The Boys Next Door

Rate this book
Diana Cooper is 18, eager to graduate and go to Yale, and too shy to really look a boy in the eye. No one suspects the sexy lingerie hiding under her vintage dresses. No one suspects the dirty fantasies running through her mind.

Brendan and Ian O'Brian, the hot twins next door, are home from UConn for the summer: gorgeous, athletic, basking in popularity. Brendan, the "good twin," attracts everyone with easygoing friendliness. Ian, the "bad twin," leaves a mess of pranks, collisions, girls, and attitude behind.

As kids, the O'Brian twins were practically Diana's brothers. But a year away changed everything. Now, Di can barely handle a hello to Brendan. And Ian — well, it’s easier to look the other way and pretend she doesn’t see his smirk.

Right before graduation, Brendan breaks the silence to invite Di for a swim. She figures she’ll test the waters, but that night pulls her into the steamiest deep end imaginable. And it’s just the beginning.

Can she dive in and live out her fantasies?

Can she let the past go and learn to trust?

And when no one’s who they seem — good twin, bad twin, or shy honors student — will her heart tell a different story?

She’d never admit it. But she might be over her head.

~Second Read so I can finally finish this scorching series!~

Diana never imagined that fantasies could become reality. Hidden behind retro clothing and glasses, she uses them to shield her voluptuous curves and crushing shyness.

She might stutter with boys in person, but in her fantasies she was wanton, confident, all woman and all about sex.

On the cusp of graduating high school and heading to Yale, she hadn't expected her friendship to be rekindled with the boys next door. Diana and the O'Brien twins were once thick as thieves. That was until her insecurities consumed her and changed the person the boys thought they knew.

When Brendan and Ian are given an opportunity to welcome Diana back into their lives, they'll not waste this chance. Ian and Brendan have lusted over their little neighbor Diana for a long time. With the opportunity to initiate her into the world of intimacy and sensual pleasures, will this remain a dirty little secret?

“Let us take care of you, Diana,” Brendan whispered. He was right up against her now, cupping her chin like he was about to kiss her again. Something brushed against her leg underwater — his bare cock?
“You need experience. You need to get over your shyness. We can help you.”

Believe me when I tell you, a fire extinguisher is required! I've forgotten how scorching hot and well written this menage is. I really liked how you saw a different side to all three characters and how sexy this author made their hookups. I didn't even care that this was technically YA erotica?!

Ok. So this is the longest erotic romance that I’ve ever read. There is a new adult love story weaved into this one, but it isn’t complex and it isn’t the biggest part of the story. This is probably 75% sex, 20% thinking about sex, and 5% new adult love story. The heroine is experiencing her sexual awakening, and the twins are doing something that seems to be old hat for them, but is something different this time?

Pretty good if you’re looking for erotic romance with a BIT of story along with it.

Was this book hot? Yes. Yes, it was.If that's all you're looking for in a story, then go right on ahead. I'm sure you'll love it.

But, if you're a little more picky with your erotica, like myself, maybe you won't find this book all that alluring.

First issue I had with this book, Diana's over the top horniness. It just wasn't normal. Or healthy. I'm all for a strong sexual drive, but masturnating in a school bathroom stall? First, gross. And second, control your urges, woman! I couldn't suspend my disbelief and get into it because of how completely ridiculous it was. But then again, everything in this whole story was absolutely blown out of proportion and far fetched. Let me tell you, nothing in this story was even remotely relatable. And that made it impossibly hard to connect with the characters.

Second issue, the 'shy' girl having a sex bomb body. Because, why? Girls can't be sexy without huge boobs, huge asses and tiny waists? What a joke.

Third, it made me super uncomfortable how she kept saying no, and the guys kept pushing her to do whatever they wanted. No means no. And forcing someone to do something, no matter if they end up liking it later, is not cool. Or hot. Or sexy. Just, no. Wait for her to decide she's ready to try new stuff out and tell you as much.

Lastly, so as not to make this impossibly long, the over use of the same dang handful of adjectives time and again drove me up the wall. If I had to read the word creamy one last time I was gonna scream. And also, meaty? Seriously? That's never a sexy word to describe anything. Ever. This is the problem when books have too many sex scenes, the descriptions get so. damn. repetitive. Like, please go get a synonyms dictionary. I'll just wait here.

