Indigo Ink is home on earth to Iris, but as a messenger for the gods, she leads a mysterious life. Producing colorful sketches on the skin fills her time before duty calls. Find the one whose heart dances with the rain. Let love be his forgiveness.

Iris promises to take the challenge to heart, without realizing how close she is to the target.

Riordan deals only in black and white. Losing his fiancée tints his world to gray. With a new job, a new city, and a new outlook on life, he hopes to outrun his past. He doesn’t believe in rainbows and promises, but color blurs all that he thought true. When life is a storm, Riordan just might learn a little brightness clears the clouds and warms the heart.

I'm such a sucker for Elda Lore aka L.B. Dunbar and her paranormal books inspired by greek mythology. No matter if it's a short story or a full lenght novel, she knocks me on my ass every time and makes me crave for more. Her words are pure magic! A message for Iris was another winner from her and is a must for all who are looking for a short, well-written and highly intriguing read.

Iris is a messenger for the gods and is leading a mysterious life. She calls Indigo Ink her home on earth where she puts on colorful tatoos on other people's skin. But she has an other responsibility too. As Dear Iris she is helping the lovesick who are seeking her advice by writing her letters. Iris' newest mission involves delivering a special message to a human: "Find the one whose heart dances with the rain. Let love be his forgiveness."

Iris promises to take the challenge to heart, without realizing how close she is to the target.

Riordan's world is all black and white. After losing his fiancée he moves to a new city looking for a new job and a fresh start. Riordan doesn’t believe in rainbows and promises until he meets Iris who starts to fill his world with vivid colors, opening his eyes and heart to things he never thought possible...

Read this beautiful story and let these two steal your heart. But one fair warning: this book includes some very unexpected but brilliant twists and turns! I loved and enjoyed each and every word. Great job Elda Lore!

This was a short and very enjoyable read. I'm a huge fan of Elda Lore's PRN books. She simply breathes pure magic into these stories and creates characters you can't but fall irrevocably in love with. Elda knows how to combine mystical worlds with contemporary romance that spark your attention from the very first page.

Iris is the owner of Indigo Ink but she is also a messenger for the gods. Due to this calling she needs to lead a low profile life. Not many people know about her secret; only the ladies who support her with Dear Iris - her other big responsibility. She and her great team give advice and comfort to the lovelorn who seek it. Iris newest mission however is to deliver a message to a human without knowing how close she's going to get to the target:

"Find the one whose heart dances with the rain. Let love be his forgiveness."

Charlie Riordan's world has changed from colorful to grey when his fiancee broke his heart. With a new job in a new city he hopes to outrun his past and build a peaceful future. Gone are the days when he was a troublemaker. Riordan doesn’t believe in rainbows and promises until he meets Iris. She not only turns out to be his new boss but also the woman of his dreams - someone he is not supposed to get involved with. But as their feelings start to grow for each other they won't be able to stay away and escape destiny ...

I loved Iris and Riordan. They had great chemistry together. I loved their banter and their ability to laugh together and share intimate moments. In each other they finally found their missing half.

"Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass; it's about learning to dance in the rain."

I recommend this sweet and touching story from the bottom of my heart and give it 4.5 well deserved stars. Well done, Elda Lore!

This book was more than just your average gods books. This was a look into the real life of a god and their struggle. Iris is a talented tattoo artist who also gives advice to those in need. She is filled with compassion, understanding and sass. She will not let anyone stand in her way or push her to her limits. She doesn't need a man in her life he would just mess it up. The she meets Riordan one kiss and she can't help but want more. The question is can she move on from the past or shy away from love because she is afraid to get hurt? Riordan is a beautiful broken soul just looking to get through the day. He carries a burden on his chest that will never go away. He doesn't really let anyone in because after what he did he doesn't deserve. Then he meets Iris and he can't walk away. This book takes you on a journey of not just love but forgiveness and understanding. I love LB's writing style and her books take you on a path that may leave you bleeding and broken but will eventually lead you home to where your life is complete. I can't wait to see the next god that LB has for us.
I was gifted an ARC for an honest review.

I love stories about the ancient gods in modern times and this was a great example.
Iris has always been my favorite goddess. I think it has to do with rainbows being associated with her honestly lol.
She lives in Hawaii running a tattoo shop while still keeping up with her messenger duties. She has a very small circle of friends that while they know some they don't know it all. When it comes time to hire a new tattooist she would prefer a woman because of the "secret" business in the back but she gets Charlie.
Against her better instincts a relationship develops. The twists and turns it takes is awesomely amazing. I have to say their connection was something I never saw or even dreamed to be coming.
This was a great take on mondern gods.

