Fate made us brothers, loyalty made us family.

We were only kids when my brothers and I were forced to the streets and into the shadows, harboring a dark secret we had every intention of taking to our graves.

That’s when a pact was made, a brotherhood formed.

We fought, we bled, but in the end we survived. All because one man took in three homeless boys and loved what no one else wanted.

Now, years later, the past we thought was dead and buried emerges with a vengeance, bringing a blue eyed angel with it. A woman with no memory, but whose body bares the same unforgivable wounds that are scarred on my very soul.

It forges an undeniable bond between us. A connection that will irrevocably shift the relationship between my brothers and me once again, leading us right into a sadistic killer’s web of revenge.

The time has come to face the very thing we fought to escape. Only this time we aren’t helpless kids. This time we will lay the demons to rest once and for all.

K.C. Lynn is a small town girl living in Western Canada. She grew up in a family of four children—two sisters and a brother. Her mother was the lady who baked homemade goods for everyone on the street and her father was a respected man who worked in the RCMP. He’s since retired and now works for the criminal justice system. This being one of the things that inspires K.C. to write romantic suspense about the trials and triumphs of our heroes.

K.C. married her high school sweetheart and they started a big family of their own—two adorable girls and a set of handsome twin boys. They still reside in the same small town but K.C.’s heart has always longed for the south, where everyone says ‘y’all’ and eats biscuits and gravy for breakfast.

It was her love for romance books that gave K.C. the courage to sit down and write her own novel. It was then a beautiful world opened up and she found what she was meant to do…write.

When K.C.’s not spending time with her beautiful family she can be found in her writing cave, living in the fabulous minds of her characters and their stories.

This is Braxten & Alice's story. Spoken in 'Dual Perspectives.'

'𝙰𝚗 𝚊𝚗𝚐𝚎𝚕 𝙸 𝚠𝚊𝚗𝚝 𝚝𝚘 𝚌𝚘𝚛𝚛𝚞𝚙𝚝
𝚊𝚜 𝚋𝚊𝚍𝚕𝚢 𝚊𝚜 𝙸 𝚠𝚊𝚗𝚝 𝚝𝚘 𝚙𝚛𝚘𝚝𝚎𝚌𝚝'

When the sign up came along for this one I was giddy, but when it landed on my kindle app life was made. This was a long time coming BUT omg the wait was WORTH IT!! I loved jumping back in this world.

'ᴛᴇʀʀɪʙʟᴇ ᴄɪʀᴄᴜᴍꜱᴛᴀɴᴄᴇꜱ ʙʀᴏᴜɢʜᴛ ᴜꜱ ᴛᴏɢᴇᴛʜᴇʀ,
ʙᴜᴛ ᴅᴇꜱᴛɪɴʏ ɢᴀᴠᴇ ᴜꜱ ꜱᴏ ᴍᴜᴄʜ ᴍᴏʀᴇ.
ꜰᴀᴛᴇ ᴍᴀᴅᴇ ᴜꜱ ʙʀᴏᴛʜᴇʀꜱ, ʟᴏʏᴀʟᴛʏ ᴍᴀᴅᴇ ᴜꜱ ꜰᴀᴍɪʟʏ.'

A band of broken brothers who made a pact when younger that they would always stay together, no one is left behind. Each boy is beyond damaged, abandoned by parents then left in a boys home that destroyed every little piece of them until the day they escaped and got taken in by a farmer who found three small boys scared and hiding out in his farm barn.

A day he blessed from then onwards, they may not be blood but they are his boys in every sense of the word.

Whilst doing a daily check over the farm Braxten is confronted with a sight he never expected to see, a girl left for dead abandoned on the side of the road, tattered clothes, beaten within an inch of her life.

Waking up in the hospital the only thing that comes to her is her name, Alice. She has no recollection of who left her, or where she came from.

But what if somehow she's connected to them in some way? It's up to these men to figure out where she came from, who hurt her, and why when she woke up she told Braxten to run?

But one thing is certain, Braxten Creed is not letting her out of his sight, from the moment he encountered her something inside of him woke up, his need to protect, his need for revenge to the ones who hurt her, we saw such a different side to him, one I loved seeing. These band of brothers are everything!! And when they find love nothing will break that bond..

This was a nice reading!

I loved Braxten since “Justice” he was funny and easy going despite his past! Alice was a pretty good heroine! I enjoyed their bonding and chemistry!

The plot of the book was good! Some things that happened in the past came back to hunt them again!

