Luke Skywalker was the ultimate hero of the coming from humble beginnings, he learned the shocking truth about his family history, learned to master the Force, defeated the Sith, and led the Rebellion to victory over the First Galactic Empire. He did what his father Anakin could he resisted the lure of the Dark Side and the temptation to give in to his own desires, and became the honorable paladin who kept the spirit of the Jedi alive and led them into a new, post-Imperial age.
That's not to say that it was an easy road, of course. Luke's resolve to stick to his principles was tested many times over the course of his journey, and while he stood firm in the face of adversity, the fates of both the Rebellion and the Jedi could have gone up in smoke like the Death Star is Luke wasn't up to the task. This book looks at eight major turning points when he could have dropped the ball, dooming everyone he cared about to certain death in the process.
