***Roommates like him should come with a warning.***

From New York Times & USA Today Bestselling Author, Nicole Williams:

Soren Decker. He’s the epitome of the “bad boy, good man” persona. The best of both worlds. The worst of them too. He’s the type of guy most girls wouldn’t mind sharing a confined space with, except my new roommate isn’t all swagger and chiseled abs.

He’s bossy. Messy. Cocky. Infuriating. Doesn’t believe in personal space. Has no qualms about roaming the apartment with a loincloth-sized towel cinched around his waist. Seems under the delusion he’s my personal protector (refer back to infuriating). He plays college baseball and holds down a part-time job—I don’t know where he finds the time to get on my nerves.

We have nothing in common . . . except our attraction to one another. And in six hundred square feet of shared space, the tension only has so much room to grow before one of us gives in to temptation. But really, what chance do a couple of young kids chasing their dreams in the big city have of making it?

Since Soren claims I know squat about sports (he might have a semi-point), here’s a stat for him—one in a million. That’s our odds.

Every nerve inside me stood on end as he appraised me in a way that hinted at the very same things I felt when I looked at him. Possession. Desire. Reverence.

 photo IMG_3124_zpstdmymjux.png

Hayden Hayes is a young woman on the verge of an exciting modeling career. She’s just moved to New York City after having landed a contract with one of the top modeling agencies. Hayden is in for a rude awakening when she comes face to face with the roommate she found through an online add. She was expecting to be rooming in a two-bedroom apartment in Manhattan with another girl but low and behold her roommate is a guy and the apartment is a tiny studio with bamboo dividers set up to create separate sleeping areas. She feels her previous excitement about living in the big city deflating as she realizes she will be sharing a tiny shoebox of an apartment for the next six months with a guy. Even though he happens to be very easy on the eyes Hayden is not very pleased with her current living situation.

At first, she is a pretty abrasive even though Soren seems to be a really easy going person who goes out of his way to help her out. Eventually, her icy demeanor thaws and the two become fast friends, but there’s also a strong attraction they feel for each other. The problem is that Hayden has serious abandonment issues stemming from her father walking out on her family when she was a child. Hayden has never seen what a healthy relationship looks like, so to her, it just seems quite impossible.

When Soren and Hayden finally admit their true feelings to each other and start dating, Hayden’s modeling career starts to take off and she’s having to fly off and stay in Paris weeks at a time while Soren is on the road, traveling to away games with his college baseball team. He’s on the fast track of being recruited by a professional team and has no idea where that will take him. The distance and insecurities start to take its toll on their relationship.

Will they be able to weather the bumpy road that lays ahead of them?

I really love Nicole William’s writing and consider her one of my favorite authors, but this one was just “okay” for me. I think that people who enjoy NA romances might actually like this story.

Soren was a sweetheart. He was the big win for me with the story. Hayden didn't quite understand him at first but as readers we knew where he was headed. He was a total catch right away even with a little jealousy sprinkled in. Hayden, for me, felt more on the immature side. She tended to bring some unnecessary drama that didn't add value to the story nor did it endear her to me. Eventually she started catching up but didn't completely win me over.

The plot was ok. Just two people who would normally head in opposite paths brought together by circumstance. The intimacy was good, albeit on the slower side of the spectrum, which is a nice break from more intense stories. The writing and pacing solid. All in all a decent read. No safety concerns even though there were some silly jealousies going on.

“Roommates like him should come with a warning."

Roommates with Benefits was a HIGHLY ANTICIPATED READ for me. It’s no secret that I am a HUGE Nicole Williams fan and when I found out she was releasing another new book I was all in, especially considering I am still suffering from a massive hangover from reading Tortured recently. If you’re a fan of entertaining, light-hearted reads with hilarious witty banter and bucket loads of sexual chemistry; involving a sassy, smart mouth heroine and a swoon worthy, sexy as sin hero then definitely one click this.

Nicole Williams poses a question… What chance do a couple of young kids chasing their dreams in the big city have of making it? ONE IN A MILLION?

Hayden Hayes has moved to the bright lights of New York City from the small town of Hastings, Nebraska, to chase her dreams of becoming the next top model. She’s arrived with no more than a suitcase, a sleeping bag, a pillow and the clothes on her back. With no money and no jobs booked as yet, her choices are very limited.

