Another trip to Mayberry this time in book format with lovely colored and black and white photos to honor each episode. The first half is what I would call the best part of The Andy Griffith show when Barney is still deputy and before they dropped the black and white look. I never watched anymore after that; I felt the show lost it's charm in the last three seasons. There are no grizzly things written about your favorite characters and I did appreciate that greatly. At the closing of the last page the show is still as wholesome and inviting as it ever was!! My only complaint with this book is the font size is extremely small and very difficult to read even for someone like me who wears glasses all the time.

Mayberry Memories: The Andy Griffith Show Photo Album by Ken Beck (Thomas Nelson 2000) (791.4572). Published in honor of the 40th anniversary of the Andy Griffith Show, this coffee-table sized volume contains over 300 photos taken from the Andy Griffith Show. My rating: 7/10, finished 2006.

Fun to look at and read the comments. Doesn't go to much into behind the scenes of the show as I would have liked.

Memories galore.

I was 4 years old in 1960 so I literally grew up with Opie. I watch the reruns when they are on.

Loved this book! It takes you season by season and provides lots of pictures, both behind the scenes and publicity shots, and covers spin-offs and reunions.
