Fiancée for Hire

Rate this book
Marry the woman I love? Not likely. I’ve got an hour to marry a woman. Period. Either I get engaged, or I marry my ex. So I do what any guy would do. I grab the cocktail waitress at my party and propose. What kind of over-the-top crazy woman would fake her own death to trap a billionaire into marrying her? Well, that’d be my ex. And yeah, I know, my taste in women sucks. Then again, the cocktail waitress at my party has every ounce of my attention, and I’m pretty sure she’d taste just fine. She’s got this nervous laugh and just the right amount of freckles. She’s the kind of girl you’d be proud to take home to your parents, but I’m just interested in taking her to bed. But then my ex crashes my party. So I do what any guy would do. I drag the cocktail girl into the pantry and get down on one knee. She gets a ring, a couple million bucks, and all she has to do is say yes. What could go wrong? **This is a full-length, standalone fake marriage romance. No cheating or cliffhangers, and a Happily Ever After is guaranteed!**

Started out good. He needs a fiancee so he doesn't have to wed his seriously crazy ex. She agrees..hot sex and love comes. Then a whole bunch of crazy outrageous situations happen. For example, drilling holes in teeth to put in a gas "bomb" to knock out people who kidnapped her. Sweet epilogue.

This one ended at 52%, and there's a bonus book.

To Avoid Making a Deal with the Devil, a Deal is Made with a She-Devil Instead.

This has all the elements of a great storyline... the sexy hotness of an Alpha male in pursuit of his love and the tense romantic suspense that you come to expect from a story written by Melinda Minx. I love her characters both good and bad and the unique situations you find them in her stories.
Liam and Amber do not meet in classic wham! love at first sight style. They have a moment in a beautiful setting which involves some subterfuge on the part of Liam. Apparently this moment lingers for both of them because they ask about it to each other after the fact.
Out of necessity, Liam turns to Amber and asks her to be his fiancé in name only as a business proposition. Naturally, more than business feelings develop but are they enough to sustain a forever kind of love? Is Liam's desire not to marry so strongly entrenched in his psyche that he actually pays someone just to be his fiancé, so he does not need to marry?
Liam is the handsome sex on a stick billionaire who to the delight of his woman, is genetically gifted. Amber is the unpretentious and unspoiled natural, unique beauty whose sweet personality has earned her a stalker.
Add the stalker to the she-devil with which Liam made a deal 10 years go and you have some page-turning, psycho-biatch drama that leaves the reader in suspense until fairly close to the end.
Oh..I would be remiss, if I forgot to tell you how deliciously hot the sex is between Amber and Liam. MmmHmm.
This is guaranteed all-around satisfying entertainment and there is a whole other story that's included when you simply one click your way to all of it.

I enjoyed this book very much. There is lots of drama in Fiancee for Hire, with Liam thinking the Cynthia is dead, he wants to celebrate his 30th with a big party. Amber working as a bartender at Liam's birthday party has no idea what is in store for her. I cannot believe what Cynthia does to Amber just to try to get Liam to marry her as it says in their contract. I thought the ending is really lovely and sweet. I would recommend the book to others.

SPICY PASSION WITH A TOUCH OF DANGER

This sultry tale has all the elements to keep you glued to your seat; dynamic plot, raging jealousy, spine-chilling action, heart-pounding suspense, intense fiery passionate romance, and a surprise happy ever after.

Liam is built, eye-catching gorgeous, and his charismatic personality makes you melt. He is in also in a heap of trouble; his ex-girlfriend wants to marry him. To rectify this dilemma he needs a fake fiancée. Amber a cute sassy student in college and a bartender meets his criteria for a fake bride.

A fabulous well-written story that had me hooked until the conclusion. I must say that this story had me laughing, a bit scared, and delighted too. Liam was the type not to want to fall in love but Amber sees beyond his money and accepts him for the person he is. Amber's upbeat personality and strong will make her the perfect match for Liam. I adored them together; their romance was filled with a bit of fun, danger, and much devotion. If you treasure Billionaire Romance this is definitely a hot book for your library. {I enjoyed this story so much {I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy}. Without reservations, I recommend this book.