I loved the plot twist toward the end!
I love the loyalty and bonding the three brothers share and with their father as well! They have created a great family! I really enjoy the relationship the three brothers have with Hannah! She is so cute!

The only thing that was kind of weird was the dirty talk sometimes! They used some weird expressions!

Overall, it was a great reading! I can’t wait for Knox’s book! I need answers why he is this way!

This is the second book in a series about these foster brothers who were adopted by a farmer / sniper and live in a small town. (If being a farmer / sniper sounds OTT, yes, it is!) It could be read as a standalone. But it would make more sense if you’ve read Justice first.

Braxten (who is around 26 – I don’t think it’s said, but his brother Justice was 27 in his book) is working the fields one day at his dad’s farm when he finds a woman who has been dumped in a ditch, near dead. Alice has no memory of what happened to her, or her life before. It’s kind of "instalove" from there. Braxten previously was a "one night stand only" guy, but he feels drawn to he. So, he has Alice stay with him, and he takes care of her.

There’s some plot action (in the form of the villain who did that to Alice returning). Otherwise, this story is just Alice and Braxten falling for each other with very little angst. Alice clearly has trauma from her past, she's got all these scars, but this story explores her trauma in a pretty shallow way. To me, it didn't feel that heavy. It’s Bad Boy / Good Girl trope. He and his brothers have a Reputation around their small town (partly because they used to sleep with women together). Meanwhile, Alice is a virgin (and she’s literally innocent since she has no memory). The steam wasn't quite as good as in the first book (and I liked book 1 a bit better overall), but it's fine.

This wasn’t bad. It just wasn’t anything special. And it was lacking some character depth. It felt like they got to exchanging “I love yous” too fast. But overall, this series is a fine small town contemporary for when you’re in the mood for that kind of thing, even if it’s nothing stand-out. I’ll read the third brother’s book when it comes out.

I’ve been waiting years for Braxten and Alice’s story, and it was worth the wait! I really loved it, even more than Justice! I was sucked in from beginning to end, not wanting this book to end. I was crying in some parts, laughing in others, swooning hard, and feeling 🥵 with those s*x scenes. I also loved the mystery and suspense. I tend to figure out plot twists early on, but not this one. It was a shocking twist, and the author did a good job, keeping me guessing until the end. The character and world building were also great, making the scenes in the book come to life. Hence my need for all these side characters to have their own books. Thatcher and Gwen, Hannah J, and of course, Knox, whom I loved and I'm dying for his story! Once again KC Lynn has outdone herself and I cannot wait to see what she has in store for us next!

Was Well Worth The Wait!

Book title: Braxten
Author: KC Lynn
Series: Creed Brothers #2
Star Rating:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Steam Rating:🔥🔥🔥

It may have been a wait for this book but I can tell you with absolute certainty that it is well worth the wait!

This was everything I could’ve hoped for and more! Braxten and Alice were everything!

When Braxten finds Alice dumped on their property, nearly beaten to death, he feels this intense connection to her but she gives him an ominous warning about his past that threatens not just the two of them but all of his family.

We then find out Alice has amnesia from her injuries and upon waking she also feels this strange but comforting connection with him, and with everything she’s been through he’s the only she feels safe around. So Braxten vows to stay with her to protect her and to find out who’s after them. I absolutely loved how possessive and protective he was of her! But he was also so sweet and loving and caring and a little bossy but 😍🥺

So just when you hope that the brothers had left that horrible group home behind them, it unfortunately looks like the past has caught up to them. I honestly didn’t think anything worse could come out of their past 😫 but how Alice and Braxten ended up being connected by the group home was shocking. My heart goes out to them but I am so happy that they found each other and fell in love despite their horrific experiences.

I honestly could not put this down once I started! And I could go on and on about how good this was and everything I loved but I don’t want to spoil it but if you’ve read Justice then expect this one to be on the same level if not better!

KC Lynn you absolutely knocked this book out of the park! It was action packed, had me on the edge of my seat one moment then laughing the next, the spice was amazing, honestly loved every single moment of this book! I love these Creed Brothers so much and I cannot wait to see what Knox’s book brings us!

Sigh.

Look, I love KC Lynn. I really do. I always appreciate the suspense element in her books and Jase & Kolan are in top 10 for me. But….

Justice, Braxten, Knox, Ryanne & Hannah are literally just Jaxson, Sawyer, Cade, Julia & Ruthie in a different font. Even Craig is just a less charismatic Cooper.

