Robyn Rychards grew up in the granola bowl of the United States, Boulder Colorado, a town filled with fruits, flakes and nuts. She considers herself a Jack-of-all-trades-master-of-none and has taught herself to sew, paint, play the piano, garden, cook, the list goes on. But now that her books are published, she’s thrilled to finally be considered a master of one. At least as much as a person can be, for the learning never really stops.

She feels her active imagination is a blessing and a curse, with the blessing far outweighing the curse since it has led her to fulfil her dream of writing for Harlequin. Robyn started writing stories when she was a teenager because she didn’t have enough books to read. Sometimes she finds it hard to believe that people are willing to pay her to do something she enjoys so much, but mostly she’s happy to have such a wonderful excuse not to cook and clean. And a job that means you can stay in your jammies as long as you want? Priceless.

The Bodyguard's Catch Robyn Rychards

I really enjoy second chance romances and this one is a great one this is the story of talented musician Jordyn Soulire who now wants to be a photographer and bodyguard Remo Vashenko, they were inseperable in school and so very happy, they also came from totally different backgrounds, but then Remo walked away Jordyn was devestated never knowing what happened to him or why.

Years later life has made big changes in their lives and they meet again in a bathroom with a celebrity breaking up in the backgrown they are thrown together and the spark is still there and it is now time for the truth and to give into the love that has never gone away. It is a very moving and beautiful story.

1. SECOND TIME'S THE CHARM
STORY-LINE: THE BODYGUARD'S CATCH BY ROBYN RYCHARDS:

In The Second Time's The Charm containing, The Bodyguards's Catch we find, Jordyn Souliere, who needs money desperately; then fate dropped an opportunity of a lifetime into her lap. Unfortunately, she will have to go against her principles to cash in on the photo's and video of famous singing artist Maximillian Chanteur's broke up with his girlfriend.

To make matters worse, her first love, Remo Vashenko is Chanteur's bodyguard. Remo left her without a word and never returned. Now, he is standing in front of her, grabbing her phone and hauling her out of the bathroom stall where she hid.

Can Remo and Jordy resolve this situation peacefully? Will Remo and Jordyn resolve old hurts and forge a new relationship? My romance book review of Second Time's The Charm, The Bodyguards Catch follows.

CHARACTERS, PLOTTING, AND DEVELOPMENT:

Although a sweet clean romance, The Bodyguard's Catch, also has a mystery. Remo, the poor kid from the other side of the tracks, fell in love with Jordyn in high school. But a crisis forced him to make a choice which left Jordyn still hurting years later.

With an intriguing plot and well-developed characters, Rychards, crafted a first-rate romance as she slowly reveals the reason for his desertion. The scenes flowed seamlessly and with the pace in line with the length of the book, the reader will love this story.

Authors can not develop novellas with the same depth as a novel due to their short length. However, Rychards skillfully crafted a well-developed story-line and characters. I would not hesitate to buy this book for my self or a friend.
THE BODYGUARD'S CATCH: RECOMMENDATION: STARS 4

2. SECOND TIME'S THE CHARM
STORY-LINE: KISS ME, TROUBLE BY HOLLY CORTELYOU:

In Kiss Me, Trouble, we find Alix Porter. Work-alcoholic, driven, and almost emotionally spent. Alex takes a break with her friend, after a business conference, in Wescott Springs, Colorado. By a cruel twist of fate, her love from college, Cole McCaffrey's hanging one of his paintings in the resort.

All the old memories and hurts rise in Alix. Why did Cole break up at the drop of a hat and leave her? Will they be friends and maybe something more? My romance book review of Kiss Me, Trouble follows.

CHARACTERS, PLOTTING, DEVELOPMENT:

Cortelyou created an emotional story in Kiss Me, Trouble. Alix's character, driven and owned by her work, needed this break even if she would not admit it. However, meeting Cole ripped the scab off an old wound and hurt resulted. I could feel her emotions as she faced Cole for the first time in six years.

The attraction and love is still there for both. However, can they once again find what Cole threw away? Will they rekindle their love? Cole's seen as a man who made a bad decision and regrets the hurt he caused and losing the love of his life.

