Thieves attacked the Maycott caravan, abducting Seanna’s older sister Bethany. Instead of waiting for help from her father or the Earl of the nearby estate, Seanna sets out to save her sister.
Compelled by dreams, James Bryant returns to England after three long years, ready to confront his father and ghosts of his past. But before he has a chance to make amends, he is besieged by bandits and rescued by a spitfire of a girl who wields a sword unlike anyone he has ever seen.
Unlikely companions, Seanna and James find themselves stumbling down a path of destinies intertwined . . .
Alyssa Dean Copeland credits Jude Deveraux for hooking her on historical romance. Years later, she opened her laptop and tried her hand at writing in the world she fell in love with.
Alyssa makes her home in Colorado, where she works in higher education by day and novelist by night—when she’s not distracted by social media or Netflix.
She loves to write stories with imperfect, compelling heroes and heroines. When she’s not writing, she enjoys theater, hole-in-the-wall museums, and anything Star Wars. Currently, she is working on the next piece of the Pearl Heirloom Collection.
This is another great book won from the Goodreads contest.
Alyssa Dean Copeland must have spent a lot of time researching the 1500's to write this book. The details she has written in the story are wonderful. I got a great feel for this time period as I quickly read each page.
Thieves attacked a caravan and abducted Bethany. Her younger sister, Seanna, sets off to save her without waiting for any help. Along the way, she saves James Bryant from a band of thieves. They join together and continue the quest. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in this era.
I loved it. The characters well developed. The story has a good pace. It doesn't jump from spot to spot. I want to read other books to complete the stories picture. Want to know more about other characters. Great story and premise.
