Reinvention strategist Marshawn Evans Daniels delivers a practical and inspirational guide for women ready to reclaim their lives and discover a higher purpose after experiencing regret and disappointment—demonstrating that through disruption, life can become sweeter than ever imagined.
Marshawn thought she was on the right path. She was an accomplished business woman and high-powered sports attorney ready to marry the man of her dreams—until she learned just days before a fairytale wedding that he was cheating on her. After betrayal flipped her seemingly perfect world upside down, she found herself craving significance, not just success.
Believe Bigger is about resilience, reclaiming your life, and how God uses rejection, hardship, and unexpected circumstances to awaken something greater within...if you’re willing to embrace disruption. You'll see her go from heartbroken and hitting rock bottom financially, to building a multi-million dollar faith-centered enterprise, and finding something super sweet along the way. Calling. Marshawn shares what it takes to turn pain into purpose and your mess into a larger message and life mission.
Whether you are drowning in self-doubt and regret, feeling stuck, or sensing a shift but unable to discern what’s next, Marshawn’s Purpose Map outlining the 5 Stages of Divine Reinvention, will give you insight into your true gifts and calling—and the courage to pursue them. You’ll see that difficulties are not designed to devastate you, but to ignite the bigger dreams, life, love, and abundance you were destined for all along.
As a man who is still processing the abrupt departure of my wife from our marriage of almost 17 years, it’s been a struggle for me to regain my bearings, to put myself back together and to try making some sense out of what happened to me … and to us. Through it all, there have been family members, friends, members of the mosque that I attend and co-workers who would tell me: “You’ll be alright,” “It’s her loss,” “You’re best days are ahead,” “God has a plan for you,” … and so forth. I sincerely believed them … and believe that they were sincere in what they said … but somehow those words still felt kinda “cookie cutter”-ish. The words were what I would expect those who cared for me to say. However, I desired something that offered more … specificity. More direction!
How do I get to being alright? How and when do I get to experience these best days? Will God be gracious and merciful enough to share His plans for me … with me?
Enter “Believe Bigger: Discover The Path to Your Life Purpose.” Now, I’ve been following Marshawn Evans Daniels since I first heard her in a radio interview back in 2011. I’m no stranger to her brilliance and how God has guided her into transforming the lives of entrepreneurs. However, because I’m not an entrepreneur, I wasn’t sure how what she offers could apply to my life. This book has erased such uncertainty.
From the Introduction where Marshawn writes “Entering your purpose will first require an exit. To unleash the greater you, GOD WILL DISRUPT YOU AND DISMANTLE YOU” {emphasis mine} I was ABSOLUTELY sure this book would DIRECTLY apply to my life. Even though the language of this book clearly demonstrates the target audience is women of faith, I didn’t allow that to cause me, as a Muslim man, to miss seeing the universality of the principles she teaches. I said “teaches” because make no mistake about it … opening to pages of “Believe Bigger” is opening the door to a classroom. Marshawn Evans Daniels is the instructor. And yes, there is “homework” to be done … rather LIFEwork.
This book is truly Heaven-sent. It is an answer to many prayers that I’ve prayed and I believe that others have prayed for me. I thank God that through this dynamic woman of faith, I’ve been equipped with tools that will assist me with the restorative work that remains to be done in my life. Through “Believe Bigger,” I am experiencing His grace and mercy. Onward towards my “Glory Zone.” Onward towards my purpose.