The slow unfolding of the reason Cole left, keeps the reader glued to the pages. Including the abandoned pup added an extra element to the story. The pace of the book's in line with the length of story and with well-developed characters, Cortelyou crafted a good story.

Her descriptions of the area were so vivid I could see the area in my mind's eye, feel the breeze and smell the forest trails. I would not hesitate to buy this book for myself or friend.
KISS ME, TROUBLE RECOMMENDATION: STARS 4

So, with ring in his pocket they set off. But will all work out as Bruce hopes or will his plans crash? My romance book review of Hidden Desire follows.

CHARACTERS, PLOTTING, DEVELOPMENT:

Dixon crafted a wonderful romance in Hidden Desire. Bringing the characters from best friends and revealing their interest in each other held my attention from the first page. Seeing Bruce as a man who so loved Sandra he's willing to do anything to take their situation to the next level was heart warming; Dixon created a character in Bruce we could all relate. His journey took him 5 years to get where he's today, and he wants Sandra with him for all his successes and returning his love.

Creating a whirl wind trip full of surprises, Dixon gives Sandra the trip of a lifetime. As Dixon revealed Bruce to Sandra, she comes to know a different side of Bruce; the successful business side and his loving side. Which Sandra finds she likes.

4. SECOND TIME'S THE CHARM
STORY-LINE: THIS TIME AROUND BY T. S. SHARP

In This Time Around, we find Victoria and Dillon, high school sweethearts in love and plans to go to the same college, Duke. To say things did not work as Victoria thought they would, is an understatement. Leaving her a note, Dillon left for Berkley; Victoria's world fell apart. "Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me". Victoria's devastated again and burns the letter without reading the content. Why did Dillon leave again? Will these two star-crossed lovers ever come together? My romance book review of This Time Around follows.

CHARACTERS, PLOTTING, DEVELOPMENT:

Sharp created an emotional roller coaster ride in This Time Around. I could feel the emotions rolling from Victoria when she met Dillon again; anger being foremost. Sharp infused this book with emotion. I felt so sorry for Victoria, her pain and disillusionment's heart breaking.

But have no fear, Sharp skillfully brought Dillon back into the picture. Revealing the reasons for his abrupt departure, I could feel his desperation for Victoria to understand and return his love. Sharp's skillful plotting and well-developed characters kept me quickly turning the pages.

As a result of including a protective sister, Sharp added an extra element to the story. A sweet romance which has a mild love scene, this book will entertain the reader. I would not hesitate to buy this book for my self or a friend.
THIS TIME AROUND RECOMMENDATION: STARS 4

5. SECOND TIME'S THE CHARM

In I Love You Again, we find Trina and Brad in Hawaii; participants in the same wedding. Trina dreamed of having the kind of love the future bride and groom have. Her worse date during the last year, Captain Chicken Feet, was a disaster and the few others were not much better.

As coincidences go, this was a dilly. However, Brad a had a very good reason for leaving as he did. Fate has intervened, will these two find the love they lost so long ago? My romance book review of I Love Again follows.

CHARACTERS, PLOTTING, DEVELOPMENT:

In I love You Again, the reader finds a another great romance story. Infused with emotion, you will experience the characters intense feelings. Gray skillfully portrayed Trina's betrayal and Brads heart-felt confession. Trina recognizes the how far she had gone to shield herself from further hurt; as well as, the fact no one considered what she wanted in all of this. She felt betrayed all over again.

This story will invoke intense emotions in the reader as you find Brad...well that would be a spoiler. So I will just say, you will love this book. With pacing correct for the length of the book and well-developed characters, this book will entertain anyone who loves a solid romance. Also, the authors descriptions of Hawaii were so vivid, I could see the scenery in my mines eye.

I feel I must say, I found a few editing error in this story which did not take away from my enjoyment in any way. However, it could be the way the book downloaded to my e Reader. Errors have occurred in the past due to download error. I would not hesitate to buy this book for my self or a friend.
I LOVE YOU AGAIN RECOMMENDATION: STARS 4

The Bodyguard’s Catch by Robyn Rychards

This is part of an anthology about men and women who have known each other before and had had some kind of relationship. I like this trope because, since the characters already know each other, they already have feelings for each other. This allows the author to begin the book with conflict.

