Meeting Prince Charming

Rate this book
Georgie Danners is a nerd and proud of it. She is also the proud owner of Bookish, a bookshop/cafe in the small Northern Tablelands town of Oxley Crossing. She loves all things books and movies and computer games and has a soft spot in her heart for one of Australia’s greatest exports, Connor Faulkes, aka Prince Charming.
Connor Faulkes, movie star, is happy to spend the next six weeks with his Gran while she recuperates from a fall that resulted in a broken leg. It would give him an opportunity to have some down time before the filming on his next movie starts and he might even be able to squeeze in some rock climbing if he’s really lucky. What he did not expect was to run into, literally run into, a quirky woman who captures his heart with her adorable dorkiness and cute smile.
But can the Prince Charming of the RomCom world really find the girl of his dreams in a shy, socially awkward bookshop owner who would rather live life vicariously through the characters between the pages she reads? Or is this budding romance destined to be a box office fail?

This is a Sweet Romance - These are romantic tales without the bedroom scenes and the swearing, but that doesn’t mean they’re boring!

I am a business owner, artist, cook, mother and wife. I live on the beautiful Sunshine Coast in Queensland, Australia with my wonderful husband, two beautiful sons, a dog and a cat (both of which are female because, hey, we needed to balance all that testosterone!)

I am a ferocious reader with eclectic tastes and have always wanted to write, but never had the opportunity due to one reason or another (excuses, really) until finally taking the bullet between my teeth in 2014 and just making myself do it.

I love to write stories with heart and a message and believe in strong female characters who do not necessarily have to be aggressive to show their strength.

First book of 2020, though I started it at the end of 2019!

This was a cute story though it was pretty much predictable (think Notting Hill with the gender roles reversed). It didn't take away from the story, though. I still really enjoyed following Georgie's story and her learning to accept herself and Conner's affections. I liked her internal conflict with her (terrible!) parents and the way she had to go about moving on from that. I did think that part was glossed over a little as the book concluded, but I think the basic point was made.

A sweet short novel with and HEA - great way to start the new year!

This was truly a feel good kind of book. A first reading a book from Emma Lea. It was a quick read and a book I really enjoyed about a nerdy kinda girl who fell in love with prince charming. I look forward to reading more books from this author.

Fairy Tale Perfect

This short novel was so utterly charming. The author has pulled you into a make believe world in which you can really believe that these things happen.