I loved this book, I couldn't put it down. Riordan and Iris are imperfectly beautiful. A fast and fun read, you will be immediately immersed into the life of a modern-day goddess of Olympus and how she must manage her mission on earth while finding love.

A heavenly love story.... Aside from being a tattoo artist, Iris answers letters from people who are in need of help in one way or another...some are from people at the ends of their lives, some do not know who is the right love for them, some just need a little advise about a marriage. Riordan, also is a tattoo artist who ends up working for Iris. He has a dark past, one he feels he deserves no redemption for. Iris and Riordan are a unique couple...one full of color the other black and white... but the chemistry is undeniable. From the moment they met, it was steamy and fun. This is a short read...but one worth reading.

Godess comes to Earth lives as a tattoo artist. Love it!!!
I loved the imagery in this story. She was the light to his dark in so many ways.
Charlie/Riordan was a sad guilt riddled man. Covered in dark tattoos
Iris was a bright magical girl. Covered in colorful tattoos.
Both hurt in past and left believing love was not meant for them
Being together was Wrong for so many reasons and Right for so many more. They were so different but the old saying rang true opposite attract. A very strange twist of fate pushed them apart and tied them together at the same time.
I wanted them together but I didn't see how. I couldn't stop reading I had to see how it played out, I had to know how and if this would work.
I couldn't give it 5 stars because I am a greedy reader and wanted more!!
This looks to be a fun mythological series featuring various authors with a variety of stories and characters!

A Message for Iris by Author Elda Lore is a short story in the Gods of Olympus Book 3.

"This girl wasn’t made for handshakes on the sidewalk. She deserved to dance in the rain under moonlight, but I wasn’t the guy for such romance. I was the type more likely to melt the pavement."

Charlie Riordan is a man with a past that he'd rather leave behind. That's exactly what he did when he moved to Maui and began living with his younger brother. Iris is the woman of his dreams that he will likely never have. But one glimpse at her and he is ready to break his rules.

“Without rain, nothing grows; embrace the storms of your life and learn from them.”

Although a fast read, this short story revealed a link between the hero and heroine that was a slow burn and held promises that would happen if they would give in and let fate be their guide. I loved that Iris and Riordan shared saucy, sexy, and laughable moments together. This aspect showed so much of their character and caused an easy connection with me to each of them. The other-worldly element was a fascinating mix, not enough to overwhelm the story, but just enough to kick up the intrigue. In typical Author Elda Lore style, we also had some great secondary characters that seemed to tie up all of the loose ends and keep our main characters on track.

“It can’t always be sunshine and rainbows. Let’s dance in the rain and make the bad weather beautiful, too.”

A Message for Iris was a sweet and refreshing story that gave Iris and Riordan their second chance at new love.

I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader Copy of this book. I devoured this book in one afternoon and adored it. Iris is the sunshine to Riordan's cloudy day. This sweet paranormal read gave me all kinds of"feels." It was a well-written, page turning book with a terrific twist that sealed it all together. After reading this story, I have a strong desire to write a message in a bottle.

Once I started, I couldn't set it down

Iris and Riordan have a connection that reaches above and beyond what you normally find in books.
As the story built, I often found myself with chills. Good ones. Like butterflies in my tummy.
The light to his dark. The rainbow to his storm.
This was wonderful. I wish there was more

Fun, quick read. No where as good as Modern Descendants but still entertaining. A bit of love, heat and tension, all combine for a significant twist.

I will be viewing rainbows a little differently now. They will no long be just a beautiful display of Mother Nature. I will fall into a day dream; another realm.

He was darkness to her light. Black to her rainbows. She swore she would never love again, jeopardize her heart, feel that pain of betrayal. He carried so much guilt for his past, he didn't deserve love or forgiveness. This is such an amazing story written as only this author can do in this manner. The message is loud and clear except to those it was intended. The way this author shares this story takes you to a place in your own past as you dance on the rainbow and learn that your heart beats for that special person. . . and their heart beats for you.

Great story and characters and a background that is so well developed you could see it before your eyes. This author is multidimensional in her stories to make sure your experience is complete.

Iris is the Messenger of the Olympian Gods. In this book she is also a kick a$$ lady. I fell in love with her. As she mourns a love in the past she feels there is no love in the future for her. Wait until she meets the new tattoo artist. He is a brooding male who is running from the past. When bright and dark meet it is tumultuous. I have not read the other stories in this series but after reading this one need to look into them. They can all be read as a standalone.