I, also, like anthologies because, even though they are very short, they give me a chance to find some new authors. And that is what happened with story. I discovered Robyn Rychards.

This is a short novella about Jordyn and Remo who knew each other years ago when they were younger. They were in love and had planned to meet the next morning. Unfortunately, Remo and his family left town without a word to anyone. Jordyn never heard from him again until now. She was heartbroken and angry.

Robyn Rychards. The Bodyguard's Catch.
Jordyn Souliere and Remo Vashenko had gone to his school together and were in love. One day he was gone without a word to Jordyn. Years later Jordyn is in the bathroom at Spago's when she hears her idle Maximillian Chanteur is the restroom arguing with his girlfriend. She cautiously takes some photos and a video. She hates the thought of selling them, but her father has cut her off any money. Remo opens the bathroom door and grabs her phone. They are both shocked to see each other.

This is a good short book about second chances and one person not feeling good enough for the other because of his past. There is also heartbreak in the story and how it is handled. Jordyn is a strong willed person who can be very independent.

Holly Corelyou. Kiss Me, Trouble
Cole McCaffrey and Alix Porter fell in love in college, but wanted to be on separate sides of the US. Cole was an artist an wanted to paint in LA and make a name for himself. Alix was into finance and wanted to go to New York City, work on Wall Street, and make lots of money. So Cole did what he thought was best and told Alix he found someone else, so Alix was heartbroken and left. Six years later Alix comes to Wescott Springs Resort for a vacation and runs into Cole who is living there. Cole is trying to think how he can make it all up to Alix as he is still in love with her.

It was a sweet second chance book where two people had grown up and could look at life differently. Alix seeing Cole and spending time with him was able to see some things from a different point of view. It was a good short story.

Ja'Nese Dixon. HiddenDesire
Bruce Daniels has been in love with Sandra for years now. They are best friends and he has been there for her whenever she needed something. She is a little older than him, but he doesn't care. He has neglected to tell her that his father is Jared Daniels a multi millionaire in the music business. Bruce has found in the past that people treat him different when they find out who his is. He is ready to sign a big deal and wants Sandra by his side as his love, not just his best friend. It was a good sweet short love story.

T. S. Sharp. This Time Around
Victoria Summers is afraid to love after Dillon Peterson her high school sweetheart broke her heart. Ten years later Victoria is a schoolteacher and is loving it, but doesn't go out much. Her sister talks her into going to the Bahama's with her. They are having a good time when Andrea has to leave for work, but insists Victoria stay and have fun. The next day she runs into Dillon running on the beach as he is staying in a hotel nearby. She gives him the brush off. He feels bad how he left her years ago and wants to explain and ask for forgiveness. There are still some misunderstandings between the two.

Khardine Gray. I Love You Again
Trina who is a surgeon is in Hawaii attending a wedding for her best friend. When she met the best man, she couldn't believe it was Brad. She had loved Brad eleven years ago and he left town without telling her. Brad had an awful childhood and Trina's father Jim had helped him and loved him. Brad had hard feelings from how his parents treated him and started stealing. Jim tried to talk talk to him and guide him. Things happened that you will need to read about that caused him to leave. Years later they both love each other, but Trina is still hurt and wants to know what happened. It was a good second chance love story with two good friends helping them out.
This was a good anthology that I encourage you to read. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader's Copy of this anthology.