Liam Lions never wants to get married or have a family. Liam's ex Cynthia Frost faked her own death to trap Liam into honoring their contract. Liam meets Amber Green and nothing in his life will ever be the same again. Amber was supposed to be just a bartender at Liam's birthday party but turned into far than that Liam's fiancee. Can Amber keep her feelings to herself? Will Liam change his mind about marriage? Your answers await you in Fiancee for Hire.

I loved this book from first to last page! The characters and story were flawed, compelling, raw, real, honest, rich, bold, complex, full of heart, and fascinating. Ms. Minx really has a way with words that make you feel like you're actually there with the characters. I look forward to my next adventure with this author.

2.5 Stars

This book had the potential to have been a 3 star read for me. It started out strong and I really loved Liam, but as the story moved along it progressively got worse. Towards the end of the story (which ends at 52%), there was such an absurd amount of craziness happening that it really ruined my enjoyment of the story and all of the good things I had liked about it (hence the 2.5 star rating). There is a bonus book at the end, but after this fiasco it's doubtful that I'll ever read it.

Wealthy playboy Liam Lions is getting ready to celebrate his 30th birthday. His assistant – James -- is hiring 30 bartenders, and Liam is finally feeling “safe” from his ex, Cynthia Frost. He told James to let Gabriela know she is off the stand-by status for being his fake fiancee. But James uneasily warns that maybe they should not celebrate just yet – not until midnight anyway!

James hires Amber as a bartender, promising her she won’t need to wear a sexy outfit – uniforms would be provided. She arrives at the mansion early and is told to walk around to the back entrance, a long and winding path through the gardens which she stops to enjoy. Liam is cutting through the gardens to make a late entrance and sits down beside her on the bench. After the initial startle, Amber assumes Liam is another bartender and they chat about the jerk billionaire and what they would do if they had a million dollars. Until suddenly Amber realizes she is now late and runs inside!

Finally the birthday celebrant shows up and Amber realizes it is her mystery bartender! Worse yet, he makes eye contact and comes straight over to her. The other two bartenders are in shock watching their exchange. Liam apologizes for not telling her who he is, and gives her a huge tip.

As Liam is mingling, James runs up and tells him Cynthia is on her way! She is not dead as they were told – and she is crashing the party! She had made a deal with Liam 10 years earlier that he would marry her if he was not engaged to someone else by the time he turned 30. And she would complete an $800 million business deal in return. It was now time to “pay up” and marry her! So Liam got everyone’s attention and made his big announcement – he was now engaged and his fiancée was undercover among them this evening. Then James grabbed Amber and took her to the kitchen pantry, and Liam offered her that million dollars they had pretended about in the garden! All she had to do was pretend to be his fiancée for a year! How will Cynthia respond to this news? Can Liam keep up the fake engagement, or will Amber win his heart?

This was a fantastic read! Amber was absolutely delightful! She was fun and perky, a character the reader could really like. Liam was likewise fun, teasing the unsuspecting Amber and ready to surprise her with his true identity. The story line was really good and moved along at a nice pace. There are even more surprises coming -- this book is so worth reading! I highly recommend it.

I am voluntarily writing this review for this book I received through arc.

Liam knew he has to be engaged by his 30th birthday and his ex girlfriend was dead so he knew he didn’t have to deal with the contract. Liam’s friend James was throwing him a birthday party. James had Amber come and work the party. She was sitting outside gathering her thought. Liam walks up to her she thinks he’s another bartender and they just talk. Amber realizes she is late so she runs into get into her uniform.
She asks James about the blonde bartender and James points to another man. Amber says no that’s not him so she kept looking around as they are setting up their wine station. Liam walks up to her station and the other bartenders realize that she had met Liam and thought he was another bartender. Then all of a sudden Liam ex shows up and everyone believe her dead. James tells Liam he better do something so James grabs Amber tells her what’s happening and to go along with Liam. Liam introduces his fiancé which happens to be Amber his explanation is that they been keeping it on the lowdown. Liam told Amber he would pay her 5 million dollars to go along as he didn’t want have to marry Cynthia his ex. Amber is to move in with Liam she would have her own room. Of course, it made the tabloids and TV. Liam decided to take Amber on a real date so they fly off to Paris. He tells her that there will be no paparazzis so they would have peace and quiet to get to know each other. They get back to the states in the meantime Cynthia goes after Amber with a vengeance. Anton was helping Cynthia to get her hands on Amber. Cynthia then drugs and kidnaps Anton and Amber. Cynthia sends Eric a picture of Amber bound and naked and tells him to come to her or she will shoot Amber. Will Eric play along with Cynthia. Does Eric get there to late. Twists, Turns, kidnapping and murder makes this a page turner.