I started highlighting from the very first page of this book. I believe this book was written from a place of surrender to the Holy Spirit because only He could have given her the words to cause such major disruption and transformation at the same time in my life. Every page breathes new life and speaks to and awakens the woman inside of me. I dont think I have read any book that has spoken to me so loudly and awakened me to my calling like believe bigger has. "I just didn’t know exactly where else I belonged . . . so it seemed easier and more comfortable to stay...I started the sports agency years before I got engaged, but in both scenarios cheating was front and center. In my relationship, I was being cheated on, but at my job, I was cheating on my calling." When I read this quote, I was like, wow Marshawn, have you been reading my journal? Have you been having a conversation with God about me? Because I know I have been cheating on my call. I have been ignoring the rumblings and loud whispers of more inside of me for a very long time. I have been saying yes to less because I was afraid to believe bigger. Not anymore. Another quote that just had me crying was, "What if God speaks most powerfully by saying nothing at all? The belief that we have to get it right or that we’ll somehow step out of grace stems from the fear that if we’re not careful, we’re going mess up our lives...When you’re faced with a choice, it is easy to find yourself facing paralysis. We over-think, over-pray, and over-research our way out of opportunities. And we over-question, trying to discern if something is God’s will...We become watchers instead of leapers. We keep waiting and waiting . . . and waiting on the perfect time... And, we don’t have to pray about every single thing, looking for confirmation in every possible way. That’s fear, not faith." As a woman of faith, I know that I can over think, over pray and over research my way out of opportunities. So this was a great reminder for me to stop over spiritualizing things, waiting and waiting for the perfect time and just go for it. I have prayed about it enough times, I know His Word concerning it, and now, it is time to go and act. If you are someone who is not clear about what her purpose is and you know deep down that there is more. If you're feeling stuck and in what she calls "The GAP" - a place of uncertainty, change and transition, BelieveBigger was written with you in mind. Her 5 Stages of Purpose and Divine Reinvention will help you get the clarity necessary for you to move into your calling. When we look at our lives, we see a mess. When God looks at our lives, He sees a map.
You don’t want to put this book down, because you can literally feel your beliefs and future changing. Marshawn breaks purpose all the way down in a way that is easy to digest and finally get. This book is anointed.
Believe Bigger for me is the prized possession of eternity, placed in a time capsule and sent into existence for an on schedule arrival. The voice of God is so evident in the pages of this book. When the stories and experiences of someone else make you say thank you as you read them, it’s clear that Marshawn Evans-Daniels truly got it right. When you can connect the suffering of someone else to the season of your own birthing, you realize that your life’s purpose is necessary. Your season of turmoil is necessary. I love how Marshawn teaches how disruption can be the sweet segue into the life you have been praying for.
Even more, Believe Bigger is a great guide for those hungry to discover their purpose and an amazing reference guide for those who may know their purpose, but need a reminder on how to stay the course. It’s really something for everyone! The only way to birth a message like Believe Bigger is to have a trustworthy vessel who gets it. You can tell God trusted her to birth this Believe Bigger baby. Marshawn really gets “it” (purpose) and is obsessed with making sure you get it too...and when you read this book, I promise you’ll definitely get it!
I started this book right when I lost a great job opportunity. The parallels to the author’s life pulled me in the first chapter. I was very confused on the next chapter of my life and this book helped me clarify my stance in life. There are so many gems that I cannot put it into words. My only drawback was some of the points began to feel a little repetitive but that could have been intentional. I will be doing a YouTube review in more depth.
I am writing this review to inform you of the importance of this book. It’s not the words in this book that are important to me. It’s the mere fact she made me question everything. The way that I view others, the way that I feel about my own story, and the way I view advice in general. The review below was my initial feelings after reading around four chapters of this book.
[Initially I was excited to read this book. I previewed the book and fell in love with the first chapter. But then... I got the book and realized that this book was just a poor little successful rich girl book. And I am definitely not the target audience for this. I struggle to relate to someone who has had a privileged lifestyle. Everything she has ever wanted in life has come to her. Rather she works hard or not, she’s gotten it. But, she suddenly she has an awakening about life when she was cheated on. Blah blah blah, what a story. The only reason this book is highly rated is because of the faux inspirational chapters. Throw God into any *inspirational* sentence and anyone who believes in the man upstairs will suddenly believe you’re so anointed.
Although, I will admit that part of me may think I got this book at the wrong time in my life. Possibly this book could work for me when I’m older. In my current state and age? Not so much. I may reread it in the future if my life changes. I will admit that I am doing a lot of projecting when it comes to this book. It’s difficult to listen to someone who has never walked a mile in the beat up shoes you’re wearing to give you the boring and tired you can pray yourself through anything speech. And that’s what this book is in a nutshell.
