s** scenes. After some time it gets repetitive even though scenes are steamy. And also i wanted to see heroines reunion with her babies and an epilogue. May b that is in next book, so after finishing this book I didn’t feel satisfied.

His Human Vessel by Renee Rose is the fifth book in the Zandian Masters Series. Zandian is a planet who rules with BDSM rules. Meet Bayla is a human slave, selected for breeding and bought by an Zandian scientist, Daneth. What started as scientific experiment turns fast into a intensive BDSM relationship between Scientist and test object. This book contains seriously hot sex scenes, a stubborn hero and a headstrong heroine. I give 4 Stars and thank you Renee Rose.
This series keeps getting better with each book I read. The storyline is well thought out and put together. The characters have depth and are well written. The author keeps me on the edge of my seat. I can not wait to read the next book in this series.
Who knew Daneth was such a beast? It's always the quiet ones who surprise you. The Zandian tale grows thicker with the Ocretians declaring war, but Daneth and Bayla's story is sexy, delicious, and has a nice little twist or two.
I love this erotic sci/fi series by Renee Rose, and enjoy the unfolding story of the exiled Zandians and their Human mates. Daneth was, to me anyway, a bit of comic relief in the first book featuring Lamira and Zander, so it was interesting to have him become the hero in his own story. Unfortunately, this story lacked the usual emotional depth and wasn't quite as satisfying for me as the others. There were still plenty of well written, and very hot, punishment scenes, and it was lovely to visit the characters from previous stories, but I wasn't as invested in the relationship between Bayla and Daneth as I would like.
Bayla's character needed more back story in my opinion. It may have helped me understand the reason she was driven to tease Daneth, which didn't make much sense for a woman who had been a slave all her life and was determined not to get pregnant again. I also wish the ending had been a bit less abrupt.
Despite these points, the story was fun and held my interest from beginning to an ending that came far too soon.
I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
Is it HOT in here or is it just me?... HOLY HOT DOCTOR, Renee Rose has managed to deliver another Kindle scorching Zandian Master! Number five in the series, “His Human Vessel” turns up the palatial heat. The Zandian Masters series includes; smokin hot, purple/peach dominant aliens (with horns) strong, independent yet sweetly submissive earth women and superb world building. This series has it all; intense erotic heat, suspense and a beautiful love story! Professionally written, the narrative flows seamlessly and is incredibly fast paced (I literally could not put it down). The novel can be read as a standalone (but why would you want too!?) and builds on the background plot from the other novels in the series. Favorite couples are featured from previous novels with a lead into the next edition. I anxiously look forward to the next novel and sincerely hope it is not the last! Actually, I’ll be reading this series again while waiting impatiently for the next novel (yes, I stalk this award-winning author!).
I enthusiastically recommend “His Human Vessel” as well as the other novels in this series, I promise you will not be disappointed! *Disclaimer: No Kindles were harmed writing this review, prudishness is not allowed while reading “His Human Vessel” (For children 18 and over only!).
***Note: a prior review mentions a cliffhanger, all novels in this series are complete stories for the featured couple, including an HEA. No cliffhanger here, simply another step forward in the ever-evolving background plot.

The Zandians are back! This time Dr. Daneth is back and he's chasing his own HEA. He buys Bayla, a human breeding slave, to help with a breeding project. What he doesn't know is that Bayla doesn't want to go through another pregnancy where her child is taken from her. What she doesn't know is Daneth is trying something specific. He initially doesn't want her physically bred, but he does want her submission.
Even after all the times he's seen Zandian men changed by human women, he's sure that it's nothing that will happen to him. He's definitely met his match with Bayla. While she's ready to submit, she has a very strong will of her own and knows what she wants.
There is a definite HEA, some good news related to earlier books, and a hook to set up the next story in the series.
I did get an ARC for an honest review of this book.