I get that KC has found a formula that works for her, but at this point, after this many books, how many more times do we have to read the same story?

The only thing that truly shocked me with this book is that Jaxson didn’t turn up and that the core group didn’t move to Jaxson’s town 🤷🏼‍♀️

Hopefully KC will give us something completely different in the future, but I’m doubtful.

Will I keep reading her books? Most likely 😂

ARC provided in exchange of a honest review

Braxten is the second book in the Creed brothers series, and the book that i was most excited about. I loved Braxten in Justice's book and i was really excited to read his story. Especially since his book had a trope that i personally love , which is amnesiac heroine (blame it on those years watching south americans telenovelas) .

In Justice's book, we found out that the boys were abused as children and after they ran away, they ended up at Tatcher's house. He took them in and raised them as if they were his children.

Blood means nothing, but love, love means everything. You were always meant to be mine

In this book we get to see more of their horrenduos upbringing, as they will be forced to take a trip down memory lane to save the woman that is now part of their family.

When Alice is found by Braxten, she is almost dead. She can't remember anything from her past. The only memory are the scars inflicted on her body, testament to the horrors she went through. The same scars the Creed brothers have. After her release from the hospital, the Creeds adopt Alice as one of their own and try to save her. Especially once they realize their traumatic past is tied up with hers.

She immediately feels a connection to Braxten, and feels safe only when he is around. Their love is obvious from the start. This Creed brother took one look at Alice and swore he will always protect her. They are so sweet together, especially by how protecyive he is of her. Despite her memory loss, Alice knows that being with this family is where she was meant to be. Being welcomed by Thatcher, Gwen and especially Hannah makes her feel like everything was for a purpose in her life, even the bad things. Her scenes with Hannah and Leela are so beautiful and sweet. And Knox... well, all i can say without spoiling it is that he is doing fine, and i think he is on the right path to healing. The bond the brothers share was once again a central plot, especially braxten and knox. Thatcher and Gwen are happier than ever, Justice and Ryanne are enjoying their life together with Hannah.

You’re not lost, Wonderland. You’re right where you belong. Here, with me.

Like all the romantic suspense, here we deal with a villain too. There is someone out there who wants to take revenge on the brothers. The same someone who hurt Alice and left her for them to find. The key to all is in Alice's memories, and until she doesn't remember, they don't know against whom to fight. As she starts to remember fragments from her life, they discover a shocking truth about the blond haired angel and how her life is connected to theirs

In the end, they will once again have to face their past in order to save Alice and themselves. Everyone who hurts their family will have to pay the price of doing so.

If you are a KC Lynn fan, you know how much she struggled with this book. I just want to say that her work was not in vain. Braxten is an amazing read. Not only for the portrayal of B&A's love story, but for how this family came together and support and love each other. You can feel their love, you can feel how they are there for each other. I think the right word to express the feeling this book gave me is warmth. I knew going in that will be great and it didn't let me down. I wish i can say more, but it will end up spoiling the book.

P.s. i apologize for the many grammar errors i'm sure i made. English is not my language.

I just can’t get enough of these heartfelt stories KC knows how to write in a way that always keeps us wanting more.
These series have become my comfort reads in between Arcs and all the romance & romantacy I’ve been bindge reading lately.

The promise of a satisfying read always a garantie - no matter how small the town, how broken the men’s past is and how vulnerable the lead FMc is you get to step into their world and feel like you’ve had a great time.

Braxton was the goofy positive one, deadly abs protective at all times, defending his own without fault. The found family is brought to a whole new level with a strong pops who took them in and gave them the chance to live and thrive, focusing on their strengths and making them the best version of who they were always meant to be.

This series cover racial equality and unwavering bond that just goes to show that the right people know not of color or class. They know love and loyalty, fierce strength and sense of justice but most of all they show that when someone feels right there’s no need to beat around the bush and go for it. The Creed men adore their women and they have a strong sense of family. A bond that goes beyond blood.

Alice is just as strong with past trauma she needs to uncover and decide what is good for her, no matter what. She has a man who lifts her up and gives her that swoon worthy protection & emotion we girlies like so much.

KC you’ve been my favorite new writer as I emerge from these honorable men’s journeys with a newfound sense of humility and hope.
Keep them coming coz I’m gonna read them - audiobook them because lets face it if you write it, Teddy H & Callie D narrate it I’m right there never wanting to step out of your bubble!