Prior to arriving in New York, Hayden had answered a roommate wanted ad, but when she arrives at said apartment, it and her new roommate are not at all what she expected. She has no other options then to take her new roomie up on the offer to move in to the six hundred square foot dingy apartment.

NOW… If you are looking for a hero to get your blood pumping then look no further than Soren Decker, he will seriously make you swoon. Soren is playing college baseball and has dreams of one day making it as a professional ball player.

Soren was the perfect hero for me; he was really sweet with a heart of gold, a complete smart ass, cocky and protective in all his alpha glory. Right off the bat (excuse the pun), there is nothing he would not do for his new roomie Hayden, except tidy up after himself. But lets face it, boys are slobs. In his defence though, he does go to school, occasionally study, play ball and work part-time so the little time he does have on his hands, he chooses not to clean.

I loved this couple; they just worked really well together and were a match made in heaven. Their attraction and intense chemistry had me flipping the pages faster than I was reading. There are some hard times and hurdles Hayden and Soren have to try to overcome together; throughout it, I found myself rooting for them to work because they were just meant to be. The odds may be stacked against them, but with love on their side I hoped that would be enough for them to prevail.

Roommates with Benefits was such a great, well written, easy-going read with characters I adored from the get go, especially Soren… SIGH! This book has the typical chemistry and pizzazz I love to read and I strenuously suggest you check it out. I always look forward to a new Nicole Williams book and I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next.

So very annoying for me!

I must unfortunately say that I disliked this book to a great extent. There is only one good thing in it, which is the “too good to be true” hero: SOREN.... And nothing else (oh, and the gorgeous cover!)

The retarded heroine Hayden, who cannot appreciate the awesome guy in front of her acts so annoyingly that I wanted to meet her in person to say how inappreciative a b*tch she is.

The plot line is simple and sometimes too slow and boring. It is told by 1st person point of view (and it is unfortunately from Hayden's point of view!)

Here is what you get if you read this book.

- A heroine who has daddy issues as her father left her mother, sisters and her. She cannot trust that a man would stay with her. She believes that everyone leaves!

- Soren is the best possible guy a girl could have. No flaws at all. But Hayden lets her fear of losing the guy she loves be the very reason she loses him. So pathetic!

How they meet

Hayden comes to New York from Nebraska to be a model and Soren plays baseball at college and it is what he plans to do as a job later.

They are so very young, at the beginning of their lives, planning their future careers.

For whatever dumb reason I don't get, Hayden ends up in New York on her heels, carrying a suitcase and she has no money for the cab that will take her to her new apartment, where she thinks she will have a female roommate. A misunderstanding of the ad!

There she finds a gorgeous guy, and seeing he is one of the nice & good ones, she decides to stay there (also, she has no other choice as she is penniless!)

The very slow pace of their relationship

Hayden and Soren start as friends and very slowly, they become lovers... (very very slowly).

This slow process mostly depends on Hayden, who believes Soren sees her as a little sister (she is clueless... such a pathetic girl) but Soren is slow, too as he shows that he cares for her but he doesn't confess his feelings for her for a long time.

More of Hayden's annoying side

Hayden finds an agent twice her age who seems to be trying to get into her pants but she refuses to see it. She is so dumb! She explains his every creepy behavior as something any agent would do.

Soren warns her about it but she doesn’t listen to his advice. She even lets her agent take her nude photos to use in applications for jobs. And she lets him do it when they are alone with no other working stuff, such as the photographer!!!!

She decides to leave the place only when she sees his boner! Wise call, clever girl! I didn't expect it from an idiot like you...

Soren is the best boyfriend possible. He doesn't know that she posed nude. She never mentions about it or asks about his opinion.

Soren always tries to be the supportive and protective guy who cares and she does all the pathetic things that make you want to break your tablet or kindle!

Then, she is accepted for a job in Europe and her nude photos appear in magazines advertising some accessories and even then, Soren acts as the decent guy who tries to understand how important this modelling career for her is although he doesn't like other people seeing his girl nude.

I absolutely hated Hayden for everything she did and everything she didn’t do.

No safe sex

The book also had no safe sex. They never talked about protection or used it. No talk of pills or condoms at all.

It was as if sex didn't cause any illnesses or unwanted pregnancy in their universe!

Everything was either bad or worse or unbearable for me...

Here are a few examples:

She is 19, he is 20,

and they are roommates...

You know, people who share the same house...

And in their case, they share the same room as there is only one room!