Why couldn’t this just be a filthy MFM erotica? The author made some questionable decisions to try and give this a plot. And I kind of hated how this went from MFM to MF out of the blue. The smut was hot but the last part made me really mad 😅

Actual rating: 2.5 out of 5 stars

This is far the most lascivious book I read and it surprised me in all levels unimaginable. Reading the synopsis which I thought very simple and innocent, was actually a long and painful thing to read.

The intensity of the story was actually quite good but it was all sex and I'm looking for a little story, a drama that could give me a punch to make more senses to what was going on with the twins playing “the good twin”and “the bad twin”.

I like the first few chapters where the author introduced her characters to her readers. I know it was where the getting to know part should started but as I went on, I knew there's missing elements which I always looked for in every genre I read.

I have waited for events that could make the foundation of the story more interesting but when all of that happened, the right for me to know more about the characters got snatched too soon, the same way how it was replaced by the explicity of all the scenes that went after. I was looking for an actual conversation which I felt very limited to Diana's screams of aaaaah's and ‘yes'.

Every chapter was like a razor—sharper, intense and engaging all at the same time which got me frustrated because honestly, I'm rooting for Ian and I could state the obvious. While I liked how the story ended, I wish the threesome hotness stopped sooner rather than later.

I love how the author was able to write in a very vivid narrative. A sketch that was too detailed but an abstract painting of colors splashed into a black canvas—my only way to describe the story as a whole.

I don't exactly loved it but I don't hate it either. Maybe it was just too much for me to absorb.

DNF @ 15% - chapter one has the Horniest Shy Barely Legal Virgin Who Ever Perved losing her technical v-card to the Hunky Twins Next Door. That’s right. They are double teaming her and she’s taking it like a champ in CHAPTER ONE. Two hours earlier she experienced her first kiss. 🤡 I was rolling my eyes at her exaggerated blow up doll physical description and laughing out loud when she shimmied up a tree buck naked to get to the treehouse where her deflowering was to take place. 👀🤣 I mean it’s a great opportunity for the twin on the ground to stare up into her Untried Depths, but can you imagine the splinters and tree bark in her lady business? 😬😬😬😬

So I ran to the reviews to see if it gets better, and sadly, I see that it doesn’t. They even invite other women into their threesome. 😐 I can tell the Hs aren’t j/p, so that’s the end of the road for me. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I loved Priceless. I hope the author writes more along those lines. Something with a j/p hero, a plot, and a relatable heroine. I’d even welcome an MFM, but I need it to be exclusive and not a free-for-all. More romance and less lame cliche porn.

An erotic fantasy brought to life!

So, it's possible that I've read a lot of smutty books in my time. Though there's no proof (ahem - check my reviews/ratings), I'll admit to loving a good menage smut romp. And this one didn't disappoint; in fact, it exceeded my expectations.

It had a nice hunters and prey vibe to it that I loved. Diana is the seemingly innocent virgin.
What would the guys at school say if they knew the shy girl who buttoned her retro dresses to the collar . . . had fantasized about fucking most of them?
And Ian and Brendan are the rebellious, popular, older twins next door who pull Diana out of her shell and have her living out her fantasies.

The author did an excellent job of capturing Diana's innocence; and the twins had a great predatory edge to them that was kept just on the right side of romance. And of course, the sex was smoking hot!

So while I didn't agree with everything that went on and some of my least favorite words run rampant in this one, there's no denying that it contains everything that makes for great erotica - heat, interesting characters who grow over the course of the plot, and TWINS. What could be better? Can't wait for the sequel!

This book is so good. Not sure the cover does it justice (it just doesn't scream erotica or happy endings to me), but this is definitely erotic romance, though perhaps slightly more erotica than romance. There were moments when my heart was is in my throat, and if ever a book needed an epilogue, this would be it. (Not because the ending wasn't satisfying -- it was -- I just wanted more time to savour the HEA/HFN.) I do wonder what the story could have been if we saw some of it from the twins' POV. On one hand, I love that in Diana's narration we're never quite certain where the boys stand; on the other hand, I'm a sucker for male POV in romance, and the dynamic between the twins was so interesting I wouldn't have minded seeing more of it. I've read this story 3 times now, and it's definitely a keeper.

One of the best erotic stories I have read. MFM and MFMFF scenes.

Diana is the straight laced valedictorian and Brendan & Ian are her smoking hot/popular twin neighbours. They were once best friends until circumstances separated them. A few weeks before graduation a reunion turns into a kiss, which turns into so much more. It's some of the best written and hottest MFM I have read. Add in a scene where the threesome are joined by 2 extra women and you better have a partner or BOB handy. Seriously, it's a fantastic filthy adventure.

