Anything is possible for the women in apartment 7B.
Secrets have a way of snowballing, even in the scorching heat of southern California.
Cam Harris just has to clean up his act enough to get the part in a family friendly, major motion picture, and then he can go back to his partying ways as long as he keeps them secret. But what if he doesn’t want to party all the time? His brother Zach won’t let him forget they are the Harris Brothers, and partying is their style. Cam wants more from life than beer, blunts, and babes, but he’s not sure how to break free.
Rose Underwood has no money at the middle of the month, much less the end. She needs a miracle, but flashing flesh at the struggling diner where she serves burgers and fries isn’t cutting it…Until the Harris Brothers walk into her life. After getting invited to Zach’s party, she’s over the moon, but she doesn’t understand Zach wants her there as a party girl for pay. The misunderstanding boils over when Cam comes to her rescue—well, kind of rescue. His act of “kindness” makes life much worse for Rose and may cause her to lose her job. When Rose’s journalist roommate, Kady, hears about the incident with the Harris Brothers, she is livid since she didn’t get in on the action. Now Rose may lose her job, and her place to live. Secrets are thick, and keeping them quiet is impossible in Hollywood. It seems like life can’t get any worse, but that’s where Rose is so very wrong.
Q & A with the authors
Q – Where did you get the idea for the Hollywood Binge series?
A from Julia - I love pure romance. Writing romance without a mystery or paranormal element is my heart. I think Hollywood with all its glitz and glam is exciting, but more than just exciting, Hollywood is people. It’s dreams and disappointments wrapped up with dirty, perfect, imperfect, lovely, and disgusting life.
A from Rylie – Well said, Julia. I completely agree. Hollywood is a mindset, a place of dreams and hope, a place for new identities and second chances. It’s fast paced, open-minded and thousands of miles away from West Texas.
Q – Julia’s male character is a movie star and Rylie’s is a football player, did you focus on a specific type of career for the guys?
A from Julia – I love the idea of old Hollywood, but I didn’t want to write about the past, but the present. Bad boys and their toys are exciting and Cam Harris knows how to get into and out of a load of trouble. I didn’t force the career for Cam, he just kind of picked it.
A from Rylie – What I like about the Hollywood area, no one’s bigger than the area. In LA, sports in general, football in particular aren’t near the live and breathe mid-set like in other place such as Pittsburgh or Dallas. I like Roan getting a taste of being a small fish in a big pond. What’s different for me than Julia, I think I needed Roan’s big attitude lost in the hills of Hollywood. Dark and dreamy is plentiful in Orange County. Not quite so many cheerleaders cheering him on from the sidelines. He’s got to get knocked down a peg or two.
Q – What was the most difficult part of writing about Hollywood?
A from Julia – There are plenty of preconceived notions about Hollywood and how the other half lives. I’ve found that Hollywood is more than an idea or a cliché. It’s hope and dreams that mix with real life people who are working hard to make their way in the world.
A from Rylie – Well, Hollywood isn’t West Texas. Getting the vibe down while losing the cliché as Julia pointed out was important. Las Angeles is an eclectic hub of every nationality all packed into one place. I wanted a single-mom to be able to make her living there while not sacrificing her goals - making the book real and relatable while keeping the fun and exciting feel of the area. Let me know if we achieved that goal.
This is my first book by Julia Bright and Rylie Roberts and I really enjoyed it.
Zach and Cam Harris are living a life most people could only dream of living. Hollywood movies, babes and party party party. Only Cam wants more, more serious roles and just to be taken more seriously in general. So he decides to clean up his act, only Zach isn't making it easy for him.
Rose Underwood is an waitress just waiting for her shot at fame when the Harris brothers turn her world upside down.
While I enjoyed this book, I think the story could use a little more Omph. Other then that it was a nice quick read and I would totally recommend it.
☆☆☆☆ ~Lynzi I was blown away by Cam and his ways. His morals may have gotten a little shady when he first got to Hollywood, but the fact that his desire for more was stronger than the temptations and privileges of the business, says so much. He was so different than I thought he would be. I expected him to be just like his brother, Zach. Watching his brother stuggle his way through life, was hard for Cam. He's determined to help him see the light. Being in the industry he is, it makes finding someone true and with the wants to have a real relationship, is hard. That's why he needs someone who isn't in the business, yet.
With dreams of being an actress, Rose works to get by, hoping one day she will get her big break. Just like almost every other person in Hollywood. One thing she never expected was for the famous Harris brothers to walk into the diner where she works. Much less for them to sit in her section. What she thinks will be an invite to an amazing beginning, turns out to be the furthest thing she could of thought of. Thank goodness for someone who still has a heart, and believes in a thing called right and wrong. She didn't get the beginning she thought she was getting out of the party, but she definitely got a beginning.
I haven't read many, if not any, actor/Hollywood star books. To me they just seem superficial, because let's face it, it's Hollywood and that equals superficial. It doesn't matter if it's in the real world, or the book world. So I tent to stay away. When I read a book, I want real feels, real emotions, and real connections. Even though I was super surprised, this book gave me that.
Cam and Rose together was like a fresh of breath air after being in a sand storm. They weren't at all what I was expecting, and their connection was amazing.
This story consists of things that can/do happen to stars. Which kept things as real as they could get. With that being said, my hopes are high, and I am so looking forward to reading the next book, Roan.
Cam Harris and his older brother came to California to become famous. Instead, they got a couple of wild college boy roles in movies, and while that's just fine for Cam's brother, Cam wants more. So he gets a new agent, who tells him, he must clean up his act pronto, or he'll become just another washed up actor. Rose Underwood has moved to California to make it big, but instead, she lives in a small apartment with 2 other women, and is a waitress at a diner. So when Cam and his brother come in to eat some burgers, she's flattered as she's invited to a party, so she goes. What she finds is completely different than what she though would be going on, but Cam rescues her, and they spend an innocent night of eating and watching movies. However, a pic of them got out, so now Rose is talked into playing a new role, the role of Cam's girlfriend, so he can get the part. But when they really spend more time together, it becomes apparent that it's not a role anymore for Rose, but does Cam feel the same way? This is the first time that I've read either of these authors, and boy am I glad that I got the opportunity to. Their talented writing styles combined, instantly transported me to Hollywood, and it's secrets, to where I didn't move until the last page was finished. I really enjoyed Rose and Cam together, as their chemistry lit up every time they were near each other, which led to some SMOKIN' HAWT sexy times that I couldn't get enough of. Plus, the colorful cast of secondaries only added to this story, and made for some well placed humorous moments that had me laughing. To finish up this trifecta of awesome were the twists that had me dropping loud f-bombs while reading, as some I guessed, while others not so much. I cannot wait to read more by this talented duo, so I'm HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMENDING Cam to ALL!
Cam has been living the life of the typical playboy party animal, until he decides that this is not what he wants, which are more serious rolls. Rose is a waitress who is invited to one of Cam’s brother’s parties. No spoilers give this series a go you will not be disappointed! This is a quick and sweet read from this dynamic duo of author’s, and I was hooked and intrigued from the very beginning. Look forward to reading more from this collaboration.
This is my first book by these authors and I really enjoyed it.
Cam is living the playboy lifestyle a big hollywood star, woman and parties after parties, but he wants more and decides to clean up his act. Rose is a waitress and meets Cam at one of his parties.