I knew what I was getting into when I was accepting this book, so I am not going to complain that it is "dirty". No, I just wish there would have been a little bit better-developed storyline between all of the dirtiness. Still, there was some imagination behind the story, so it was not all bad. Warning for anyone else who is not used to this type of book - it is explicit! Which is fine, just please don't call it a romance novel.
What I really liked about this book was that Bayla was already a trained slave when Daneth purchases her. So I personally found it a good change in this series to have a female that didn't fight things so much. That's not to say she doesn't have a backbone. I just wish she had used it more smartly.
Daneth has made it his life's mission to repopulate his people. He was fortunate that he had convinced his queen to preserve some of her eggs and now he plans to use them with the most viable male his programs can find. All he needs is a human vessel to grow the baby. And that's where Bayla comes in. Daneth's programs say she is the best suited, so of course he goes and buys her. She just never would have ever expected his reaction to her.
Bayla isn't actually all that upset with her current situation. After all, she has never seen such opulence and been treated with care. She doesn't even mind her new master at all and how he makes her feel. The problem comes when she finds out what he intends to do with her. She has already had two babies taken from her and refuses to lose another. Determined to prevent this pregnancy from happening, she breaks any trust she had gained with Daneth and could have even caused another's miscarriage.
And that's the thing that bugs me here. Much like the last book, if the female would have simply said something the Zandian would have listened and understood. I get that authors do this to drum up the drama, but it just annoys the hell out of me instead because it's so stupid. One two minute conversation could save these characters days or more of suffering.
With Daneth releasing her and wanting her out of his sight, Bayla doesn't know what to do with herself. But she still wants to help the Zandian cause. So she heads out to the training pod to help as a medic of sorts there. Needless to say, she's not happy. When a reconnaissance mission goes bad, Daneth shows up to the pod to do what he can for the injured. Which also provided the chance for these two to make up and mate and yadda yadda happy couple.
We end with them finding one of Seke's daughters. And she's definitely not in a safe place, so it's time for a risky rescue mission.
In this book we get to (finally) see the doctor's story! Daneth, the Zandian doctor, purchases Bayla, a human breeder slave for his life-time experiment. Daneth has been obsessed with making sure his species propagates as there are no Zandian females of breeding age. This is why Prince Zander was matched with Lamira- Daneth found that she was the best genetic match for him to procedure the best offspring. Now, Daneth wants to complete his life-time goal of taking the remaining two Zandian eggs (that he preserved from one of the royal Zandian females), combine them with the best compatible Zandian male DNA (which happens to be two guards that are currently on their palatial pod) and implant the combined DNA into a breeder- in this case- Bayla.
Bayla is sick and tired of having her babies ripped from her. As a slave breeder she has never gotten the opportunity to raise the children herself. She had one human child and one-half Octo(however the bad aliens species is spelled). Determined to not let that happen- Bayla does whatever she has to in order to make sure she doesn't become pregnant against her will.
This is quite the read! The extremely reserved doctor Daneth, does, in fact, have feelings (whether he wants them or not). And because he is not used to these feelings Bayal brings out in him- there are many instances where he handles situations extremely poorly. This book might not be for everyone. There are heavy BDSM themes in here with harsh punishments. However, if you can make it to the end, you can see what truly happened and how this couple bridges the gap past the pain that they inflected on each other to reach their HEA.
Loved this story; it was definitely smoking hot! I need to take a break for a little bit after reading the first 5 books in this series in a row. This series has absolutely become like my favorite candy... I couldn't stop reading.
Yep, I have to admit: those purple guys kind of grow on you... After Lyndric and his human Cambry, I needed a new Zandian adventure. And where I liked the story of His Human Rebel, I really loved His Human Vessel.
Daneth is the ultimate nerdy scientist, obsessed with reproducing his Zandian race after their wipe-out from the planet. Bayla is nothing more than an experiment to save his race from extinction. He really doesn't understand emotions and the feisty Bayla really confuses him. When he spanks her to get her to obey, she gets turned on... And when he hurts her, she finds comfort in his arms afterwards.