It's also got an actual story with relatable characters, genuine emotions and plenty of laughs - it's a really fantastic read. I loved it.

I received an ARC of this book.

God it was going soooo good until the author made the mistake of turning this into a romance.

I literally went noooooooo when i realized the last 30% of this she was trying to get her with one of the twins.

Ngl it was spicyyyyyy and the good kind not the boring. Bland . Kind.

Would have been a better read had it just been a little smutty novella.

Also just a quick little take away usually sharing etc doesn’t bother and in this case it didn’t much but the more I read stuff like this the more I realize don’t always prefer the brother/brother sharing together thingy.

Mostly because the authors alwyasss wanna make the ay-okay with the brothers fucking together 24/7

Idk I guess maybe it’s just not that believable to me coming from a big family that a lot of authors seem to think brothers are always gonna be 💯 okay with sharing.

Holy shit!!!!! That's literally the only thing I could say when I finished reading The Boys Next Door. Silver did a superb job. I'm speechless and that doesn't happen often.

If you're looking for a steamy read, this is your book. There's threesomes, toy play, g/g, and so much more. Lawdy, you'll need an ice bath after this.

Diana Cooper is 18, about to graduate and head off to Yale. She's super shy, and can barely look a boy in the eye. So Nobody suspects the fantasies she has, the sexy lingerie she owns. So when her neighbors sexy twins Brendan & Ian walk back into her life, her world gets rocked. In the most satisfying ways. They help her learn to open up and let go. To fully become herself. Along the way truths come out, and feelings get thrown around.

Brendan is the "good twin" that feels the need to take care of everyone, while putting his own feelings on the back burner.

Ian is the "bad twin" that everyone just sees as a trouble maker. The guy that people don't want Diana wasting her time on. However, he might just be the one person to compliment her the best. I absolutely LOVE Ian. He's my favorite of the twins. He's the one people would usually write off, when they should give him a chance. :)

Diana... she's just someone that got wronged in HS. She's the valedictorian, heading off to Yale. The good girl with so many fantasies and secrets. Secrets that she's more than welcome to share with the twins. She starts out as a turtle scared to come out of its shell, and by the end she's walking around with her head held high. Was good to see her growth as a character.

I highly recommend this steamy read.

5 stars from me!

This book was randomly recommended to me because of just now nice one of these brothers is with his words, and it did NOT disappoint!! There isn't much plot to this one, but I really enjoyed it as a book and less as pure porn, all the same.

Fantastic Debut

My book bestie suggested this book to me and I was captivated by the story right from the start.

This is a menáge story like no other I have read . It deals with what is to be a twin, the twin dynamics , misconceptions and how they maneuver the people around it. And of course, because it's a twin menáge romance , we see the interactions between the two brothers and the heroine . This is a rousing, steamy hot 🔥almost scorching tale of discovery, body acceptance and growing up.

I enjoyed reading this book and looking forward reading book 2 .

I did enjoy this book. I do feel it would have been ever better had it had more of a story in between all the sex. It would have been great to see things from Brenden and Ian's POV. I felt like the book was also written in third person about Di and that it could have been written through more of her own self. Early on in the book I pretty much guessed that Ian loved Di and am really glad the story ended on a good note. There were so many different ways the story could of went. I was so afraid it was not going to end in the way I hoped. I look forward to reading the next book and I hope its just as great! Thanks for allowing me to review this book in exchange for my review.

This story had a lot of potential, but suffered from poor character development and an anemic plot. The basic premise was great; Diana, a teenage girl graduating high school is desperate to explore her sexuality but is repressed due to a past traumatic experience. When her childhood friends and next door neighbors, the O'Brien twins, come back from college for the summer, they help her get over her fears and explore her true nature but things get complicated when she starts developing feelings for one twin in particular. The bones of it include a really lovely coming of age story and touches on the harm that comes from repressing parts of ourselves in order to meet or buck other peoples expectations. The problem is that Silver merely glosses over these themes in the brief intervals between the many extensive, detailed sex scenes. Don't get me wrong; the sex scenes were steamy and I was delighted by the sex positive attitudes and consistent use of enthusiastic consent throughout. However, the sheer number and length of them made for a tedious read after awhile and left me skimming pages in my effort to get back to the story. I think the books quality would been greatly improved if there had been more focus on the characters emotional development, not to mention the fascinating dynamic between the twins as they each played up their self-assigned roles of good twin and bad twin. I could have read a whole book about nothing but their strange co-dependency and how they manipulated others perceptions of them. Alas, I had to settle for an under-cooked sex romp, with an admittedly sweet ending.