Possessive protective nuclear hot alpha hero alert! Braxten by K.C. Lynn was full of heart stopping action and suspense, raw feels and sizzling hot chemistry. Braxten and Alice both have broken pieces and scarred pasts but their souls fit together perfectly.

When Braxten Creed found an unconscious almost dying Alice at the edge of their property, he instantly wanted to protect her from everything. She cannot remember anything about her past. The Creed brothers have lived dangerously after escaping their nightmare of the group home at very young age. But their past may be coming back to haunt them..and he won't stop till he takes down the enemy. But what if Alice has a link to the enemy?

What I love most about this story is definitely the unique bond among the brothers and their father and now extended family. They have been through some dark past and they have each other's back in every situation. And that bond is really intense. The dynamics is changing as Justice is now married with a sweet daughter and Braxten is in love with Alice. But their connection is strong. Alice is in a very vulnerable stage. Unknown place. Unfamiliar people who are warm and welcoming. And scars on her body. Braxten became an instant source of strength and safety to her. As I said, if you love alpha heroes who will burn everything to ground for their women..this one is for you. The plot is fast paced with secrets and twists and dangerous people. The last few chapters were so nerve wrecking. Braxten and Alice share a beautiful connection that was born from ugliness and pain. And right now.. I cannot wait for Knox's story because I have a feeling in my gut that it is going to a rollercoaster ride.

"The long awaited second book in the Creed brother’s novel has finally arrived, and totally worth the wait! I did go back and re-read Justice again to refresh my memory, and so glad I did.

Braxten is the ultimate alpha hero, with quite the spicy side. When he finds Alice fighting for her life, he know he will do anything to protect her. We learn much more on the Creed brother’s pasts in this story, you will see how much the pasts have made them the men they are today.

I absolutely love KC Lynn’s writing style, she isn’t afraid to take you places you never knew existed. You will be sucked in from the beginning, make sure to have the tissues handy, you’re going to need them. "

I died a few little deaths reading this amazing book. When you hear the term, “the suspense was killing me”… it applies! Straight out of the gate, I was gripping my Kindle.

I had a soft spot for Braxten from book one. He was this wounded, yet strong man with a boyish side and big heart. The way he took care of Alice really touched me.

This story had some twists and I mean real twisty twists! I thought I had it figured out and BAM, I was blindsided at the climax. This could definitely be placed in the suspense and/or mystery trope.

Do you think if I harassed K.C. Lynn with LOVE she would write us a book for Knox?

So freakin’ good! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I loved Justice. It was one of my fave KCL books and so I waited patiently for Braxton.

But I just didn’t feel this book the way I did with Justice. I just didn’t feel the connection between Alice and Braxton. I didn’t feel the story was strong. It felt rushed.

For someone who has been traumatized for so many years, Alice didn’t seem to be affected at all. Her main worry was Brax leaving her over her father. Her back story just didn’t seem to have any emotion to it, like it was something that happened and that’s all 🤷🏻‍♀️.

This could have been great but it fell short for me. First KCL book that I’ve felt that way.

Braxton . . . man you slay me. I couldn't put this one down. Devoured it one sitting. I loved his loyalty, his fierce protectiveness, his massive heart, his patience, how deeply he loves . . . I just love all the things. Alice . . . you broke me. My heart hurt so bad for you. But watching you heal and fall for Braxton and his family put my heart back together. But it wasn't just their love story there was also tons of suspense action that kept me on the edge of my seat. just perfect. I need to re-read Justice and I need to read her backlog - stat.

It is no secret that KC Lynn is one of my favorite authors. She writes a consuming romance that has the perfect amount of feels, emotion, heartfelt connection, and more fire than you can shake a stick at. Suffice to say, I have loved every one of her books, and I have been eagerly anticipating when this author would release a new one. This book was everything that I needed it to be and more. It was the perfect continuation of this series, and it was well worth the wait.

Braxten was everything I didn’t even know I needed in my life. This book was suspenseful, it was consuming, it had a heavy dose of vulnerability and heart, that I loved fiercely, and it had a story and a couple that I loved from the very start. I truly cannot put this book down. I devoured it in a matter of hours because I just love being in this world with all these characters. The Creed brothers definitely have been through a lot and they will put you through the ringer in this New addition to their story, but it will show you again, and again that they are family and that they will do anything for one another.