But if you can detach your reality and just listen to her, there are some good things in this book. I just don’t think her message works for me. And that’s okay. I still would recommend this book to someone that can relate to her story. ]
So you may think, hmm... should I read this book? I say yes. And, I say yes because it is important to listen and read the stories of others without centering yourself. It is difficult to do that with this book because it forces you to really look inside yourself and the way you handle things. The entire time I was reading this book, I was asking myself why do I want to finish this book? Why do I care about her advice when her story isn’t as bad as mine? But who am I to say that her pain isn’t valid? Although it may seems like she has it all, your view is only like that because you’re not her. And that is normal. Her voice is just as valid as yours.
Learning how to listen to the story of someone else and how they overcame pain without centering yourself - while unpacking your own pain is difficult. The ability to disagree with someone and still find the quality or at least understand the message is a beautiful thing. Sometimes you get a book that doesn’t speak to you at the time. You’re not fully ready to accept and receive all of the messages. That is valid and the beauty of life. Sometimes we get so caught up in our own lives that we can’t stop and receive.
“Get out of my own way.” “Live intentionally.” These phrases are finally given some practical and spiritual gravitasse in “Believe Bigger: Discover the Path to Your Life Purpose.”
The book could have been titled “The Purpose Map” because it’s primary focus is not so much the path to your purpose - but your actual purpose. And it hinges on 5 development stages - outlined as a map - to get you from an existence of doing to being in a way that feels concrete.
The author, Marshawn Evans-Daniels, is a reinvention strategist. But the book is not written like a “10 Steps to Happiness” guide. She blends powerful personal failures into very useful questions that the reader can use to acknowledge the experiences and “broken beliefs” that are holding them back. New concepts like holding on to the version of “you” from 1o years ago or building your life on other people’s expectations are fully explained and she gives you actual strategies to break out of these mental habits.
Marshawn patiently explains how we come to these “split-rock” moments (life-changers) and how to use the hidden treasures in the rock to go forward powerfully and meaningfully. Her writing style is friendly and non-judgmental, like if your friend was also your tutor.
But be clear, she is laser-focused on ensuring that you understand what your purpose and calling is - both from a Christian and professional perspective. Like many women in church, she felt limited in what she could do. Professionally, as an attorney, she felt unfulfilled. It was at that crossroads of feeling limited and talented that she disovered what her real purpose was. She challenges you, the reader, to carefully examine your own personal feelings, experiences, skills, and deep desires to “discover” what your purposes are too.
I will admit that after reading this book I felt much more certain of my spiritual and professional callings. I finally understood what the words “Purpose” and “Callings” meant because she clearly defined them. And I feel fairly confident that I could explain them to someone who asked me. There will be plenty of emotional, bittersweet moments due to the reflection exercises. But she gently leads you to the next “stage” and strategy so you don’t get stuck in the past, reliving every mistake. She shows you how the mistakes intertwine into that “future Me” that all of us want to be!
But one area where I thought the book struggled was with staying focused on Individual Purpose vs Impact to Others. The stronger message is on Individual Purpose but Marshawn links it to “helping others”. My only concern is that so many women are already “helping others” to the detriment of finding their true purpose! Women, especially in church, are already bombarded with messages to always be helping other people. I think this book made the strongest case for finding your individual Purpose first (like putting on your air mask first in an airplane), then helping others. To some extent it was almost apologetic, like “I’m finding my Purpose only because it will help others.”
However, this book is absolutely necessary and an excellent guide and testimonial to believing in yourself, believing in what God can do, and of course giving yourself permission to just “Believe Bigger” because there’s no reason not to.
Believe Bigger is well-written, carefully worded, and delivers its intent to realign you with Purpose - both spiritual and professional. You will not be disappointed. It is a must-read for Business Minded Women, in particular, who need a higher-level mentor to discover their next level.
Who Should Read This Book? Ages 18 and up. Professionals who feel lost in their chosen profession. People who can’t decide on their profession. People who are not fulfilled in Church -you may be on church ministries that seem routine. People who feel that they are missing out on “more.”
