Ana loves alphas, and the gorgeous women who strive to tame them.
The bestselling co-author of Boss Me, Bind Me and Fake It For Me, Ana Sparks travels the world and writes steamy contemporary romance that never fails to provide a HEA.
If she’s not reading or writing something spicy, she’s probably with her good friend Layla Valentine, sipping on a pornstar martini as they cook up their next juicy story.
This was a great book, loved it. I hope there is a second book, if not I hate the ending, but I'm pretty sure there's going to be another. This is a very sexy story, and so much more.
It was great. There was lots of chemistry, heat and hot sex. Then there was some drama.
The ending sucked! Big time. Boom we're together and done. No resolution with the parents. Plus, I only half understand how this is in a series called bosses and babies.
Jen has just finished visiting her parents, being told that if she doesn't apply for medical school for the upcoming semester, they will cut her off financially. Jen doesn't want to apply, she wants to take a year off to travel, but knows she will have no money to do so. Her parents are both affluent doctors and expect her to pick a medical specialty immediately. She only borrows money when she is desperate, she has a job as a bartender to help pay the bills. Her roommate Karen convinces her they need a girls night out with three of their friends to take her mind off of her parents. They are taking a back road to go to a hot nightclub a few towns over, and the car breaks down in the middle of nowhere and a tow will take over an hour to get there. The person on the phone tells them there is a bar a short distance up the road where they can wait for the tow. When they enter the filthy bar, all conversations stop. They are very much out of place in the dive bar and sit at the bar. The girls all want to leave, but Jen tells Karen she doesn't want to go out with them and will take a cab home. She is tired of them telling her she isn't daring and is predictable. The bartender, Dan chats with her as she ignores the rednecks making rude comments towards her. When one of the guys at the table behind her comes up to grab her ass, Dan vaults the bar and goes at him. The redneck and his three friends quickly leave. Dan asks her if he can sit and have a drink with her, she agrees and ends up staying until closing. Dan drives her to a field so they can look at the stars, he asks where she would like to go. maybe back to his place? She asks him to kiss her, and they get hot and heavy and head back to his place. They take a shower and have sex, they eat, then have marathon sex until she passes out. The next morning he tells her to get dressed and go, he doesn't do relationships. Jenn is upset, but kisses his cheek as she goes out to the cab he has waiting for her. A few weeks after Jen and Dan have their one night stand, Jen feels sick and then realizes she hasn't had her period. The test says pregnant and she has to go let Dan know. Jen goes to the bar and the bartender working tells her Dan is at his usual place when he isn't working the bar. She tells the bartender it is super important she speaks to Dan and is given the address of where he is, but is told not to tell who gave it to her. Jen finds the address is an abandoned building in a bad neighborhood. she goes to the side of the building and finds it is an underground fight club. She looks around for Dan and hears the next bout is a Dan fighting. she never found out Dan's last name, so she takes a guess and heads to the locker room. knocking on the door that says Dan, she gets no answer and just walks in and finds Dan with a topless woman and he yells to get out until he recognizes Jen. He tells the topless woman to go, and before she can talk to him, his opponent comes barrelling in to talk trash. On his way out he grabs Jen by the ass and tells her how he is going to do her after he beats Dan. They were about to brawl in the locker room, but Jen stepped in and told Dan to save it for the ring. Before he goes out to fight, she tells him she is pregnant and he is the father. He tells her to wait for him in the locker room. Jen doesn't listen and watches the fight, seeing Dan beat the guy so hard, that the crowd freaks and starts screaming that he killed him. Jen takes off with Dan on her tail. She gets in and starts the car and yells for him to get in and burns rubber out of there. A little while later he calls someone to find out if he killed the guy. After he is told the guy is in a coma, Jen goes on the run with him to her parents vacation home. How will Dan react when it sinks in that Jen is pregnant, he is a fugitive, and Jen saved his bacon?