And....

Wait...

Wait wait...

Ok, I am telling...

Their first sex

happens

when they first visit

Soren’s parents and

stay the night there.

Yeap, so romantic and clever!

(I really wonder what the writer was thinking, plotting it like this?)

And wait wait...

It was her first

and we only understand it

when she mentions about it casually afterwards.

Wait wait...

It was also Soren’s first.

Yeap...

This insanely hot baseball player says he was waiting for the right girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Right one my a**! (sorry!)

Are you retarded, too?

How does she look as the right one to you, saying she likes you and wants you one day and staying at a hotel, not answering your calls because she fears what will happen in the end, another day?

Is this the girl you were dreaming about and waiting for?

Oh, Soren, poor guy, you are so naive or what!?

(P.S. Virgin heroes are NOT sexy - at least not for me - and after this revelation, Soren loses all his charm for me)

Whatever... If you ask me, look at the gorgeous cover model and then, give it a pass! Look how frustrated it has made me. I have been cursing all along my reading process and it is reflected in my review, as well...

And this is definitely my last novel from this writer as we don't seem to be on the same wavelength :(

I am pretty sure most of you know my love for all-things Nicole Williams. I got extremely excited when she announced Roommates with Benefits because it just sounded so good to me. And it was! This novel was definitely good, funny, emotional and oh-so-sexy!

Roommates with Benefits is a standalone novel that tells the story between two young people who are fighting to follow their dreams and who happen to be rommates (with lots of chemistry between them!). Soren and Hayden could not stop those sparks since the first moment they layed eyes on each other.

Of course my roommate would be one of the few people on the planet who was capable of getting under my skin. Who better to share a six-hundred-square-foot space with than someone who couldn’t look at me without triggering mild irritation?

Let's just start this by stating what was the best part for me about this book: Soren Decker. I cannot get over him! This hero is hilarious, mysterious, smoking hot and an all-feels kind of guy (my favorite kind! lol). You will fall in love with him on the first pages, ladies. And who complains when this is mixed with a couple with amazing chemistry? Not me!

My need or want or whatever this was for the man holding me was so all-consuming, it felt as though it could devour me whole.

“I’m a man. I know what I want. And I’m going to get it.”

What I loved about Roommates with Benefits is that while it is very funny it also got pretty emotional. I loved Soren even more because of how strong his feelings are for Hayden. However, there was just one aspect that stopped me from giving this read a 5-star rating: the heroine's behavior. I get the fear Hayden has but I felt she was too weak sometimes. Also, I always miss having an epilogue! Besides this, I really enjoyed the book!

“Hayden Agatha Hayes,” he said all solemn-like, his gaze intense, “will you be my roommate?”

Therefore, my rating for Roommates with Benefits is 4 STARS because it was a really entertaining story with a fantastic hero and a couple who gave us lots of hilarious and sexy moments! I can't wait to see what is next (as always!). Nicole Williams is definitely becoming one of my go-to authors!

Roommates with Benefits was a GOOD read. I enjoyed the hero, Soren, so much. He was just a GOOD guy, and he was a fun guy. I also enjoyed the heroine, Hayden. Both characters had dreams and goals, and that was part of their focus not just their relationship. Even though I enjoyed their relationship as well. The angst is pretty low. It’s more one of the characters has some hang ups stemming from their past, and that gets in their way a bit.

All in all a good read.

🟥EDIT- Yes i deleted my previous review of 5 stars. This is first time that in the history of GR I am erasing a 5 star review and labelling it as 'Unbearable.'

🙂I can't believe I ACTUALLY liked this book last year....or was it last to last year? I dont remember honestly.

🏈💃SOREN DECKER AND HAYDEN HAYES.(19 and 19)

🔹Unlike the first time(when I literally couldnt stop boasting about this book), this time this book made me want to bash my head against the wall.

(Excuse my frustration as I ramble about this book i promise to end this review with positivity)

🔹Im seeing this pattern in NW's books, where both the character have TOO FUCKING LONG of inner monologue.

🔹Like bro, okay, i dont need to know a 100 times that she is a Nebraska girl and he comes from a large family. I dont have short term memory loss. HAVE FAITH IN ME.

🔹Also, throughout the book, they are CONSTANTLY fighting with each other. Constantly misunderstanding each other.