How to Read the Book This book is chronological in nature because it start with a personal experience that is threaded thoughout the entire book. Additionally, the Purpose Map -the focal point of the book - advances in numerical stages. So you really can’t “skip ahead” to a specific chapter or section that quickly addresses your problem.
Cons
Some non-Christian readers may not understand some of the spiritual concepts, which may be a drawback. Bringing very specific spiritual concepts like “Holy Spirit” done to earth in any practical way is very difficult. I don’t think I’ve read any Christian cross-over book that has mastered that particular concept yet.
The organization of the book has a few challenges. It’s divided into 3 uneven parts - two are very short - the middle is very long. There is one brief “intermission” chapter after Part 1 to set the reader up for Part 2, which would have been useful throughout the entire book to give the reader a “break”. The recaps of each chapter are given at the beginning of the next chapter, which I thought was a mistake. I would have liked the main principles of each chapter to come at the end as a summary.
Where to Buy Believe Bigger is available on Marshawn.com and Amazon for Pre-Order
Disclosure: I received an advance digital copy of this book as part of the Believe Bigger Launch Team. I was not compensated for this review in any way.
It took me a while to finish, but when I started it, it was everything I needed. And now that I finished it, especially before the new year, it's more than everything I needed. This book has everything. Is everything. I don't even know how to put it all in words. Just read it lol
Love this book so much! Will never stop recommending it. Marshawn Evans Daniels helped me replace those old tapes playing in my head that made me feel inadequate at times. It was just what I needed during this time in my life.
There’s really only one word that I can use to describe this book: rich. I’d consider myself an avid reader, particularly of the Christian/Self-Help genre. Of all the books I’ve read, this book is by far the most engaging, relevant, and with the most substance. Not only do your turn each page inspired, but you’re also given actionable steps and points of reflection for your life.
I immediately connected with Marshawn within the first few pages. I won’t be a spoiler, but many of the things that she experienced in her life were, in some way, mirrored in my own. As a reader, I could see myself in the book. It was as though I was reading my life. This made it more powerful as I progressed through the chapter. I could easily see where my life could go if I applied the principles of the book.
Marshawn is transparent in such a way that is not only alluring, but relatable. She cleverly uses her life’s story to share a message of faith, hope, purpose, and believing bigger. If this book doesn’t inspire you to walk into your purpose, I don’t know what will!
I have been encouraged by this book to keep walking in my calling and to believe that greater is yet to come. I’ve shared this book to everyone I’m connected to and I would encourage you to make this a part of your library.
“Disappointment does not disqualify us, it anoints us. Doubt is what disqualifies us.”
Believe Bigger is line after line wisdom filled (just like the title of this review). I found myself highlighting, underlining, screenshotting, and shouting throughout the book. It was one of those reads that I found myself sneaking to find extra time to read just one more word.
The book spoke to me in ways that I would never have imagined. It was real, relatable, and raw. I appreciated that even when Marshawn was telling her story, I saw myself. This is not a memoir. It’s a manual on how to tackle this thing called life with grace, gratefulness, and purpose. It awakened new desires in me to step into uncharted waters and make an impact that I can’t even imagine.
It is laced with life and breath and I encourage EVERYONE who’s trying to find their next step in life, faith, or career to purchase it.
Since starting to read the book, I began to Believe Bigger and divine doors have opened. I’ve gotten speaking engagements, formed new relationships, and made more money. It all starts with belief.
I am blown away! I felt as though I was literally reading parts of my life etched on the page. The only difference is that the insight she provides into her story and struggle and faith is strong and beyond words. I literally could not stop turning the page. I’m highlighting. I’m clutching my chest in agreement. I’m holding my breath wondering what happens next. I am just in awe of how Marshawn has been able to capture BELIEVE BIGGER from wilderness to winning and beyond.
As a Christian, Jesus-loving, 36-year-old woman addicted to the view of success and driven always for more... this book has stopped me in my tracks and I’m realizing I need to spend much more time with God passionately pursuing purpose not just my own process. Thanks so much Marshawn. You’ve lit a fire. I’m believing BIGGER already. Bigger faith. Bigger goals. Bigger love. Bigger prayer life. Bigger purpose. BIGGER. This book has been the ride of my life so far. And I plan to do a book club soon. Yay!
