I had no idea that the client's role was so big and important! I can just imagine how crucial that information is to people wanting to make dramatic changes or turn their lives around. In order to get the most out of their therapy, they would need to know what kind of work they need to do. This book is an invaluable tool for anyone looking to use therapy to instigate change, work through difficulties, or sort things out. I highly recommend it! The author highlights the importance of the client's role in taking ownership of his or her own therapy, helping them see their own ability to begin to heal themselves. I really appreciated his focus on what clients can do to make therapy better for themselves; it's a unique perspective, and it's empowering. Having a blueprint for making therapy work provides reassurance for times when it's hard, encouragement for better times ahead, and practical advice for making it work better. I learned so much about therapy-- and about making it really work-- by reading this book!

Very interesting

I am relatively new to therapy and this book explained perfectly what I should expect, but more importantly it explains how to get the most from your therapy. It's invaluable to me.