Review of Bare What can I say about Bare. I think it would be rude to just call it a contemporary romance because it is so much more. Yes, there are steamy scenes and drama. Nevertheless, the story is about so much more than your typical the typical insta-love romance that is pushing for happily ever after. This novel is about life itself and, in my opinion, that is what sucks the readers in. We have all been young and have doubts about we want to do with our lives. Jen, our heroine, isn’t an exception. She is surrounded by third party expectations. Her parents expect her to attend medical school and be a doctor, like them. Her friends want her to be more daring. However, she just wants to have time to breath and look for what she really wants to do with her life. I believe we all have been there and some, myself included, are still at said stage. That kind of explains the instant connection that I had with Jen. The funny thing about this story is that, just like life, fate is determined to push you to your limits. It raises you enough to touch the sky and then pull you down in the blink of an eye. This happened to Jen, she met someone that seemed different. Someone that she felt a certain connection with. Yes, this attraction leads to steamy sex but, honestly, I understand her need for him to be different, her desired to do what she felt for once and, of course, her pain and disappointment when things didn’t go her way. The desire to travel or the pressure of her parts to send her to medical school was a walk in the park compared to what life had in store for her and the jerk of our hero, Dan. Two horizontal bars were the star of everything for them, for better or worse. What I loved about the book was how it portrayed the human emotions and reactions during critical and difficult decisions. Our main character showed immaturity, recklessness, fear and so many traits displayed by the young. However, they grew into better characters that were both responsible and supportive. Attraction turned into a deeper connection and, I am pleased to tell, the end was something real. There was not a: they lived happily ever after with millions and a big house at an exotic place with its own private beach. You may not understand it now, but you will, in time. The ending was good, felt real and left enough for our characters to keep growing in the future. Reviewer of Romance Authors That Rock
I live in Texas, so it seems obvious the author knows nothing about Texas. The characters talk about it being cold so I assume it is January. Honestly, Texas does get cold in January. But usually it goes with the fronts, compared to the rest of the country, we do have cold snaps where it does freeze, Austin can get snow rarely, Dallas yes, they often get snow each year. Mainly Texas gets hot! If the H is going to take the h to the beach to see her run nude, he will have a 3+ hour ride. We have no basements in Texas. I know that is a blanket statement, but here are a couple of reasons, we around Houston have ground water much of the time at 1 foot! Austin, San Antonio and the hill country is on a huge limestone water recharge area, so you don't go digging into rock, especially since much of it now is protected. Much of the Texas is what my husband calls caliche, but I think properly is called clay. Old mansions out in the middle of nowhere are probably Plantations, or from an old plantation. The author doesn't give much information, on any of this, directions the couple drive, what the mansion is like, is it near a town? The reason seems clear, she has no idea! Oh, Austin is pretty much like a continuos city from SanAntonio to maybe Waco. Austin is pretty prosperous, finding a really seedy bar? Maybe, maybe not. Oh, if you want to drive out of Texas in most any direction, you have probably at least a 5 hour drive at the least, since it is pretty central in Texas. So, from one Texan, I found this story setting unreal.
Great book! I resonate with it having to make such a hard decision in life and just wanting to relax for once! Too bad my story doesn't come with a super sexy fugative (eh, not that I want one) and a surprise baby (hopefully this doesn't ever happen either but who knows). Together they are automatically meant for each other no doubt about it. Seriously I don't care if he's my baby daddy I probably wouldn't go to that extent for a fugative. Jen takes care of him like her life depends on it and all the while enjoying some super steamy sex! It's a wild love story I'm sure many people would love so, 1) 5 stars, 2) one day read, 3) why haven't you gotten it already?? It's so good!
3* Jennifer meets dan in his bar after the the car she's in with her friends breaks down on the way to a nightclub. She's the sensible one but her parents are pushing her career wise. Dan hasn't had an easy life but is drawn to Jen he feels protective of her but pushes her away. Can they reconnect & do they have a future? Lovely story but would of liked a longer ending. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. Short story
ARC review for honest review. Jennifer and her friends go out for a girls night out ,but when the car breaks down she decides to stay at the bar .so she can think about some things while there she meets Dan the bartender. This story has a lot of sex in it which is very hot ,but I hope to have a second part of the book to find out how they need are with the family.