This is such a dynamic audiobook and I highly recommend Believing Bigger by Marshawn Evans Daniels.
Author Marshawn Evans Daniels takes you on a journey from her childhood through to adulthood, each lesson of love, heartache, heartbreak, betrayal to love again. It clearly demonstrated the power of God is with her every step of the way, it is so teachable and real-life that it shows each of us how we go through the same things but it also shows that God is a way maker and always has a bigger and better plan for us if we just allow Him to have His way in our lives.
I thoroughly enjoyed this read and I have already written down the chapters that I will relisten to because they spoke so powerfully to me.
Believer Bigger is a book that will provoke you to take a look at your journey through life with new eyes. It will cause you to view what you thought as a setback as a setup. Believe Bigger caused me to do some self introspection. I appreciate Marshawn’s heart. I appreciate her honesty and transparency. I appreciate her rawness. It’s very apparent that Marshawn has allowed God to use her in a mighty way through this book. I can appreciate my life’s journey because of wisdom that comes forth in this book. Marshawn uses her life’s journey thus far, all the setbacks, hurts, disappointments and distractions to help us understand our very own journey. Believer Bigger is for the woman who has given up on life. For the woman who is just beginning her journey. It’s for the woman who believes there is more but is not sure how to get there. It’s for the woman who has been at the top of her game but now sees her life from a different view. Marshawn has been at every stage and now she is using what God has placed in her to help us. Believe Bigger is a breath of fresh air! Believe Bigger is a book filled with practical wisdom and encouragement. It’s a map on how to get from where you are to where you desire to be. Believe Bigger will help you to embrace life’s distractions and to see them with new eyes. Believe Bigger will help you to BELIEVE BIGGER!!!
I highly recommend this book. To be honest, I really don't care for books in this genre normally. But this book spoke to me as I am going through my own split rock moment. I listened to the audio from the library, but I will buy it to get the PDFs. I believe bigger and will live out my life's purpose
I was able to read Believe Bigger for free from Netgalley, the publisher and the author for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review. The book came at the right moment for me. Everything Marshawn Evans Daniels was right on. It was very honest, revealing and helpful. Love the book and will continue to read her books.
I love to read books - specifically self-help books. But this is not your typical self-help book! It’s a fresh ELEVATED perspective on the journey we face as women and how our experiences both chaotic and soul stirring are meant to take us from our comfort zone to our glory zone. Believe Bigger is written by a woman who is leading an extraordinary life and operating an extraordinary business. She has graciously and lavishly poured her heart and KNOWLEDGE into every chapter. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED by one word, one page, one point or one story.
But here’s the best part. Believe Bigger will give you the tools to take action after the inspiration and excitement wear off. After reading this book, I went after and landed my first PAID corporate training. I wasn’t confident that a corporate setting was where I belonged. But after reading this book I CHOSE to believe that if God was sending me into the marketplace then that’s EXACTLY where I belong! Whatever door opens I’m running through it with the confidence that my life has prepared me! I’d forgotten about me - as being a wife and mommy to toddlers had begun to take over ever aspect of life. Truth is, I was settling. I knew deep down I could do both well, but I had to CHOOSE greatness, no one was going to choose for me. I BELIEVE I can be a great wife and mom WHILE operating with excellence in the business space God has called me to!
I’ve never read anything like this in my life. No book has touched my heart and opened my eyes in such an amazing way. It focuses on the concept of purpose, and honestly, purpose is a topic that’s always seemed far-fetched and confusing to me. People talk about how important it is but never seem to be able to explain how to really find it. Marshawn gives extraordinarily clear, scripture-driven action steps to finding all that God has for your life. It’s also easy to understand and makes room for serious introspection. Like anything worth while, you’ll get out of this book what you put in - take it seriously, and it could change your life.
