“No matter what,” she said, “tomorrow ends with blood.”

Adrien’s master plan has been revealed and the battle lines are drawn. With the ashes of the Boulevard still hanging in the air, Hannah and team must race to prepare their ragtag army before the full might of Arcadia descends upon them.

While Karl works to whip his troops into shape, Parker invades the belly of the beast, and Hannah and Ezekiel head on diverging paths to seek help.

They’ve made a stand, but can they win the war?

Revolution brings the first arc of The Rise of Magic series to an explosive end, finally setting right decades old wrongs and answering the question of good versus evil.

It’s an action packed story, filled with heart, humor, and the never ending pursuit of justice.

****4.25 Kick butt Stars****

This could be the end of the series but I was happy to find out that our characters are starting a new adventure!

This was a nice conclusion but it seemed to lack a bit of "umph" at the end. It wasn't very critical to my rating but I did feel a bit let down after all of the climatic events leading up to it.

Again our characters are witty, funny, and ready to kick some serious ass!

Can't wait to start the next book in the series!

Disappointing.

The battle at the tower was boring, mainly focused on unexciting little fights. I just wanted it to be over.

Silly me, I thought the final fight against Adrien would be awesome and guess what? Yeah, it wasn't. Almost no action, predictable and totally underwhelming. How come three incredibly powerful characters (supposedly, as it was repeatedly said) can unleash their energy without tearing a couple of buildings apart? Oh, man...

At least Sal did something this time. I don't know how an untrained lazy dragon would manage to fly, carry his master and avoid being killed at the same time but I'm not entirely complaining. In fact, it is because of Sal that I'm rating this book two stars instead of one.

There are several reiterations that made the reading tiresome and unfunny, I lost count of how many times the character's eye color (and how they change according to their kind of magic) was indicated. Also, the 'douche-nugget-thing' Hanna loves to say stopped working a few books ago.

The story continues, I'm not sure if I'll be reading the following books, though.

This review is for the first 5 books in the series. I tried to avoid spoilers.

It seems like there is no end to the flood of book series popping up in the Kurtherian universe. It has become a bit of a franchise actually. That’s not a bad thing in itself as long as quality is maintained. So far it has…more or less. The books, the ones that I have read at least, has been of varying quality that has to be said. However, the lowest rating I have given has been three stars with most of them in the four to five star range. The five star books have mostly been the ones written by Michael Anderle himself though.

This book series is another one of those “co-written” by some other author and Michael Anderle. Now I am pretty sure that Michael has had more of a consultant role than doing any actual writing. C.M. Raymond has been doing a pretty good job though.

The books series takes place in a time period after The Queen Bitch left Earth, for the second time, and Earth finally managed to screw up big time. So the world is now a post apocalyptic one with only remnants of science left. A medieval society with nanocyte-induced magic in it.

I quite like the story. The foundation is not really that original. Heroin discovers that she has magic, mysterious man pops up, tells her she is “special”, tutors her. Add a few weird new friends and of course a big bad guy with a diabolical plan, a wee bit of romance and we’re ready to go.

What makes the story a bit above the average thirteen on a dozen such stories is pretty good writing, some nice twists and a fairly interesting connection to the rest of the Kurtherian universe. One that gives plenty of opportunities for development in various directions.

As for the characters, they are quite likable. I do like the heroin. She goes through quite some development at a balanced pace. There’s her old mentor of course, a grumpy dwarf and a few other characters that makes for a quite merry team. Oh, and there is a quite cute little dragon as well of course. Did I say little? On second thought scratch the little part.

The first four books in the series are part of an overall story arc against the main bad guy introduced in the first book in the series. The fifth book hints at the first four being just a bit of warm up for our heroin and that an altogether new story arc with a much bigger and “badder” foe is starting. That doesn’t stop Hanna and her odd band of merry friends to solve a little side story on the way though.

Bottom line, it is fun books to read. It is fairly light reading but still, quite enjoyable.

Oh, one last thing. Should you happen to be the lucky owner of a dragon do NOT feed it coffee!

WOW! Wow! Wow!

What an awesome climax to this first Arc of the Rise of Magic series!

The battle scenes were fricking amazing, and I couldn't decide who to give top marks to for their inventiveness - probably Parker, or possibly Karl, who I love as a character, as he's so Scheissen awesome!

The way that Hannah found her inner vault of power was so effective, that I was ready to bawl my eyes out - until I read on! That was some amazing writing there - and it had the result I've been waiting for since
I first read of the sneering Adrien!

On that note, although there's more to come with this series, I looked at the real reading list of the Age of Magic books, and it seems I must leave this series - for now - and start on a new series, for me, with book one of the Feisty Druid series: The Arcadian Druid!

I feel torn that I have to leave this series, to start a new one, but I'm hoping that, as I read in the Authors' Notes, there's going to be so much more explanation about the various groups ways of doing magic, by those who helped out Ezekiel and Hannah - and it seems the Druids are first!

What fun!

