Bath time is fun! fun! fun! in this playful board book!
Today we had such fun! fun! fun!
But now the day is done! done! done!
After a fun-filled day, it's time to go home and take a bath! From washing tiny toes and your little nose to making rubber ducky go quack! quack! quack!, bath time is fun! fun! fun!
The rhyming text makes this the perfect read-along story to get little ones excited for bath time.
3.5 stars. The text is okay, but I am absolutely in love with the pictures of these dirty little heathen children. They look like they have been up to filthy mischief all day and I am totally on board.
Fun read aloud for storytime. Used with ages 0-3 along with a maraca to emphasize the repetition in the text. That really caught the kiddos attention and they loved it. We also pointed out our body parts as we read about them in the story.
First sentence: Today we had such fun! fun! fun! But now the day is done! done! done! You're so full of dirt! dirt! dirt! Take off your pants and shirt! shirt! shirt!
Premise/plot: Who's ready for BATH TIME?!
My thoughts: I really enjoyed this one. I wish my library had Douglas Florian's Play! Play! Play! I'd love to compare these two. If the children in Bath! Bath! Bath! are the same children in Play! Play! Play! I bet they play hard. These kids are happy and filthy--absolutely filthy. The good news is that bath time is an extension of play time as far as they are concerned. Baths are FUN.
We recently read the similar book, Play! Play! Play! by the same author and I was delighted to see more offerings from him - especially this one about taking a bath! My toddler absolutely loves his tubby time so I really enjoyed reading him this whimsical book about bath time. The rhymes and rhythm are very upbeat and playful and make this a really fun book to share! We checked this out from the library but I definitely want to get a copy for our own!
This book was first passed down to Lexie by my husband’s cousin. I’m very grateful to them because I would have never heard of this book otherwise! Lexie has loved this since she was 1 year old. When she got a little older, she would repeat the words after me. This series is definitely still one of her favourites. Have since purchased Play Play Play and Brush Brush Brush, and intend to buy Bath Bath Bath too!
I loooooove bath time! And now it’s even better when mama reads this book beforehand. She thinks the book is perfect too but giggles after the duck goes quack quack quack! And clean your arms and back back back! She needs to work on her “b” pronunciation, sounds more like a, “cr”… - Maren, 4 months
I adore this book! The cute diverse toddlers have gotten dirty and now it is bath time. Each page has a word repeated three times like "dirt, dirt, dirt" that should help hold the interest of little ones. A great choice for Baby Storytimes.
It's time to wash off all the grime of the day in this celebration of a nightly (or *ahem* bi-nightly) routine. Lots of sibling pairs are helping each other take a bath but no adults are shown.
Like its cousin, Brush, Brush, Brush, this is a fun and educational book about the process of taking a bath. The illustrations are whimsical, the rhymes are good, and the real star is the repetition: three times in a row for key words. Will really help the concepts stick for little ones.
Really cute - reads like a chant with the last word of each line repeated thrice. The kids in the pictures are expressive and fun (and diverse); the illustrations convey a lot of energy.
This book would be a great one for a baby or toddler storytime about bathtime. I could see families using this to lead into bathtime too. The rhyming text that repeats begs to be put to a tune.