Disruption and destiny go together hand-in-hand. Purpose, however, is not supposed to be a mystery. God desires that we attain mastery. I am a book reader (now also an audiobook listener too). I rarely come across books that give me the sister girl truth but still feels like love from a grandma's hug. Well, Believe Bigger is that book for me. I have been a fan of Marshawn Evans for several years now and although she has shared her journey over the years through videos, speaking engagements, and workshops, this book has helped me feel that I know her. Her journey has been quite interesting. The thing I love most about Believe Bigger is that is raw and uncut. She tells her story without placing blame and she embraces the process of life. Life WILL always happen and our response to what makes the difference. Marshawn teaches us and provides examples of how we are to be responsible for ourselves.
We as women, all have "Little Me" that journeys with us for us. It is always determined to block "Future Me". In this book, we learn that little me is an important part of life, but that Future me is greater, Future me is who God has destined us to be. Future me is who God said before we were in our mother's womb would be. Future me take time to evolve into but I believe that Future Me is necessary. Future me is Kingdom.
In this book, we learn the 5 steps to the purpose map. Each step is defined in detail by Marshawn. She explains how each step is important. It is more of a process of life that we will all endure
We learn about sacrifice, forgiveness (and how forgiveness is about more than just forgiving someone), motivation, intention, commitment and getting rid of shrinkin, stinkin thinkin.
One of my favorite sections in this book is the chapter covering divine invention where Marshawn discusses our purpose, calling, gifts, disruption and reinvention. My second favorite section was over The Five Success Mountain that women endure.
This book is filled with so many nuggets and gems. Here are a few quotes/scriptures that truly tugged at my heart.
Anything we struggle to release is a sign of deeply seated doubt. Comparison cripples our confidence and compromises our calling.
If you wait for perfect conditions, you will never get anything done.—Ecclesiastes 11:4 (TLB)
If you are on the fence go ahead and buy it! It will bless your life.I then encourage you to share it (so buy a few) with the women in your life or to bless a complete stranger. I have recommended both the audio and hardback version to everyone.
As a woman of God, we need to surround ourselves with likeminded believers. Marshawn is a woman who has shown us over and over that we can BE Kingdom minded and have success. We are designed and equipped.
The opening, the standout portion of this book takes readers through a devastating experience Evans-Daniels went through. It's real, raw, and vulnerable. It add to her relatability, that she isn't perfect. As a whole the book focuses on the journey of growth. Evans-Daniels narrates the audiobook herself, making for a good listening experience. The tone is highly positive and simple to understand.
Her candor about a very hurtful personal situation that happened to her offers a refreshing take of honesty. She could’ve kept the details private, as many of them could be deemed as embarrassing, and maybe she did keep some things private. However, she seemed very open and authentic in the feelings that she discussed about it.
There were many lessons throughout the book, most are along the lines of trusting in God and your inner voice. These are not new ideas that haven’t been heard before. One big takeaway is that one can bounce back from any situation, and also one may have to let go of previous ideas in order to advance to the next level in life.
The book grabs readers with an engaging drama-filled story in the beginning. Although, it was very predictable. Readers can easily tell where the story is going to lead. After the intro, things slow down quite a bit. There is a lot of motivational speak, interspersed with personal anecdotes. The tone is a mixture of marketing-like sound bites and churchy rhetoric. The ideas discussed are not necessarily new ways of thinking or big, deep ideas, but rather just another's interpretations of biblical messaging. These portions are a bit monotonous. Unfortunately, the majority of the book reads this way.
Evans-Daniels has a positive energy about herself and is likable. She's very ambitious given her many accomplishments mentioned in the book. However, the writing isn’t necessarily a standout. I would recommend for Christian women in particular, as there is a lot of Christian rhetoric. Also, if you just like simple, upbeat, light, motivational things, this could fall into those categories..