I am so glad I read the authors notes at the end of each book! While reading, I am always reminded of how much fun this collaboration is for all of you and how much the characters are loved or hated. After all, there is no dark without the light. I find myself reading in a frenzy, much as you were probably writing it. I want to thank you all and your families (for putting up with Bashir crazy authors). The only thing I would ask is someone to spelling, missed words, and punctuation check. Sometimes I feel like I hit a purple shield at the speed of magic when this happens! 😵 Again, thanks to all of you!!

Read above. I hope you get my review. It's up above. I'd rewrite here but have to go . Thanks.

Another great addition to the Kurtherian Universe

This subgroup of the KG books has been especially enjoyable. I look forward to the new crop of books they plan to release based on this group. Although I am uncomfortable with the efforts to make these books politically correct and I suspect the authors are all vegan, pantywaist liberals, I am still enjoying the books. Spoiler alert!! In one of the authors notes, one of them said they were glad to finally see the villain "dethroned", if the scene had taken place in the office of the chancellor he could have been defenestrated as well.

Wow

A very increbly journey that Hannah and The Founder Zeke has led us on. I was not really feeling this Age of Magic until I was able to review the time line on what was really going on in the Kurtherian Gambit Series. Happy I stuck with it and may hat goes off to CM Raymond for bringing the chancellor finally to his knees. Great story full of action, adventure, and kickbutt characters. I'm hooked and look forward to the new and exciting challenges ahead. Five stars....keep them coming!!!!

I spent the bulk of this book waiting for it to be over. The author seems to worship at the altar of "world of action girl" trope. The entire book is predictable and attempts to shove every cliche between its pages. Every characters talks the same, acts the same, and thinks the same.

One of my biggest pet peeves of this book (and the entire series to be honest) is how the authors repeatedly tell us how bad ass the main character is instead of SHOWING us. The infuriating thing here is her mentor and some of the other magic users have shown considerably more skill and power, but we're told of the awesomeness of the MC.

Totally 'acceptable' conclusion!

This arc was brilliant and Revolution wrapped it up nicely. The scene with the armour had me in floods, it was so fitting that Hannah should have her own little Bethany Anne moment. Waiting patiently for further adventures (although with the speed you all write I won't be surprised if there's not already one or two in the store!). Onwards to the age of expansion...

Loved it!

I finally finished the last book of this part of the series and now I want more! I have finally found an author who understands that when you create a world for your readers they want to know about everything and every one. A lot like all the Anne McCaffrey Pern books. Its wonderful to know you will always have something to read in this genera that still has the possibility of running into one of your favorite characters!

Good finish to this arc of the story

I don't want to ruin the story for those who haven't read it yet. That being said, Hannah is proving to be a formidable force and she has the loyalty of some truly amazing people. She and Ezekiel have succeeded in this seemingly impossible mission, however there seems to be an even greater threat to take on. I love the characters in this series and the story was engaging.

Go Hannah!!

Well, well, well what an excellent ending for this arc. This installment delivered everything I wanted and than some. Hannah wares her leadership mantel very well. But there's still plenty of room for growth. Parker, Gregory, Maddie and the rest really did a great job and so did the rest of the rebels. I'm looking forward to the next book.

One of the more entertaining and enjoyable Kurtherian spinoff series.
Great charactes, plots and even better is the humour.
Most enjoyable and highly recommended.
Can be read as a separate series but I highly recommend taking the plunge and read the whole set of Kurtherian Gambit novels. Check out Michael Anderle's site for chronological order.

Awesome

I don't often leave reviews for TKU, typically because I am late to them and so many others have already. However, this was one was too good not to. I just have to say, start at Death Becomes Her and catch up! This book's ending was so glorious and well worth the 4 book wait.

I love this series, it's so interesting and complex it just grow better in every book.

Now in this one I have to say, that at last dead was due, but that ending omg we just hurdle one thing and the next it's so huge it catched my breath.

I really do want to know where this series is going to end abd what other trials Hannah and the others will face now.

The gang’s all here

Haven’t read elves yet, but have everything else here, sorcerers, mystics, dwarves ( a personal favorite...called rearicks) everything you need for a good fantasy epic. A bit predictable, but get over it and enjoy. Oh yeah, no pseudo period language...sounds like today, easier to write, but also easier to read.

I loved it, the final chapters were really exciting, I think the previous books were a good preparation to what's coming to the story. I'm intrigued by the origin of this magic, there is a short conversation here about that between Gregory and Ezekiel. Totally recommended, I'm going to start the next book in the series, I cannot wait to see what is coming.

It's about time

This was a good book, but personally I thought the Chancellor should have been killed at least in the last book... I would almost say 2books ago but I guess it would have ruined the story. It was however very satisfying to see him get vaporized.

Another great book. I am glad to see how things turned out for Adrian and a few of his cohorts. I wish some of these things would've happened sooner in the series. Hannah is getting stronger in each book. Karl is my favorite character so far.

Victory!!!

I was worried that some of my favorite characters might not survive the terrible batty. Thanks for keeping them alive, but I know they might not be at the end of this book, let alone the end of the series. But for now I am content.