🔹They fight for 4 pages about cleaning the partment. She tells him to do it, he says no, and then back and forth they go. When he finally does all the cleaning except the kitchen she gets mad. He tells her that he cleaned her hair from the bathroom that were stuck in the pipeline(gross) so the least she can do is clean the kitchen since she is using the bowls and plates too.

🔹She has the audacity to yell PATRIARCHY!!! at him. Got me triggered I swear.

🔹The Hero is really fucking nice to her. On her first day when she moves to NYC, he gives her 20 dollars (she didnt ask but he's kind) so she can get by for a few days. He drops her off at work so she dosent get lost. He cooks for her practically everyday. Protects her from idiots on the subway.

🔹The one VERY EXTREMELY good thing about this book was the Hero. I mean..... even though she is a hot-head 90% of the book, he never looses his cool. Even when he argues he tries to remain playful. He is very messy and the king of unclean, which I hated a lil bit but after afew times, he does start cleaning after Hayden yells enough at him (i lv her for this).

🔹But at no point in the book, he acts entitled or jerk or even a lil bit of assholish. He sure is very much reckless with his diet and his management of general things like toiletries and clothes and shit. But he improves once he falls for Hayden.

🔹Hayden meanwhile, I dont really think she went through any kind of character Arc. She is angry all the time because she cant properly naviagate NYC and is running around from agency to agency.

🔹Her first reaction to anything that Soren does that she dosent like is anger and then she argues. She gets triggered easily by his mistakes and short comings.

🔹Now, Im not saying she is completely bad. She is actually very nice. She is a sort-of modle, but she isint uptight or snarky. She is sweet, knows her place in the industry and conduts herself very nicely with her co-workers.

🔹EXCEPT when she's with Soren.

🔹Now, she does bring out his good side, Soren is VERY immature in the beginning, the way he lives, its like a dumb fratboy. But Hayden upgrades him so much. She loves his wittiness.

😑I feel like in this book the hero had more colorful personality than hayden.

🟩Dual virgins. (suprise suprise)
🟩The cover- 💗😩
🟥BEWARE- They dont even kiss till 1/4 th book is complete. U get the idea that SHE'S attracted to him in her piov , but in HIS pov, for a long time he dosent even mention that he's attracted to her.
🟩No-cheating.
🟩Not any major OW/OM drama.
🟩Only Attempted SA on h but she runs away so she is saved.
🟩No-cheating.
🟩HEA.
🟩Epilogue-Engaged.

An endearing and utterly charming NA romance!

Roommates with Benefits was the perfect book I needed to read to help me out of my book funk! Sweet and engaging, this book completely captivated me from the very beginning. The story unfolds brilliantly, taking me on the journey of two young adults striving for their dreams while navigating newly discovered feelings and emotions for each other.

I loved this book! But I will admit, the title is what originally caught my attention. And I was further motivated when I read the synopsis. And this was all before seeing the cover. My goodness, Ms. Williams sure knows how to entice her readers! But once I started reading, all those earlier teases of the book fell away, and I was absolutely blown away by the story!

Hard work, ambitions, emotional entanglements, this book has it all. The story had me laughing out loud at the silly antics, swooning over Soren and his charisma, and burning up with the undeniable sexual tension and yearning. Not only did it get my heart racing from the passion shared between Soren and Hayden, but it also broke over the obstacles they each endured just trying to make their relationship work. It made me think that maybe love isn't all you need. It takes trust and faith...but they both start to lose hope when outside forces try to influence their minds against what their hearts know is true.

Roommates with Benefits is an exceptional must read! Remarkably written, this book exudes everything young love is about. Strangers to friends to lovers, this story is the epitome of a NA romance! Definite 5 stars!

Sexy, yummy, fun, beautiful. Oh! You thought I was talking about the book? Well, the book is all that, too. But mostly Soren. He is all this and more. Aaaw, if I was a few years younger and he was real ... I think we would be a perfect match.

There's been a long time I didn't read something by Nicole Williams and it was good to return with a book as good as this. I enjoyed how the author led the story. When we read about people who live together and have that sexual tension we already predict how the story will roll. I liked that Nicole ran away from the basics a bit, and gave the story a fresh direction. I couldn't put it down and I was smiling and hoping that everything would work out.

The book tells the story of Hayden Hayes and Soren Decker, with the age of 19 and 20 years respectively, trying to find their way. These two so young already knew what they wanted out of life and ran after their dreams. They were so determined and stubborn that all that fire was about to burn. I love books where the characters pick on each other, getting on each other's nerves but can't stay away from one another.