It is very difficult to put into words how this book has contributed to my spiritual journey. First, let me just say that I have an extensive list of books that I already wanted to read; however, this book came to me through God. Long story short, I was at a place where I normally wouldn’t be and I just so happened to relocate my seat from where I was previously sitting and waiting. Although I brought a book to read with me, there were magazines covering the table in front of me, in no particular arrangement. I’m not the biggest fan of magazine reading, so I was hesitant to pick one up. I obliged. I recall mostly flipping through with little thought or effort to pay attention to what was there. All of a sudden, something caught my attention. Needless to say, it was this book. I can’t recall if it was an interview or just a feature of it but either way, I felt in my spirit that I needed to get the book. I usually add books to my list of “Want to Read” books on this app but not this time. A few days later, I remembered the book and immediately went to Barnes and Noble to purchase the book. Remember, there are already several books waiting to be read by me on the list, in addition to 4 other books already in my reading rotation on my night stand. This book came at the perfect time in my life, a time when God knew one way to speak to me. I’m so grateful that Ms. Evans allowed God to use her voice, the disruption and her gifts to create this. I recommend this book to anyone who is on a spiritual journey with God and needs to hear what that looks like from another person who has been on and still is on that journey. Marshawn helps put our experiences into perspective to help us see they contribute to God’s greater purpose for us. It’s a must read (or listen to if audiobooks work best for you :-).
My goodness I did not know Believe Bigger would be such a blessing to my life! I was totally in a place where I knew God was calling me to new heights, but did not know where to start. I came across Believe Bigger: Discover the Path to Your Life Purpose. From the time I picked up this book, my world has not been the same! The moment I began reading I knew this book was different from others I have read in the past. The message will have you screaming PREACH as you read every word!
In the book, the author describes five stages that we go through, however most people never get out of stage two and never reach their true purpose. WOW, that right there should stop you in your tracks (I know it did for me). Marshawn’s book taught me about the stage I am currently in, how to move forward in my life, as well as where God is directing my footsteps next. This book will reveal to you the very same thing! Imagine having clarity and revelation every time you turn the page! Originally, I ordered this book via my Kindle as soon as I heard about the book. NOW I have ordered three more!!! This message needs to be spread worldwide, that is how anointed this message is. This book needs to be on everyone’s shelf TODAY and I say that from a place of wanting YOU to know your God given purpose as well. If you are looking for a divine intervention then this is the book for you!
This book has revolutionized my life! I received an early release copy of this book, and I promise you that my life is not the same. It’s so good that I have purchased 11 altogether to give to friends!! This book does not boast of some magic formula. It is not a prosperity gospel message. It is not your typical self-help book. This book teaches you to overcome fear by facing the disruptions in your life.
Marshawn asks the question, “What if the bad things are not happening to you, but are happening for you?” I AM TELLING YOU!!! This book caused me to shift how I look at the disruptions and disappointments in life. Disruption in life is a set up for a bless up if you recognize it.
I have wrestled with anxiety and doubt for as long as I can remember. There are days that it is a struggle for me to even breathe. Since I started reading this book I do not wrestle with anxiety. I can breathe. Inhale and exhale. Normally breathing is such a labor (literally). Fear and trauma are crippling. But, I am not carrying elephants in my chest anymore. I am not afraid. Marshawn’s book talks about eliminating stinking shrinking thinking. She has taught me that I don’t have to be afraid, and think small of myself. Instead, I can hold my head up and trust God. He desires for me to trust him for BIGGER! Totally buy this book!
This book is a story about Marshawn's hardest moment -- finding out that she was no longer getting married to the man of her dreams and how she worked hard to find out what's God called for her. I enjoyed many aspects of things she had written down in her book but I also felt like there were some red flags that kept popping up. Yes, you can have a vision for your life and pray that God will be done but not everyone has been called to have millions of dollars. (Wealth and money are not what is always calling us to be.....if you were to actually look at what Jesus did during his time here....it was alot of sharing money between everyone so that everyone was provided for.) There are people all over the world who are living in poverty and just because they pray and ask for God's will to be a millionaire doesn't mean that they are going to get that. I am a missionary over in Taiwan and yes there are times that I wish God had given me the ability to be very wealthy and to not have to worry about finances but those moments where we worry about money are the times when God provides and keeps us in his hand. I appreciate parts of her book but I think at times you have to think that God isn't going to give you money and wealth and fame to everyone.....but he does provide wisdom in the scripture to help us cling to him.
Sometimes it can be uncomfortable knowing that God has called you to a purpose BIGGER than you feel you're worthy of, and maybe one that you haven't even fully tapped into yet...you just know it's something BIGGER than yourself.
