Naruto’s rival, cuter than you’ve ever seen him before!
Uchiha Sasuke, the brooding loner who will do anything to avenge his clan and kill his older brother… Yes, this is his story, but with a hilarious twist! In Naruto: Chibi Sasuke’s Sharingan Legend, the characters and story have been flipped on their heads, all for the sake of comedy! With his Taka teammates Suigetsu, Karin and Jugo, Sasuke travels the land and gets into all kinds of wacky adventures. This is a side of Sasuke you’ve never seen before. One bit of advice: do not mock the Uchiha!
Masashi Kishimoto (岸本斉史 Kishimoto Masashi) is a Japanese manga artist, well known for creating the manga series Naruto. His younger twin brother, Seishi Kishimoto, is also a manga artist and creator of the manga series O-Parts Hunter (666 Satan) and Blazer Drive. Two of his former assistants, Osamu Kajisa (Tattoo Hearts) and Yuuichi Itakura (Hand's), have also gone on to moderate success following their work on Naruto.
Kishimoto's first work as a manga artist was Karakuri (カラクリ?), which he submitted to Shueisha in 1995. This earned him the Weekly Shōnen Jump's monthly "Hop Step Award" in 1996, granted to promising new manga artists. This was followed in 1997 by a pilot version of Naruto (NARUTO-ナルト-), published in Akamaru Jump Summer. In 1998, Kishimoto premiered as a Weekly Shōnen Jump artist with a serialized version of Karakuri in Weekly Shōnen Jump, but it proved unpopular and was canceled soon after. In 1999, a serialized version of Naruto began publication in Weekly Shōnen Jump and quickly became a hit.
The idea that the Akatsuki are just a group of friends celebrating every holiday together, while plotting for world domination is simply the best! Sasuke and Itachi in chibi form are the best thing to ever happen to me hahaha
3 stars as a whole. Got a kick out of it because of my love for the characters in Naruto.
Some of the humor was too kiddy and kinda weird. The beginning chapters were not that interesting, made me put the manga down and not pick it up again for months. The last chunk was dull, Boruto-centric.
But the middle chapters with the Akatsuki and the genderbending stuff were so much fun. These alone made it worth the read 🥰 5 stars.
These Chibi adventures of Sasuke are a mixed bag for me. The humor varies from funny to dry dad jokes...but the art is never ever in question. The stories are fun, and I especially love that the Akatsuki hang out together just doing random stuff...that for me was the best! The poop and private part jokes are funny at times but sometime make me mentally cringe! But this is a good addition to the Naruto universe...these side books only further the love for the long-standing series.
Well.
I'm so glad that this came out much earlier in my country. I just love reading about Sasuke and his adventures. His path of revenge. But in a much more childish way with so much fun. Looking forward to the next volume.
In my quest to finish all the Naruto manga on the SJ app I seem to be scraping the bottom of the barrel here. There are a few chuckles but it’s just team taka acting weird & goofy & at first the novelty made it okay. But after two volumes it’s just boring.
As expected of a gag manga spinoff, most of this series is randomness and jokes (some good, some not so much). Overall, kinda bland. But I found the chapter about Hidan's... uh... mishap HILARIOUS.
Only issue I have with this is that I want more?!?! I laughed a lot. Sasuke is honestly one of my favorite Naruto characters (besides Sakura) and this little “spin off” just cracks me up.
