Kyle wants it all…
Kyle Stuyvesant doesn’t believe in love and romance. His parents taught him that there’s no such thing as forever, and he took the lesson to heart. After all, there’s only one woman who ever tempted him to more than a single hot night together. Fortunately for his convictions, she’s married to another guy. Problem solved—until Lauren’s marriage collapses and Kyle isn’t just the bearer of bad news, but the man she turns to for comfort.

Lauren demands his all…
When Lauren’s marriage implodes, she wants to lose herself in pleasure and sensation. Who knows that territory better than Kyle, the eternal playboy, who seduced her so deliciously years before? It was a night Lauren never forgot, and now that she wants to forget everything, Kyle is the only man she wants. Will she be able to accept his terms of no love or romance? Or will Lauren convince Kyle to take a chance on wanting more?

Addicted to Love
Deborah Cooke
Book two of Deb Cooke’s Flatiron 5 series is a friend to lovers/second chance romance featuring a strong willed heroine looking for her perfect match and a hero who doesn’t believe in forever. Employing her usual outstanding storytelling she spins a playful, seductive tale highlighting the sights and sounds of NYC while plotting a rocky obstacle strewn road to love. Her witty dialogue is a perfect match for her successful characters and urban settings, her couple is genuine and likeable and the love scenes are explosive. If you’re looking for an unforgettable read, a romance that’s a little bit naughty and a little bit nice and a whole lot of fun put this on your must read for summer list.
SUMMARY:
It’s awful but not really surprising when Lauren McKay learns her husband was caught cheating on her, what’s disturbing was that he was caught doing it at her brother’s exclusive club. When the bearer of bad news is not only her brother’s business partner and best friend but also her long ago one time fling, she gets a perfect idea for an ego booster. So she propositions the commitment phobic who gave her multiple orgasms one night many years ago.
Kyle Stuyesant doesn’t believe in happy ever afters, just happy one nighters, but there was one night years ago with a fantastic lover he’s never forgotten. In the mean time he became best friends with that lover’s brother and promised him he’d never mess with any of his sisters. But he knows without a doubt when she calls him for a hook-up after she kicks her no-good husband to the curb he won’t say no. When it becomes more than one time and he still can’t get her out of his system, it’s only because she constantly surprises him not because she’s becoming important to him.

I almost didn’t read this one. Didn’t particularly like book one, Simply Irrisitable, so I wasn’t in a rush to try more. Man am I glad I went back and tried it. Loved every second of it. It has the kind of character development rarely seen in romance novels. Everything happens within a few days, maybe a week or two, but this one started twelve years ago when they first met, then flash-forward to present day and he is her brother’s best friend, their past is a secret, she is married and he is the bearer of bad news. From that moment on it is a slow burn and a strong build up to a great relationship. It spans months and Cooke does it seamlessly with no dull parts. It was great. I loved the slow build. I loved that Kyle had to work for it and that Lauren refused to settle. The progression of the book was great and the conflicts were strong. I loved how Lauren set her cheating ex-husband straight in front of a group of strangers, and I love how Kyle grew from a man who wanted nothing but one night stands, to one who wanted forever and how he grew as a character. There isn't anything I didn’t like about this book.

Kyle and Lauren

Addicted to Love is the second in the series of The Flat Iron Five. After having second thoughts about this series, Kyle and Lauren were the couple I met that I wanted to know more about. I'm glad that I overcame any misgivings after reading Simply Irresistible and read this one.

As unbelievable as Simply Irresistible was, this one has all the making of a true romance, not just a romance book filled with sex. You could feel how they Lauren and Kyle felt for each other even when they were characters in the other book.

All the characters in this book were real and drew you in. Even Ty and Amy were more real in their brief appearances. My favorite character was Lauren's grandmother. Lauren gained so much from her and was able to share how important family was to Kyle. Kyle was honest to a fault but had no idea how precious it was to be involved in a family. All of the characters were interesting and real. It's sad because I want to read a book about Theo but his story was not one of the series.

Addicted to Love showed that sex was sensuous and familiar making the characters more real. This is probably the last of the series for me but is one that I'll reread.

I have been waiting for this book since I finished reading the first book in this series. Five friends own F5 a gym with all kinds of things going on for the good looking people of NY. In this book, Kyle - the man-whore of the group finds out that one-night stands with different women each time isn't as great as he'd always thought it was. What changed his mind - he caught his partner's brother-in-law cheating. He was the one who told Ty's sister what he found - they had hooked up 12 years ago on spring break but there was always something there between them. When she decides that she needs some mindless sex she knows who to call.
Deb Cooke does an amazing job of drawing these characters out - like a flower blooming - they both start out as very private people, not trusting friends to share what is going on in their lives. Together, they help each other grow and come to trust others and know love. As each chapter goes by, you can see them grow and blossom as they come to realize their love for each other.
I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Kyle had a whirlwind vacation romance with Lauren 12 years ago. That was before he realized that she was the younger sister of his partner, Tyler. Unaware of their tryst, Tyler warned notorious womanizer Kyle away from his sisters as general policy. When Kyle and Lauren reconnected after the now married Lauren found out her husband had been cheating on her, the flames of passion still burned. Determined not to cause Lauren more pain, Kyle was determined, and unable, to keep his distance from the woman who stirred thoughts of happily ever after, home and family within him. Lauren, knowing that Kyle didn’t believe in forever, tried her best (and failed) to keep him at a “friends without benefits” distance. Good secondary characters, terrific dialog and lovely descriptive prose kept me up late at night to finish the story.
A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my honest opinion.

