Took a bunch of points off for the writing. The book read as if written for middle-schoolers.

It seems to follow some early version of the script, and as such, contains a whole bunch of "deleted scenes" and information I am not sure if I should take as canon. They also had the scrapped Merlin/Ginger Ale storyline, which I can definitively say I didn't care for and am glad the movie dispensed with (but didn't knock points for because it's not really the author's fault).

All the same, it was similar enough to the movie to be familiar, and different enough to hold my interest and make me want to see what was next.

This was an interesting thing to read. Seeing what the original The Golden Circle script had to offer and seeing the differences between the movie characters and what they actually looked like in the original script. Though I disagreed with some takes on the story or the way some characters were pictured, I also was pleased to find more about character i already liked from the movie and just to generally have extra-scenes that eventually helped confirming bonds between characters or giving actually more informations to the 'Kingsman lore'. I warmly recommend this to every Kingsman fan, as it is a goldmine of informations to those who crave some more of our favorite spies.

This is essentially the director’s cut of the movie and it’s definitely entertaining to read. I love seeing the differences between the original cut and the finished product of one of my favorite movies. Overall it rounds out the story of Kingsman: The Golden Circle.

-1 star for the fight scenes being poorly written compared to how amazing they are produced on screen. The fights feel more written as a screenplay while the rest is genuinely a novelization.

I loved the first film and didn't get around to seeing the second as yet, so this was a welcome charity shop find. Like all movie serialisation books, they stick very much to fictionalizing the original script and don't vary much away from the original imagined screenplay, but this still reads incredibly well and am sure it is an excellent companion to what I am sure is a great sequel. It's action packed, great plot and punchy dialogue. Fab read.

So today we are gonna talk about the movie, oops, sorry a novelized book called Kingsman - The Golden Circle Novelized by Tim Waggoner.

Being a Kingman movie fan, I just couldn't stop grabbing this book. Soooo, I decided to give a shot reading it.

If you have watched the movie and then reading this, just stay prepared to get to know about the details of each and every scene and some are bonus ones too, especially the 'Bull scene'. I wont give any spoilers as usual but one thing is for sure, this Spy movie has its own fan base, style and scale. Same goes with it's book. Reading each chapter, the imaginery kingsman bgm was running in my head in low volume. Cause that the impact kingsman has for all the Gentlemanship seekers.

The characters are written in such a way, that everyone has their own role to either save the world or rule the world. The dark and bright shades in its own unique way. Saying with a heavy heart, if you dont like this action packed spy genre, it's ok if you won't read it. But if you do then this gentleman's world will not forgive you for not reading this book.

Every quote is decent as kingsman itself, but my favourite and probably everyone's favourite is "Manners, Maketh, Man. Do you know what that means? Then let me teach you a lesson!"

You know what. I unironically love this book and movie series.

For real though, the writing is something akin to middle school level but it was engaging and easy to follow! I don't understand why people are so hard on books that are easier to understand and read in general. I really liked the simplicity and 'straight to the point' writing.

This also feels like an early version of the script if I had to guess (which I can't find to save my life. What's up with that? LMK if you guys have found it at all.), but it was similar enough to the movie that you can understand what is going on. My favorite part of the novelization is being able to get into the character's heads during really character heavy moments, of which this movie has a lot more of than the first one. I understood the characters so much more than in the film, which helped balance out the action being a little lackluster in written form, which was to be expected. It is ay harder to write interesting action from a literal action movie into book form.

I only give it 4/5 stars because the Merlin & Ginger romance plot was REALLY boring and unneeded. I'm glad it got cut from the movie and I feel the book suffered its pacing due to this subplot.

Overall, I fricking adored this book and finished it in less than two days. :)

Okay, so, I'll begin this by saying that my main reason for wanting to read this is because I'm kind of a massive Hartwin shipper, and I was hoping to get some more fun tidbits about Harry and Eggsy. Also, I've fallen into a Kingsman rabbit hole lately, so of course I had to get my hands on this book. It did not disappoint! It was such a fun read, and I loved seeing all the deleted scenes and things that were cut or changed in the movie. Getting to delve deeper into the characters' psychology was also really interesting!