I loved everything about what Braxten and Alice shared together. They had an instant connection, they stole my heart, and they just showed me that they were meant to be. This story has such a feel of fate and soulmates to it, and I loved getting to be in the thick of that. It was honestly so sweet and beautiful and it really just gave me everything with them. It also melted my heart, something fierce from beginning to end, and showed me that those two were made to be together. They wanted to love one another, they wanted to protect one another, they wanted to fight like hell for one another, and he just wanted to be together… And it was everything.

This story will definitely keep you on your toes from beginning to end. It will break your heart a timer to with what these characters give you, but it will also show you that this family, and this couple will do whatever it takes to get that ending that they also deserve. I love how this author perfectly weaves together that suspense element, that romance, that sense of family and friendship and connection, along with , the mystery of it all. It weaves together to make one hell of a story that you won’t be able to put down.

KC Lynn does such an incredible job of just letting you be with her characters. It makes each, and every one of her stories, memorable and enjoyable from start to finish, and this one was no different. I really can’t say enough how much I loved it. It was truly the perfect follow up to this series, and it has me even more eager for the way. This author will bring it to a close with Knox’s story. I have no idea how old that that book is going to break my heart, but I also know it will put us all back together again, because that is how talented this author is with how she creates her characters and stories.

If you have loved a book by this author, then you will love this book. If you are looking for a place to start in this author’s world, then this is a great place to do just that. This book is phenomenally written, it’s consuming and captivating, and it’s a book that you will love. I truly can’t say that enough. This story with Alice and Braxten was romantic and heartfelt and mesmerizing, and mysterious and just everything. It was exactly what I needed, and I loved every word of it!

I loved every single word of this book, and I cannot recommend this series or this author enough to you. She’s a fantastic writer and storyteller, and she has such a way with words that will have you so eager for more. Trust me when I say that you will love every single word, she gives you with her characters and how she allows you to live and feel it all right along with them.

It’s been a hot minute since we had a new release from this author, but there’s a reason I will always pick up any new book of hers, no matter how long the wait between them. Bear with me for a minute, and I’ll explain why.

As a long-time voracious reader, I scooped my first Kindle Fire up as soon as it launched and immediately started devouring ebooks. A few months later, I had foot surgery and found myself with a lot more reading time than ever before. That coincided with when indie publishing was becoming more well-known, so I invested in many new-to-me authors because their books were a lot less expensive than most traditionally published books. Some were huge hits, and some were huge misses. Shortly after, I stumbled upon KC Lynn’s first Men of Honor book. To say it was a big hit for me would be an understatement. Something about her writing resonated with me, and I’ve devoured each book of hers since. In 2018, I met her at a book signing, and she was just as genuine in person as she was on social media.

And that brings us to her newest release: Braxten. It’s the second book in her Creed Brothers series, and while you can read it as a standalone, everything from the characters and the brothers’ backstory will make more sense and be more impactful if you read them in order.

Braxten and Alice’s story was more suspenseful than the first book in the series but no less heartwrenching. Good thing the author stitches our hearts back together once again at the end. As usual, she develops her characters so well that they evoke real emotions from the reader, whether love or hate or somewhere in between. And as each book in the series progresses, the secondary characters become less, well, secondary because she’s made you so invested in them.

The Creed brothers are challenging characters to read. Their history is heartwrenching, but their stories illustrate well how our pasts don’t have to define us, how family can be born out of love and loyalty, and how that kind of bond can be so much stronger than blood. Full of strong emotions, suspense that keeps you on the edge of your seat, and just the right amount of steam, Braxten and Alice’s story pulled me in immediately, and I didn’t put it down until they reached their HEA. It was more than worth the wait.

Oh me oh my...
This family...
These brothers..
Braxten Creed..

I simply cannot put into words how much this book was everything I hoped it would be and more.
We finally get a glimpse into what makes these brothers who they are, and what they come from is nothing short of horrible.

"For as long as I'm still breathing, you'll always be safe."

Braxten Creed, the youngest brother to Knox & Justice, unknowingly finds himself down a rabbit hole that he isn't sure he wants to come out of let alone by himself. But at what cost will it take for him to not only climb out but to bring his past right to his fathers front door and.. to his brothers.

Maybe going to wonderland isn't so bad but when the monsters of the past try to take what you have found, you fight like hell to keep it safe.

With no memory how do you grasp what and where or even who you are in the world you wake up to, Alice faces that challenge but then the sense of comfort that comes from the man with dark hair and even darker eyes helps that little bit to ease the fear she feels above all else.

"He's my favorite place. Whether it's in the safety of his arms or his body wrapped around mine. He will always be my favorite place."