THE BODYGUARD'S CATCH by Robyn Rychards of the Second Time's the Charm book.
Jordyn Souliere was not the paparazzi. She had not thought of taking pictures however the opportunity happened to fall into her lap.
She was in the restroom of a famous L.A. restaurant when there was also in same restroom, fiancée, Sasha Gomez, of the famous Maximillian Chanteur. Now she was not to over hear this being dumped by Maximillian as he had walked into the room. She was peeking out from behind a door of a stall and heard it all and saw it all. She had a front row seat literally. In a little while another man burst into the women’s restroom, none other than Remo who she knew quite well. Reno is Maximillian’s body guard.
Jordyn had videotaped the whole conversation but once Remo came in she turned off her phone.
Remo tries to get them out and into a private auto and away to a private spot to finish discussing it before paparazzi came in. However, Sasha now reveals she will not go with and has announced that she is leaving with Adam (who is Maximillian’s friend and road manager) and they are going to Dubai the next day.
She had to cash in on this, her father had literally cut her off totally and she needed cash.
Remo left Sasha leave first. Holding onto Maximillian and then Maximillian literally decides to use the facility since he is in there already and of all doors to open Remo opens the same stall as Jordyn is in, and does after a few seconds recognize her.
Remo grabs Jordyn’s arm and pulls her out. Too late she remembers that phone is still in her hand.
Remo at first cannot think straight since that was his first crush he had discovered. He grabs the phone and refuses to give it back and states that she is coming with them and that she will do exactly as he says.
That is enough of the story to catch your attention. Please enjoy the reading and you will not be disappointed.

Holly Cortelyou Kiss Me, Trouble - LOVE!

So far, I have only read Holly Cortelyou’s book Kiss Me, Trouble. I will update my review when I’ve read the others too.

Six years ago Cole broke Alix’s heart (and his own heart too). He was SUCH a fool then!!! Making decisions for her...

They are a bit older now and a lot wiser. Luckily Cole sees the error of his ways. But Alix needs to learn a thing or two too.

The blurb promises a sweet and spicy story. And it is! Very sweet and not very spicy, but just enough!

I really liked Alix and Cole. The absolute best part of this book were the conversations between them. I loved the easy and seemingly effortless banter between them (at least, after the initial shock of meeting each other again after six years), even when they were arguing. What are the odds of meeting each other in Wescott Springs? You might call it fate. Can Alix let Cole back into her heart?

Another plus: I like hiking and nature and animals, so it was nice that those things all played a role in this book. And I liked the message that’s in this book: take your nose out of your phone a bit more and enjoy the world around you. It has so much to offer!

The book is sweet and charming. You just really want Cole and Alix to work it out, because they’re so cute together! There is something comforting in knowing this is working its way towards a happy ending. Feel good!

Favorite quote: “It wasn’t like she was going to fall in love with Cole”. Ha!

I received a complimentary copy of this book and voluntarily provided an honest review.

So far I have read and enjoyed The Bodyguard’s Catch by Robyn Rychards and Kiss Me, Trouble by Holly Cortelyou. I truly like the “second time’s the charm”; so far the timing just wasn’t right the first time in what I have read. After reading the first two books, I am rating the set a 5-star until I have read the rest and add to my review.
The Bodyguard’s Catch by Robyn Rychards was a well written short story with six chapters that can be read in one sitting. I like that it is written with everyday troubles and normal doubts. The story-line was good and the characters were developed. There are mistakes, regrets, doubts and love. I really enjoyed this story. This is the first book by Robyn Rychards I have read.
Kiss Me, Trouble by Holly Cortelyou is also a short story but is a little longer with thirteen chapters that can be read in one sitting. Holly wrote this with true human feelings and doubts surfacing. There are chance meetings, a puppy, a bakery, mistakes, and love. I really liked the story-line and the characters were developed. Holly wrote another winning story.
I did receive an ARC but voluntarily read and gave my honest and fair review.

This review is for Kiss Me, Trouble - only one of the stories in this collection. I haven't yet read the rest, but will definitely be doing that!

This is a novella in the Wescott Springs series, which I have followed. Coincidence has Alix running into her old flame Cole at a resort in Colorado. There are still hard feelings on her part as he left her right after college for LA and another woman. What she doesn't know is that Cole lied about there being another woman just to break their relationship off so Alix would follow her career dreams and he thought he would hold her back. Cole still loves her deeply and knows this is his only opportunity to tell her the truth and see if they can start over. I found their story to be a great second-chance romantic read that I really enjoyed and would highly recommend.

I did receive an ARC of this book from the author, but my review of the book is honest and voluntary.