Addicted to Love is highly addictive and one of the best contemporary romances I have read. Finding out that her husband is cheating, Lauren kicks him out and embarks on revengeful romp with her brother's best friend. Kyle has always been a player and when given the opportunity to relive the one night stand from years before he jumps at the chance to be with Lauren again. Lauren means to keep things temporary but a friendship begins that changes things for the both of them. Super steamy with a really sweet HEA, the book's pages fly by for a read I could not put down. I cannot wait for the next Flatiron book, I'm totally addicted to this series! A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book, and my comments here are my honest opinion.

Addicted to Love (Flatiron Five Book 2) by Deborah Cooke is part of the hotter contemporary series she has been writing. While the Dragons of Incendium and the Dragonfire Series are still my favorites this is a good series to add to her repertoire.

Take one male who doesn’t believe in real love and one female who has had her dreams of love shattered, add in a sizzling chemistry, you will have the synopsis of this plot. Only that love which they no longer believe in raises its lovely head. Kyle and Lauren grow as individuals while becoming a couple making this story entertaining. From hot to a sweet finish this is a fun read.

The publisher/author gave me a complimentary ARC of the book.

This was a well-written, sexy romance. Lauren's marriage falls apart, and she wants to enjoy some sensual pleasure. She turns to Kyle, who once gave her a night she'll never forget. Kyle has never forgotten the night with Lauren either, and can't pass up the chance for another night with her. He doesn't believe in long term, love or romance, though. Can Lauren accept Kyle's terms? Can Kyle take a risk and try for more? This was such a great book. This book can be read as a standalone story, though it is the second in the Flatiron Five series. I have enjoyed both books in this series and look forward to reading the next one, as well as other books by this author. I received an ARC of this book. I have voluntarily provided a review consisting of my honest opinions.

Addicted To Love (Flatiron 5 #2)
A strong story and a deeper look into this world. Kyle Stuyvesant is Ty McKay’s best friend from college; Lauren is Ty’s first sister ( he has four) and Ty extracted a promise from Kyle that his sisters were off limits. But Ty doesn’t know that Kyle and Lauren had met during Spring Break twelve years before the promise, not knowing each other’s last names or locations.
Kyle find safety in numbers, using honesty to navigate the social waters. Lauren’s marriage implodes with proof of infidelity. This is a story of growth and ownership, presented pleasantly and logically.

Enjoyed this immensely! Both characters grow and change over the book, which covers about a year. There wasn't any histrionics or game playing, just brutal honesty between the characters. We catch up with Ty and Amy from the first book in this series, this is the second book, but it stands alone. I felt the emotions of the characters and they rang true. Ms Cooke writes her characters completely full body, as well as steamy adult situations. Looking forward to the next book. This copy was provided for me for an honest opinion.

Sweet playboy

I loved this new installment in the series. A case of playboy gets tamed.
Despite his reputation, Kyle is very lovable because of how he treats the women he connects with. We learn as the story unfolds why he had aversion to relationships, until Lauren sweeps back into his life that is. Love their connection and how they organically change their course towards each other. He is sweet and so madly in love with Lauren, it is hard not to fall in love with him. I was sad at the loss of Grandma Trixie, she was a great character. Looking forward to Damon's story.

What the heart wants...

Book two equals the first book in the series, drawing me in with slowly getting to know characters you have to love, scars and all. I'm not a fan of tmii (too much intimate information) which this book has a lot of, but I still enjoyed the romantic fantasy of beautiful people working hard to live the good life and finding nothing fills the heart but a committed relationship.

What a great story!

Ty's oldest sister, Lauren, is the first to marry of the sisters and the first of the marriages to break apart. Lauren's first love is the one to show her proof that her husband, Mark, is cheating on her. Kyle and Lauren first met in California while on vacation. Neither of them knows that his best friend and her brother are the same person. What a great story this is!

I really liked this one

This is the 2nd book I have read in the series. I really like how Ms. Cooke writes her heroines. They are uncompromising and I really like that. They are decisive and know exactly what they want. Lauren was a great character to read about. I love a book that doesn't have the female character wishy-washy about their feelings. It was a good flow and good character development throughout the whole book. I would definitely recommend this book.

Author couldn't keep previous characters correct

I was so confused whenever the character from book 1 (Try and should have been Shannyn) kept referring to another person. As well as how they met and her job. Not until I was 75% into the book did it finally blend the characters with the first book. This was such a distraction that I speed read and skipped much,it was also predictable. Won't read anything else from this site as she can't even keep her characters straight.

Everything you want in a romance!

Kyle and Lauren’s story is one I’ve been dying to read and it doesn’t disappoint! This story sweeps you along with Lauren’s hurt, betrayal, anger and finding herself again. It’s not a surprise that this couple comes together in the end, but their self discoveries are a wonderful bonus!