Daneth really doesn't get it. And when he wants to rip off the head of his fellow Zandian guards for ogling Bayla, his brains just short circuits. He is just too cute.
Bayla is emotionally drained after having taken multiple children from her after giving birth to them. She is not able to bear another child only to have him taken from her. So, she really doesn't want to get pregnant. She recognizes the attraction Daneth has for her and she tries to use this at her advantage. And when she fails, the spanking for her inappropriate behaviour is just getting her turned on.
So when the opportunity arises for Bayla to stop being a reproductive vessel, she has a dilemma: stay with the dorky cute doctor and risk a pregnancy or leave and maybe find one of her lost children...
What will she chose and how will Daneth react? Find out in this hot and steamy fifth book of the Zandian series. Four out of five stars from me. With a thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.
Maybe a spoiler or two? Daneth, Cool, Smooth , Zandian Doctor, buys a breeding slave with the goal of using her to carry a pure Zandian baby from the egg of the last known Zandian female, the late 👑Queen. The father will be a Zandian soldier, not related to the royal family. He has only two eggs. He has chosen Bayla💋, a young human breeder slave to carry the precious embryo. Bayla💋👙 has had a rough life but not nearly as bad as Lamira, the agro slave from the First book. Bayla💋👙 has had two children, both which were taken from her and raised elsewhere. She doesn't want anymore if She isn't allowed to raise them, it's too heartbreaking💔. She is basically given to Daneth🐺🍌🌋✋ to treat however he wants. Bayla is very flirtatious, and she has Big Bad Alpha Daneth🐺🍌🌋✋ wrapped around her finger in no time, but she betrays all the Zandians by using herbs to abort the embryo because she doesn't want it if she can't keep it. Daneth🐺🍌🌋✋ is a dominant male and into bdsm✋✋✋. Bayla💋 is punished✋✋ for what she has done but he also is so infatuated with her, he makes love💓 to her and then offers her freedom, since his lifework and life dreams were destroyed along with the embryo. He is so angry, he destroys his laboratory, too. Bayla💋👙 leaves with her freedom and goes to work as a medic for the Zandian resistance against the Finn, but neither she nor Daneth🐺🍌🌋✋ can forget the bond they had. This ends in a CLIFFHANGER! So be prepared for another book!
Title: His Human Vessel - An Alien Warrior - Zandian Masters Book 5 Author: Renee Rose Publisher: Burning Desire Published: 6-1-2017 Pages: 132 Genre: Erotica Sub-Genre: Sci Fi; Romance; Paranormal ISBN: 9781547181384 ASIN: B071W8ZWCY Reviewed For NetGalley and Burning Desire Reviewer: DelAnne Rating: 4.5 Stars
Daneth, the master doctor of the Zandian race, is is search for a way to save his people from extinction. When his planet was conquered they lost all female of breeding age. The now used humans as breeders. Daneth had three precious eggs of their late queen and hopes to implant them into the human Bayla to produce a pure blood Zandian. Bayla had been used as a breeder before and she was not about to have another child snatched from her arms. The attraction between the two sides challenges the doctor's limits.
From the opening lines to the final pages you are held captive in the story. Renee Rose Weaves a story of a species of dominant males with little use for emotions; which the Zandians feel the humans have too many of. Daneth is about to get his comeuppance. Which is what I have been wafting for since his intro in book one "His Human Slave". My rating of "His Human Vessel" is 4.5 out of 5 stars.
My least favorite book in this series, and probably my least favorite book of all PNR books I’ve read. My low rating isn’t because of all the spankings/BDSM stuff. I’ve read plenty of other books in that genre and given them high ratings (e.g. The Midnight Doms series). But this book was simply awful. I don’t know why it has such a high average rating.
Personally, I’d say skip this book except for the last chapter. It resolves Lamira’s pregnancy and sets up the events to come in the next book. Otherwise, do yourself a favor and skip this one.
