Morocco's magic can overwhelm even the most practical sensibility. European shores, though so close, seem far removed, as the sights, smells, and textures of North Africa welcome the traveler. Traditionally garbed men wear long, hooded robes, or djellabas, while women may be draped in blue haiks, their faces veiled with black scarves that leave only their dark, khol-reimmed eyes visible. The mountain, desert, and ocean vistas reveal nature's inexorable forces at work, while in the towns, bustling markets give way to narrow alleys down which a traveler might find small, cave-like, and possibly magical shops selling rare powders and spices, or even a jinn embodying the ancient power of Morocco Look for other titles in the Timeless Places series.