This story was a quick read but packed with love, darkness, light, twists and plenty of angst. Throughout the entire story I didn't know if there would be an HEA but with plenty of holding my breath I was happy with the ending.

3.5

I like the lot of aspects of this story and the characters but there were still some things that I didn't relate to. Going to make a happy ending then if he hooks up with Iris why can't his life become immortal also. I didn't like the fact that Charlie's going to continue to age and Iris' going to watch him die! Another question I had was why did the two x's end up in hell? Just because they were cheaters... that really wasn't covered a whole lot and I guess we learned a little bit about Henney's character when she refused to forgive! Also, was Iris' sister really helping her or not? Interesting possibilities with this storyline but there were still some points that needed to be worked a little better.

We all need rainbows & Dancing in the rain

Iris a goddess does not believe she needs love or is deserving; Charlie has rebelled all his life & because of one disastrous night he feels his penance is a life of darkness & he dose not deserve love or happiness. Iris & Riordan (Charlie) meet and sparks fly between them; they both feel the connection for different reasons they try to keep apart but the pull is too strong. Go on this journey and find out if Iris & Riodan can find love, happiness, forgiveness, and acceptance.
I couldn't put this story down it captured my heart. Thank you Elda lore for another great adventure.

I did it, I read an Elda Lore "paranormal" novel! It was fantastic and for the most part you were reading just a modern day love story. I usually steer clear of fantasy/paranormal but Elda Lore put in the right mix of fantasy and reality so that you hardly noticed you had escaped the confines of an earthly story. Iris is a modern day messenger from the gods. Charlie is a human in need of a "second chance" at life. Could these two star crossed lovers exist together on the earthly plain? I loved this story and now I will be checking out her Modern Descendants series. She has me hooked.

I love this wonderful story of how opposites attract regardless of what obstacles are put in their way.
so worth reading!.

Iris the tattoo artist is a wonderfully colorful and loving person and Iris the Messenger of the Gods is by no means less cororful and loving but she has to keep her job a secret from man-kind.

Riordan is her 'other half' but will they find each other before it is too late? Iris' message to deliver;
Find the one whose heart dances with the rain. Let love be his forgiveness. ' is certainly keeping her on her toes....

Iris owns a tattoo shop called Indigo Ink but is also a messenger goddess, a secret only a few people know about. Riordan is a heartbroken man who is hoping for a fresh start with a new job at Indigo Ink. Iris and Riordan have great chemistry right from the start. I really enjoyed seeing their relationship grow and blossom This is a wonderful, fascinating romance with intriguing twists. Highly recommended!!

A Message for Iris was the perfect pick-me-up between long reads. Even though the story is shorter than the usual Dunbar creation, it is full of excitement, romance, intrigue, and interesting characters.

If all of the books in this anthology are this good, I'm going to be one happy girl.

What a wonderful story about love and why we never think we deserve it or can have it. Iris and Riordan have a lot of baggage but manage to finally get through it all and forgive themselves and be with each other. I love the visual of all the ink and such a colorful sexy story.

Iris and Riordan's story is definitely emotion packed. It pulles you right in from the start. The mythology aslect is there but not a major aspect. At the heart it's a second chance romance done beautifully.

As always with one of this author's books, I enjoyed it cover to cover. I have always loved mythology, so I'm loving the modern day tales.
Iris is a tattoo artist by day and a messenger for the God/Goddesses by night. Riordan is a designer/tattoo artist. She is bright colors and rainbows, he is all black and white. Not just in their art but their personalities as well. But, as they say, opposites attract.
Everything seems stacked against them, but they have great chemistry from the moment they meet. Can they overcome the odds?
This story grabbed my attention right from the beginning and keeps you wanting more until the end.

A Message for Iris was another great read from Elda Lore, she has definitely become one of my favorite authors. This was a short read but just as well written as her longer books. A Message for Iris was a great story about two people who didn't think they deserve love but have such amazing chemistry they just can't seem to stay away from each other. I look forward to checking out the rest of the Gods of Olympus series and i look forward to reading Elda’s next book.

Elda Lore spins a magic tale of love in A Message for Iris. Iris and Riordin prove the opposites attract, but both have been through the wringer and neither are interested in romance. Through their work together, things light up!

I really enjoyed this book, I love Elda Lore's spin on mythology, she spins a great web of a story that draws you in and keeps you there. Iris and Riordin are both great characters and Elda did a magnificent job at letting them each tell their story about love and loss and second chances at life.

This really is a stand-alone book.