I enjoyed that it was something gradual. I loved Soren! So much!!! He was fun and charming. And even with all the tension between him and Hayden I loved how protective he was ... without being weird. It was a nice friendship to see and an evolution from it to love even more beautiful. The personality of Soren and Hayden were very remarkable. Although yet too young, for many daily situations, they were very mature.

There was only one moment in the book that, to me, was a little unreal, but it's nothing to spoil the story. Nicole's writing is great and had the right dose of comedy and romance to break the drama a little. ROOMMATES WITH BENEFITS is much more than the blurb made us believe, a little different from what we expect, but for the better. There's no way you can not fall in love with Soren, guys! I highly recommend it!

Sexy, gostoso, divertido, lindo. Oh!

Recomendo demais!

There is something so exhilarating about diving into a Nicole Williams' romance. I just know that I'm going to go on the emotional ride of my life with her storylines. Everything she releases is PURE GOLD and her latest release, ROOMMATES WITH BENEFITS is no different. I just LOVED it...the characters...the connection and chemistry...the emotional aspect (both heavy and light) was so brilliantly done. From the second Soren and Hayden met, I knew I was a complete goner for these two!

"You're trying to seduce me with your body, but I already told you. It's going to take a lot more than that to break me."

"Counting on it."

This was a slow burn to end all slow burns. I was on the edge of my seat waiting for these two to get it together and recognize the insane chemistry between them. They went from not a great first meeting to becoming roommates, then becoming friends, then finally FIREWORKS!!! Soren and Hayden's story had Ms. Williams' typical passion and emotional intensity, but it also had some comedic breaks and lighthearted moments that made me swoon all over the place. This was just an all-around GREAT read, with GREAT characters, and a storyline that wouldn't let me look away. If you haven't picked up a Nicole Williams' romance yet, ROOMMATES WITH BENEFITS would be the PERFECT one to get you started. It has it all, including her standard impeccable writing. Be prepared to become addicted to her brand, and be prepared to devour this in one sitting, because I highly doubt that you will be able to set it down, even for a second.

#teamsoren but where is my freaking epilogue!?

3.5 stars- would have been 5 if it ended better!

This book....there was so much I loved and a few things that made grumpy.

On the top of the list of things I love would be Soren - the amazing hero. He was sweet, hot and so dang funny. I found myself lol-ing on more than one occasion from things that came out of his mouth. Stubborn, sometimes immature (he's 20 so I cut him some slack), protective and he loved his family. His actions toward Hayden was loving and protective.

Hayden- I wanted to shake her on more than one occasion. She had abandonment issues because her father deserted the family so she never had relationships before. She mistook Soren's protective nature as him thinking she was naive or like a little sister. She pushed him away entirely too much for me.

-no cheating
-ow/om drama - and over zealous agent tried to make waves and a team trainer sparked jealous in Hayden but neither were with others after meeting. (Even during their separation - it wasn't stated but I feel confident that neither were with others because they still loved each other)
-too much pushing away by the heroine
-not very steamy- just a few steamy parts
-no epilogue- this book definitely needed an epilogue. Between the pushing away and the angsty period during the end, I felt cheated and disappointed in the ending. Did they get their happily ever after? Did he get to the majors? Did they stay together? Have a family? Too much unanswered

I loved the funny banter between these two. I loved how Soren was a good guy who helped out old ladies and loved his mom. There was a lot to enjoy.

I feel like I've been on a journey with this book, from instantly liking Soren and seeing something special immediately, whilst thinking Hayden was a little judgemental, moving to being utterly frustrated with Hayden and the events that arose. I have to say all in all I'm satisfied with where this went, where it ended and that it finished with endless possibilities (that is not a spoiler!).

ROOMMATES WITH BENEFITS is a book of firsts; first love, first relationships and I found it insanely sweet to read. It's a story of rookie model meets baseball player aiming for the draft. There was something old-gentleman and noble about Soren and I fell for his charms, the little things he did for people and his physical description sure didn't hurt. The cover of the book totally fell into place for me. I found the whole room-share situation kind of hilarious with a slice of unbelievable.