My absolute favourite part (in a sad way) has to be Harry's nightmare. That was one of my biggest issues with The Golden Circle - I like it as a movie, though it isn't perfect. To me, it skipped over Harry's trauma, and I would have loved for that to be explored more. Just getting this little bit, and seeing how it affects him, was so good and it helped fill my need for that. Overall, highly recommended for any Kingsman fan. So much fun lore and some excellent scenes!

the movie was not the best sequel and this is not the best novelization. it was interesting seeing what course The Golden Circle was supposed to take and i'm ultimately glad with the decisions they made for the film, although it makes for an interesting book! it gave a lot more insight into the characters and i'd only wish it expounded more on the time period between . overall, fun read for a kingsman fan like me and a good timekiller.

✨4.5/5✨
Truth be told, I have a bias because I am absolutely just in love with the Kingsman franchise. This novelization, I felt, was great in its vocabulary, its elaboration on things, and its passion. For me, it gave justice to the second movie, making me fall in love more with the cast of characters than before. Can't wait to watch the movie again with the information I gathered in this book in mind!

this is a great book and movie. i preferred the movie tho. it is about this guy who is trying to find medicine for a sickness that was going around. he is apart of a secret service called the kingman. the main antaganist has drugged a popular food that everyone loves and they start to dye. so he is trying to find this cure to save humanity. great movie!!

The dialogue didn't match, plot points were completely different, and the writing was weird. Plus, things had changed from the ORIGINAL movie, like how old Eggsy was when his dad died (this book said he was a baby).

It was a weird ride, guys,

Beat for beat retelling of the film, the little that it adds can be summed up in a couple sentances. I enjoyed purely because I love both the film and reading.

Would recommend if you love the film enough to wanna re experience it in a different media.

I think this was a really good follow up of the film. It explains the scenarios from the film in more depth that you wouldn't get unless you read this.

Although I was compelled to finish this book. To see how it ended. I didn't like it. I hated the swearing and long fights, the copying of other peoples ideas. And the disregard for life.

Since this was a novelization, I thought it'd be boring for me but it wasn't! This read more like a novel that a movie was based on rather than the opposite because there were so many extra scenes. I'm thinking that maybe the author got a hold of the script before the movie was shot and some scenes in the script were changed and cut during the shooting but stayed in the novelization. And the movie couldn't portray the antagonist well (I keep rolling my eyes throughout the movie because come on. Show me a villain, not a cardboard cut-out version of one!) But the author painted the picture really nice just by using a few extra scenes.

And I couldn't help but think that the first movie would be gorgeous if the author could make it into a novelization. Roxy would be fucking brilliant. And the scenes with JB would be so cute.

There's so much to say about this book. A few of these flaws are the problem of the movie, but at the same time, this book did the story absolutely no justice. Out-of-character moments were rampant, along with the author spoon-feeding to the audience that the President wasn't the nicest guy.

I can't really say much about the action, as I think written action isn't very engaging, and I honestly skipped these parts. Though, from what I skimmed, they were very similar to the film for the most part.

Though, not everything is completely abysmal. There are a few scenes that are either funny because they're genuinely funny or because at that point my standards had dropped to the center of the earth.

Almost every scene with Poppy is good, especially one later in the book during the fight in Poppyland. Her character is just good, and I think she was a solid villain.

There's also many scenes with Merlin that are good, but that's pure bias on my part. Since this book is considered canon to my knowledge, I was really happy to learn his real name (Hamish, in case you don't want to suffer through over half of this book just to learn that).

Overall, this book felt like a bad fanfiction. There's instances where the wrong characters are referred to, and facts from the first film are completely changed to suit the narrative. If I could go on for ages about everything I disliked we'd be here all day, but to sum up, Merlin and Poppy were great, a few good scenes were sprinkled here and there, but it's nothing to write home about.

TL;DR: "America," he shouted. "Fuck yeah!" - Agent Jack Daniels/Whiskey