Haven't we all wished we could have a second chance with a past love? I bought this book for Kiss Me, Trouble by Holly Cortelyou and stayed for the rest. Although each story involves a lie or omission destroying a relationship, Kiss Me Trouble was especially engaging. Alix works in investment banking, a job that is losing its luster after several years. Cole, her college love, is an artist with a gallery and graphic arts business to boot. They reconnect when his art attacks her. Alix is immediately on the defensive, very understandable due to their messy breakup before graduation . Cole is happier to see her. This is his chance to rectify a wrong. The story settled multiple issues and revealed that Cole had the right perspective regarding their after-college plans, even though his execution was flawed.

Each of these five novellas has a lot to say about there being two sides to every story and the healing power of a second chance. Great value for the money.

My review is for Kiss Me Trouble.

Alix thought a nice vacation in Wescott Springs before returning to NYC was rejuvenate her. She had no idea that she would cross paths with the person who broke her heart six years ago.

Cole has settled down in Wescott Springs after realizing his dream of living California was more of a nightmare. He was shocked to see Alix in WS but knew he had to apologize for breaking her heart and confess his sins to the woman he still loved.

This was a wonderful second-chance romance novella. Your heart is no match for Alix, Cole, and a precious puppy!

I'll be reading the remaining entries in this box set as soon as possible.

A beautiful bundle of second chances....Each story is rich with heartbreak and loss of love, trust and each other. Each unique story will wind you in it's web of despair over rejection, wrong choices and being forced apart but then the beauty of this bundle is the characters and their willingness to try again. Totally shreds your heart then bit by bit, struggle by struggle mend it again....I loved every page!! I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book!

So far the only book I have read in this set is Kiss Me, Trouble by Holly Cortelyou. I am a sucker for second chance romances. This story finds Alix alone at a mountain resort on get-away. She never expects to run into a certain male and have it bring back all kinds of questions and feelings. Was her career really that important? What will she and Cole do with their second chance? I liked this story and it is a quick enjoyable read.

I'm still in the process of reading all the novellas but wanted to put out my review of Holly Cortelyou's latest romp through Westcott Springs, Colorado.
This little town and its residents are people I want to meet and become best friends with. The story of Cole and Alix is all encompassing and comes to a satisfying HEA.
Truth be told, I have a slight crush on Cole. (Don't tell my husband 😁) Keep up the great storytelling, Holly.

What a fun boxed set to read at the beach! I especially like the book Kiss Me, Trouble by Holly Cortelyou that is included with the boxed set. I liked it because it is about second chances with college sweethearts who go their separate ways when they graduate and put their work ahead of relationships and love. Of course all of the other books are about second chances which is one of my favorite tropes. You can't go wrong with this boxed set!

I read this for Holly Cortelyou's Kids Me Trouble. Cole and Alex were in love in college but they had different dreams. Cole wanted to be an artist and Alix wanted a career in Wall Street. These are great characters and their interactions are both fun and dramatic. Watching them fall back in love is a treat. Great story!

So far I have really enjoyed my ARC of Second Time’s the Charm box set. I especially enjoyed Kiss Me, Trouble by Holly Cortelyou. Returning to the Wescott Springs series is like visiting a favorite vacation spot. The reunion between Alix and Cole was a fun summer read. Can’t wait to read the rest of the second chance stories.

This boxed set of summer romances is a fun, easy-breezy read. My favorite story is "Kiss Me, Trouble" by Holly Cortelyou. It's a sexy tug-of-war love story as sweet as the raspberry cream tarts from the bakery that stars in the tale. You'll want to gobble it down in one sitting just to find out how it ends. Does love prevail? You'll have to see. Everyone deserves a second chance at love.

The Bodyguard’s Catch by Robyn Rychards is a quick, witty and well developed story. Remo and Jordyn were high school sweethearts but Remo broke up with Jordyn and years later she is still struggling to understand why. When they meet again under strange circumstances, they get their chance to clear the air and try again.
It was a great story and I recommend it to any romance lover.

Really enjoyed Holly's story and a another visit to Wescott Springs. These stories are very sweet clean quick reads. Likeable couples getting their HEA.

REVIEWING: THE BODYGUARD CATCH by Robyn Rychards

3 1/2 STARS!

A reunion story of high school flames! Short and sweet, with not a lot of substance to the story, but an interesting read.