Hayden was undeserving of the Soren goodness on the whole but I do believe there was character growth towards the end. The final part of the book did have a bit of a rushed feel, or maybe I just wanted it stretched out a bit more in that phase. I just really enjoyed the sweetness, fun and loveliness of this read. The chemistry was perfect and when these two connected it was steam central. I recommend this as a light, fun and hot read with a little sports romance feel to it.

I love Nicole Williams men! There is something she gives each one of them that make readers swoon and fall in love with them and Soren was just WOW 😍
Soren and Hayden are big dreamers...they find themselves as roommates in NYC sharing a studio apartment as each are following their lifelong dreams - for him it's baseball and for her it's fashion modeling.
I enjoyed their bantering, their obvious chemistry but even more than that I loved Soren's protectiveness and care for Hayden and then watching Hayden finally realizing how much Soren means to her too.
Unfortunately there were some things that didn't work for me—namely some immature moments though I guess being 19 you will still get those moments and how I don't love drama for the sake of drama and how communication is just SO important. Talking things out could have saved a lot of conflict. I also didn't love that there was no more said about Ellis though I wish he had his ass handed to him :(
Overall though, this author's writing continues to be amazing and I will read everything and anything she writes. This one didn't work for me as many of her others have but I still enjoyed this sweet story of young love in the city while following your hopes and dreams <3

This one was definitely on the fun and light side of the Nicole Williams scale. We follow new roommates Hayden and Soren as they try to make all their dreams come true in the Big Apple.

Soren was adorable, I totally fell in love with him while reading this. From the very beginning of the story he's sweet and considerate toward Hayden and he continues to be sweet throughout the story.

Hayden was likeable for the most part but she was not as easy going as Soren, and she definitely brought more baggage to the relationship.

This book was enjoyable. It was sweet, light and funny with fairly minimal angst and drama. I didn't particularly care for the drama that happened toward the end of the book, or the aftermath of it.

4 The Best Roommate CROWNS

This was an unexpected read for me. Based on the synopsis and the title, I expected a much steamier read. I, however, was surprised by this sweet, slow burning romance between two young adults chasing their dreams in the big city, and, while this wasn’t what I expected going into the book, I still enjoyed the journey.

Part of the innocence of this story stems from the innocence of the characters. Both Seron and Hyden are starry-eyed in the pursuit of their large, big city dreams. He has more experience in the city, as she is a small town girl, but as soon as they start rooming together their bond begins to form. Through the friendship, readers get to see Seron as more than just a man pursuing his dreams. They get to see a man who was raised right, making him a gentleman in the best ways. Although he has the gentleman part down pat, he is still young and can be immature, but that becomes part of his charm. His protective nature certainly flares around his roommate, and she, at times, need it, as she certainly has the naïve small town girl quality to her character. She at times is very defensive and protective of her own heart, making her part in the romance often frustrating, leaving the reader to feel how Soren often feels when fighting with her. These two, though, build a real relationship, and it is clear from the very beginning that this is more than lust for both of them.

This story is a slow burn. A good portion of the story is spent on them being roommates and then friends. There is a lot of back and forth due to character fears and pasts, but it does all come together eventually. While the pay-off is there for the reader, there is an aspect of their first time together that can be interpreted as unlikely (this is vague, but I don’t want to give it away). Moving past this first experience together, the chemistry between the two continues to flourish in all ways, emotional and physical. The ending is perfect, and Soren, as he did through must of the book, said the most perfect things.

Roommates with Benefits by Nicole Williams is another sweet, slow-burning, and sexy read. The characters are great, especially Soren, and the friendship between the two shines from page one.

Roommates with Benefits by Nicole Williams
4 stars!!!

“My fear was bigger than my faith.”

I love the writing style of Nicole Williams, she never fails to deliver a well written and engaging storyline and Roomates with Benefits was no different. For me, this was a cross between a rom com and a traditional contemporary romance, there were those laugh out loud moments, mainly at the hands of Soren and then there was the angsty, swoony moments that perfectly balanced this novel. This was a one sitting read for me, from start to finish Soren held me at his mercy and while the heroine takes a little warming up to, by the end I had Hayden’s bag.

“My fear of being abandoned had driven him away before he could leave of his own choice.”

Hayden was a small-town girl, making her move to the big city to break out into the world of modelling. Having landed the top agent, her stars were finally aligned and though this was a huge move for her, she wasn’t very well prepared. In all honesty, I felt Hayden was a little naïve, she was incredibly cute, but sometimes, the naiveite was a little irritating, because seriously, can anyone really be that blind? However, Hayden saw the best in everyone, thought everyone was out to help everyone with no agenda and tried her damnedest to fit in and regroup. Yes, it was a task, but she does eventually get there, all thanks to Soren’s help and wise words.