I cannot gush about this one enough, KC's writing has a way about it that it grabs you and pulls you in and makes you want to stay there and never leave. It was amazing to go back to this family and these characters, I forgot how much I missed them.
Definitely would recommend this book however I would say to understand everything fully Justice needs to be read first before Braxten then the bigger picture will make sense.

In the words of my favorite father "The past doesn't matter, child. Your destiny isn't behind you. It's in front of you."

She's baaaaack! Welcome back KC Lynn!

Such an amazing story! Loved every second!

Back with the wonderful Creed family! Bound by love not blood.

I loved being back with the guys and just like with Justice, i've taken Braxten into my heart. Despite his past he's strong and dependable and he was a perfect fit for Alice.

Alice is probably the sweetest most innocent of KC's female characters which i admit i maybe struggled with a little bit. I wanted her to fight back herself. I was urging her to get angry maybe? But, she just wasn't that type of person. On reflection i can see she was strong in other more subtle ways. Like the years she was trapped but still survived with her sweet nature in tact. The strength she had to carry on and live. Her hope to have a future despite the odds stacked against her. So by the end i think i appreciated her even if she's not my fave type of character.

To be honest i think Braxten would of fought with a feisty woman. He was unreasonably stubborn which made me chuckle. He was also soooo protective he kind of needed someone to look after. He wanted that role which is why i think when he found Alice it slotted into place for him.

I adored the storyline. Suspense/thriller type of story which keeps you engaged and guessing all the way through.

It was amazing to be back seeing Justice and Ryanne building their lives together. I also can't leave this review without a special mention for Hannah J. She's a real treasure! Also have to mention Thatcher and Gwen. It makes my heart full to finally see them lovin life!

Highly recommend this book and suggest reading book 1 first because thats just as good and gives the groundwork for this one.

Brilliant to be reading a KC Lynn book again! I'm dying for Knox, but honestly whatever comes next i'm here for it! ❤

4.25 - 4.5 Stars! 💗

Ever since i read Justice i've been so excited for more from this world! As soon as the release date was announced i was so happy and started counting down the days until i could read it. I had to dive back into the Creed Brothers world right away. I really enjoyed this story so very much!

I've been so curious about Braxten and was so happy he was getting his own book!

Braxten and Alice's journey hooked me and had my heart racing right from the very start! One day Braxten sees something on his family's land. Going to inspect things further he discovers a badly wounded woman, Alice. She was left for a reason, Can Braxten and Alice figure things out together?

Braxten and Alice quickly captured my heart and had it feeling every bit. I was on the edge of seat, waiting to see what all would happen next. The things Braxten and Alice had been through in their lives truly got to me. I felt for them on a big level. Their chemistry and connection between these two was so fantastic! I didn't know how they'd tackle Alice's situation, their feelings, and everything thrown their way. This story had me feeling so many things under the sun from beginning to end!

It was so awesome getting to reunite with the Creed brothers!

With Braxten, Ms.Lynn has created such a great and addictive read that i didn't want to turn away from! She brings darkness, realness, heart, and steam in unique ways that keep me glued to my kindle every single time! I am so excited for more of this author's words and of course, Knox! If you haven't yet dived into the Creed Brothers world, you so should!

*I volunteered to read and review a copy of this book from BookSmacked / the author*

Trust me when I say that the twists and fears and mysteries all make this story well worth the read. Beyond the mystery of who Alice is, and especially who she is to the Creed brothers, we have a fractured bond between brothers. Braxten is falling for a woman who doesn’t have a past, while worrying whether or not there is a future for them. And Alice is worrying about breaking relationships between the brothers while falling in love with a man who may or may not truly want her when the truth comes tumbling out.

Adding to this worry, there’s danger coming for everyone. But who’s the pawn, who’s the player, and who’s going to lose it all? I can’t say that I’m sad to see how one person ended up here, but the surprises that came with revealed secrets had my heart pounding. This author wove such an engaging tale that I literally devoured it in one sitting. That’s right. I didn’t put this book down, except to grab more water. Between Alice finding her way, Braxten finding what his heart wants, and Knox maybe stepping a little closer to either peace or breaking hearts entirely, I just had to know what happens next. And I wasn’t disappointed at all. Well, until I hit the last page. And only then because I wanted more time with this family. So get comfortable, stay hydrated, and prepare to feel Alice’s pain as your own. And Braxten’s desperation as your own, as well. Because you’re about to get sucked into the world of the Creed family and you won’t even want to try to find a way out!