Book: The Boy's Next Door
Rating: 1.5 stars
The one thing I will get out of this book is that Ian is the BAD twin and Brendan is the GOOD twin. Like wtf??? The amount of times I was reminded of this fact in this book drove me crazy, if I took a shot everytime they said that I would be way beyond drunk by the end of this book.

Gosh, where do I even start? I decided to read all of Miranda Silver's books because Priceless was soo good and I wanted more erotic reads. But, I am sorry Miranda but the stupidity of this book drove me insane. I felt I was reading one of those cringy wattpad books, the plot was so obvious the whole time. Actually scratch that, what plot? All they did was have sex the WHOLE time. If they were not having sex believe me, they were thinking about it.

To me these two brothers were way too fine with having constant threesomes with Diana. It was kind of weird to me tbh. And sometimes she would refer to them as her big brothers, of course she was joking but still??

and at the end oh really she picked ian? Like that was not obvious the whole time. I knew before I read the book who she would pick but even if I didn't, you basically knew it was going to be Ian the whole time.

There are so many small things that I want to say that bothered me but in all I didn't like it because of how immature it was.

Let alone all I can say is that Miranda is the queen of smut, if the smut was not good this book would have gotten 1 star. But the smut was really good, and I will read the next one just for the smut and to see how the story ends.

I first heard about The Boys Next Door at the same time I was able to read the book, which I'm happy to say I liked a lot. So much that I didn't want to finish, hence how long I spaced this book out. Miranda Silver does a great job with giving us a coming out of your shell story mixed with some pretty wild fantasies that I bet anyone would love to star in.

Diana is the shy girl who uses all her time to study and makes sure there's no time for fun. Past experiences made her scared of everyone, especially guys, which kept her from staying in touch with her next door neighbors, who all three grew up together always hanging out. One day the twins decide to gain their friend back, which starts a crazy journey for Diana that she couldn't turn back from even if she wanted to.

What I really liked about The Boys Next Door is how vivid the scenes are. It was like I was the one in place of Diana, which who wouldn't want to be. Diana was also very relatable, someone who just wanted to know her place but didn't know how to find it. I also liked Brendan and Ian, they really knew how to take care of someone. The only thing I didn't like was how fast everything started. I wanted a bit more backstory in the beginning and even though you learn a lot throughout the book, I wanted more to work with at first without having to guess why things were happening.

All in all I love I was able to read this book. The Boys Next Door was a crazy ride that I recommend to anyone who loves erotic tales. I was also very happy with how the story ended and can't wait for more to come. Miranda Silver is an author to look out for and I hope plenty like this book as much as I did.

This book was five-alarm-fire hot! Loved every page! Miranda Silver really has a winner with this book! Lucky girl Diana grew up next door to Brendan and Ian and they were best friends from before kindergarten. The three were inseparable until Diana's family moved away for a year in junior high. That year changed her life completely and when she returned the next year the relationship with the brothers just wasn't the same.
Until right before her high school graduation...the brothers had returned from college and reconnected with her. And oh boy, did they reconnect!! Holy crap! Things got super hot between them as they tried to get Diana to open up and be her true self.
The ending was not quite what I expected, but I absolutely loved it! Soooo excited that there will be a sequel! This book definitely deserves a sequel! Thanks for such a great read Miranda!

This is a hot, smoking first time for lots book. Diana has known the O'Brian twins for years, but time away put a rift between them she couldn't admit to. They stopped being friends until one faithful summer night just before she graduated.

Brendan got her started but Ian took over. The twins took her to pleasure levels she'd only fantasied about and added sexual experience that she hadn't.

She learned a lot including that she was possessive of Ian. She cared about Brendan but if he wasn't there or he did things with others it didn't bother her but with Ian it did.

After a misunderstanding she stopped it all, and Ian withdrew. Until they both took a risk with their hearts and opened up. Ian was secretly in love with her the entire time, and she fell for him too.

Now that they've decided it's not all one evil and all one good, what will happen to the twins, and Diana's newly acquired experience.... I so cannot wait for the sequel.

I originally discovered this story on an erotic literature site- so glad the author mentioned she published the story. Throughly enjoyed it, cannot wait to see the romance blossom and grow. Will Ian be her future? What will happen with him? With Brendan? With University?