“Soren and I were roommates. We had to live together. How was confessing feelings for one another and letting those feelings physically manifest going to make this arrangement any easier? Being in a relationship was hard enough at our age. Sharing an apartment was just as hard. But combining those two challenges and expecting everything to come out okay? Yeah, right. World peace had a better chance of making it.”

Soren was seriously adorable, from his very first scene this man charmed his way into my heart as well as Hayden’s he was the epitome of the cheeky chappie, but he had a heart of gold. Soren worked his socks off, he studied, he worked and he played ball. He was the perfect roommate being that he was hardly ever there. From the moment he met Hayden, he knew she was a fish out of water and so the protective and caring side of him shone through.

“…Stay, and I’ll wait. Or run, and I’ll follow. Either way, you’re not getting rid of me. Accept that, so you can rework this plan you’ve been using to try to push me away.”

These two had many laugh out loud moments but the thing I cherished the most was the gradual slow burn romance that Nicole Williams elicited with every word. This was like an instant hate, to a mild dislike, to a friend, to best friends and to more. But each step of their relationship felt natural and organic, nothing felt forced, it just felt right. The dialogue was on point, their friendship was faultless and once the family gets involved…the laughs just keep on coming.

“You didn’t like me trying to seduce you with my body. Let’s see how you fare against my mind.”

Soren’s family really helped make this book, I adore them and would love to be a part of them. It is testament to this family that Soren turned out into such an upstanding guy in the first place, and given his brothers, Hayden got the best of the litter.

“That’s the way a real man worships his woman.”

Yes, there were some parts of this book that I felt were not needed, some made me feel a little uncomfortable but given the read as a whole, there was not much to dislike. I did feel that Hayden’s meteoric rise to modelling fame was maybe a little stretched and one or two other things, but who cares, it made for good reading. It is fiction and sometimes we do have to suspend logic and plausibility at times. But, I loved the chemistry, I loved our cheeky chappie, he was just one of those guys that stole every scene and you wanted to hug, he was seriously that endearing, not your typical college sports star. One other character I wanted to seriously dismember, but hey ho, it all added to the drama. Overall, really enjoyed this book and would recommend.

“I love you too much to lose you over something so little.”

3.5 to 4 stars
Hayden Hayes is a small town Nebraska girl moving to the big city of New York to follow her fashion dreams. When she shows up at her new apartment, all is not what she envisioned including the young man who apparently is her roommate in 600 square feet of not-so-fabulous real estate. Soren Decker plays baseball in college and has a job. He looks like a bad boy and has an answer for everything. She is naive about city ways and he is a more seasoned city boy.

She's a control and neat freak. He is a busy guy who is a slob and lets it all hang out. He has no boundaries or filter, and can be immature. They rile each other up and cause frustration. But they also have some fun banter and start to build a rapport, friendship, and support system. Both have a tendency to act jealous and childish. They do not communicate effectively. There is a simmering attraction between them that neither want to be the first to admit. She is afraid of relationships due to abandonment and trust issues. He can be protective, sweet, and is willing to wait for her to truly let him in. He wants her heart and not just her body.

But even as they begin to explore what more could mean, they are young and their lives are chaotic and involve travel. Their careers, distance, and circumstances make their "first love" story complicated and difficult. She had a tendency to push him away when she gets scared and causes quick reactions in him. She is the cynic of relationships while he is the romantic.

They are both trying to follow their career dreams, but will those ultimately rip them apart? Will fear win or will they find faith in their relationship?

I guess I am not used to reading NA books about nineteen or twenty year olds much anymore. So at times they both seemed immature, but I would have to tell myself that they are young and going through drastic changes. I liked Soren. I loved that he seemed like the cocky, obnoxious, bad boy, but was really caring, loving, and different than I expected. He really tried hard to please her and was so protective. Hayden got on my nerves sometimes. She made some questionable choices and could really overreact. She was determined not to get left or hurt so was good at avoiding or pushing him away. I felt bad for him at times.

I loved his family and crazy brothers Ben, Michael, and Tobin. I could see them showing up again in more books. There were a couple of things that I thought could have been fleshed out a bit more or that bugged me. But, overall it was a fun, sweet story of first love and two young people trying to find their way in the world.

