Il miglior libro nella categoria mistero dell'estate 2016
Agent Sercret Service Britannico, Richard Maxwell è abile in modi inconcepibili. Destinato a proteggere la donna che un tempo è stato assegnato per uccidere, si inizia indagando un altro pezzo enigmatica del suo passato. Un mistero che potrebbe esporre una verità ineccepibile in Inghilterra ... l'amara verità.
I was asked by the author to review this book and unfortunately, it was just an okay read for me.
The Plot: I liked the storyline and I was intrigued to unravel the mystery. There was lots of potential for this story.
Writing Style: There were way too many grammatical errors for me which affected the flow of the story for me. And I found it really hard to grasp who was who at the beginning because of the third person narrative.
Characters: Unfortunately I couldn't connect to the characters either which is something I specifically look for in every book I read.
Overall, this book had a lot of promise. If there had been fewer grammatical errors, first person narrative and more story to the characters, I think I would definitely have enjoyed it more.
If you are going to read this book I highly recommend physically reading rather than listening to the audiobook. I chose the audiobook and have some complaints. The reader does not change her voice, accent or anything else to let you know who is talking. In most audiobooks the reader will give each character their own voice or way of speaking. Because of this, I was lost almost the entire book. I couldn’t figure out which characters I knew and which were new characters. There were a few of course that I recognized by name but even then I had trouble figuring out who was talking. In addition, she reads every single sentence with the same inflection. It’s like having a robot read to you, no emotion. Honestly, it’s hard for me to say if it was just because of the way it was read or if it was because of the way it was written but I was confused the entire time. I didn’t even understand what the point of it all was and who was good and who was bad. I felt like at times I was expected to know things that I had just somehow completely missed. At the end, it gets very weird. And I left it feeling like I had no idea what just happened and why I spent hours listening to this book to not even know what it was really about. I feel bad writing this because it’s clear the author thought hard about the concept and tried to make it work but it just didn’t land for me. Maybe reading it and being able to see who’s speaking and read it with your own emotions behind things would give a very different experience.
"The Prime Minister Is Targeted For Elimination And He Will Be Assassinated"
This message begins the crazy wild nonstop espionage thriller The Bitter Truth by award winning independent author Ed Silva Jr.

Richard is now hunted by the very government he worked for, the people he swore to protect and finds a truth that will put the future of the Monarchy in jeopardy. The one thing he knows is the world needs to know "The Bitter Truth."
This story was fun, energetic, full of shocks and brought back memories of The Da Vinci Code and had a universal message that "When all else fails tell the truth."
I received a free copy of this audiobook from the author for a fair and honest review. All opinions are my own.
I was gifted a copy of this book by the author in exchange for my honest review.
While I read a lot of thrillers, I don’t read many political ones. That might be why I didn’t love this book. I enjoyed the twists and turns, but there were a lot of characters and minute details and at times, I was a bit lost. The plot is quite interesting as it demonstrates corruption and secrecy at the highest levels of government. It’s also action-packed and very fast-paced, both of which I appreciate in thrillers.
One detail that made me chuckle was the fact that in the middle of escaping capture, Richard (one of the main characters) realizes he’s hungry! It just made his character so much more human to me. I mean, just because you’re a super Special Agent on the run doesn’t mean that you don’t eat! 😂
Overall, if you’re looking for a political thriller with lots of twists and turns, or you enjoy a good conspiracy theory, this may be the book for you!
I was approached by the author, Ed Silva Jr. and asked to read The Bitter Truth in exchange for an honest review. My thoughts and opinions are my own. The plot of the story centers around Richard Maxwell and Jessica Cardelini as they investigate the circumstances of Maxwell’s mothers death and what she was discovering while in a Black Ops Unit for the British Parliament. Like the previous audio books I had listened to by this author, author Ed Silva Jr. knocks it out of the park in terms of researching the setting the story takes place in and explicitly detailing every aspect so the reader can ‘see’ everything as they read. For me, as a reader, this can become a double edged sword because sometimes I felt like the story dragged on because there were so many details. If you are a reader who enjoys political fiction, political thrillers and conspiracy theories then this book will hit all of your boxes. It’ll especially hit all of your boxes if you prefer stories that keep you guessing until the end because that is what author Ed Silva Jr. was able to accomplish with The Bitter Truth.
I would like to thank the author for sending me an ARC copy to review it.
The cover photo of the book looks really interesting and the illustrations are pretty cool. This book has been filled with action and adventure for me.
The author has good writing skills and has tried to keep the plot engaging. The plot has been written in a quite entertaining way. I will definitely recommend this book to thriller lovers.