4.5 swoon-worthy stars.

Just when my BBF shelf was getting dusty along comes Soren Decker.

A sweet story and a pleasant unexpected surprise. Roommates with benefits wasn't what I expected and wasn't like previous books I've read in this type of room mate category.

19 year old Hayden Hayes is about to embark on a new journey pursuing her modelling career the first chapters introduce Hayden meeting her room-mate for the first time who she thought was a girl and then preparing to meet her agent for interviews and basically settling in.

Soren is Hayden's room-mate he's smart, funny, charming, a student and an up and coming baseball star.

Both have big career goals and become good friends supporting each other.

Soren is an old fashioned kind of guy chivalrous, sweet, charming and hot.

I loved their story and the romance that develops between two people who are made for each other.

A perfect Sunday read to relax with.

No heavy drama or angst told in Hayden's pov.

I would of liked closure on the lab partner/water girl who was always present around Soren who Hayden got jealous of, an explanation regarding one of the scenes but apart from that it was a good read deserving of 4.5 stars.

Hayden:
Soren Decker was one fine looking man but my soul craved him more than my body did.

I have read a few Nicole Williams books in the past and really enjoyed them, so when the opportunity to read and review Roommates With Benefits for the blog tour showed up, I grabbed it up as quick as I could. The blurb had me all excited to read this one and then add in the hot as hell book cover and I was sunk. Like I mentioned earlier it had been a while since I had read a book by this author and this book was just what I needed to get me out of the reading funk I have been in over the last several weeks. Williams writing style is awesome, she knows just how to draw the reader in and I connected with the characters from the very beginning. She writes an awesome, sexy, funny, story that had me reading it all in one sitting.

Hayden Hayes has just landed in New York, ready to start her modeling career and new life. Growing up in Nebraska was and is so different from the streets of NYC. Finding out that her new apartment and roommate are no where near what she expected has her almost heading for the hills. For starters, how they call this place an apartment is beyond her, it is the size of a bedroom and two people are supposed to live in it. And Soren Decker, her new roommate has her questioning what the hell she has gotten herself into. The sexy, baseball playing bad boy makes her weak in the knees and she has to live with him!

Soren drives Hayden crazy! He has no problem with walking around in next to nothing. He is always in Hayden's personal space. He works hard for what he wants and what he has in life. When he isn't on the ball field or working he is trying to keep Hayden safe, something that drives her mad. She has moved to the city to pursue her dream and she wants to learn and grow on her own, not with some lug of a baseball player watching her every move.

I loved the crazy banter between these two and the chemistry was hot, hot, hot! The sexual tension that radiated off the both of them could be cut with a knife. What starts out as roomies, becomes something more, but can they learn to get past their trust issues and find a way to make a relationship work or are they doomed from the very start?

Seriously, go grab your copy of Roommates With Benefits and get sucked into this sweet, sexy, romantic, funny story and loose yourself in Soren.

Roommates with Benefits by Nicole Williams is a highly anticipated book by this author and I have to say, it was well worth the wait. It is full of a plethora of emotions that involve this sexy hero and a sassy heroine—imagine LOADS of sexual tension and chemistry along with witty banter and you have an insta -HIT!!
Hayden Hayes has moved to the bright lights of New York City from the small town of Hastings, Nebraska to become the next top model. Only thing is, when she got to NYC, She’s arrived with only her suitcase, no money, the clothes on her back , no jobs lined up and a sleeping bag. Before she left Nebraska, she had answered a roommate wanted ad but when she got to town, the apartment wasn’t what she expected and her new roommate is NOT who she expected. Yet she has no choice but to stick it out with the new roommate .
Soren Decker is one hot hero roommate. He is one sexy, hot, hunky college baseball player who has dreams of going pro. He is a definite good guy and really an alpha male. He sees something good in Hayden and he immediately wants to protect her, to save her and he immediately starts in on wanting to protect her on top of studying, playing ball and working. He is a really good guy and he knows there is something good and something that is there between him and Hayden.
There are some twists and turns in their roommates to lovers story-some angst, some intense chemistry that had me on the edge of my couch – had me wondering would they or wouldn’t they. I totally was in it for them to stay together because they made sense, they were perfect together.
The only thing is I would have loved a epilogue showing how everything between these characters ended up. Otherwise what an awesome love story.