I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.

In this book we meet Liam Lions and Amber Green. Amber is just a bartender trying to make a living. So when she gets hired to work Liam's 30 birthday party she doesn't think anything of it. She doesn't even know who he is. He is just another rich guy looking for a bartender to work his party for the night. So when she shows up early and decides she has time to stop and smell the roses literally, she does. Little did she know while out there she would start up a conversation with none other than the man himself or that in a short amount of time he would ask her to become his fake fiancee. Can she do this or will her past judgments of people with money make this all blow up in all their faces?

Liam has been living his life his way for the past almost 30 years and doesn't plan on changing that for anyone. So when the deal he made with the devil 10 years earlier comes to bite him in the butt on the night of his birthday party he needs to think fast. So what does he do he convinces the one woman he has been able to have a conversation with in more years than he can remember to be his fake fiance. However the more time he spends with her the more he is beginning to realize he might actually have some feelings for her. Will he change his lifestyle for just one woman though or will he learn there is more to life than just being a playboy?

This book has many twists and turns that I really want to tell you all about. However I feel that every reader should have the chance to discover them for themselves. I will say this book will hook you in from the first word to the very end. I would highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone.

So, you can figure our the premise from the title. Amber gets a job as a bartender at the birthday party of rich, gorgeous, cocky Liam. Because of an turn in the outcome of a contract Liam thought he got out of, he suddenly needs a fiancee - NOW! Having hit it off with Amber (without her knowing it was actually Liam, the birthday boy himself, she was talking to) before the party started, he decides to see if she will play along - for a hefty price.
The thing is, Cynthia, the "other party" in Liam's contract, doesn't want him to get away - she wants him for herself.
Now, you might see were this is going but...the author takes it to another level! While Amber and Liam are getting to know each other and actually thinking of giving a relationship a real try, you start rooting for the poor girl/rich boy pairing to have a HEA. Suddenly the story takes a twist - drama - oh yeah! Anger, fear, danger!
This plot twist was unexpected making this oh so much more than a rich, bad boy, poor girl romance. It definitely kept you involved and unwilling to stop turning pages til the story was done.
Also, I liked how the ending was handled. Entertaining read!

A great story about a part-time student and bartender, Amber, and a hot billionaire, Liam. There first meeting is at his estate in the gardens, Amber is there to bartend his party and when they meet in the gardens, she has no idea who he is. She makes jokes about the rich and offends Liam. Liam is intrigued about her and thinks she is pretty in her own kind of way. When he hears that an old lover, Cynthia, is actually alive and coming to claim him, he gets Amber to pretend to be his fiancée so he can get out of a deal with Cynthia. When they get to know each other real feelings develop and the fake becomes real but Cynthia has her own plans on destroying them.
A great story with a few chuckles along the way, some suspense and action, with steamy scenes. I also enjoyed how he was not immediately in love with Amber and they became friends first, as well as how she still says what's on her mind to Liam, not being intimidated by his wealth.

I read "Fiancee for Hire" in an afternoon and it was such a fun read. Liam and Amber was a formidable pair for Liam's nasty ex, Cynthia. When Liam uses his quick wits and involves Amber into thwarting his promise to Cynthia from 10 years ago, the story becomes hot sexy fun with tension and drama. There were a few more characters that popped up in the drama, but the author's well written story flowed with an ease that keeps the reader turning the pages without confusion. Even with the drama, things become steamy between Liam and Amber, while they resolve the Cynthia problem, and work their way into a HEA. For a bit of fun and sexy reading, I recommend you pick this one up. I would like to thank the author for gifting me with "Fiancee for Hire". My opinion is my own. This is mine 4.25 Stars!

This is one crazy, funny, sexy, madcap story but I absolutely loved it.
Liam has made a crazy deal. If he hasn't married by the time he is 30 he has to marry crazy Cynthia. Well he only has a few hours left so crazy thoughts require crazy actions right!!! He knew he shouldn't have made that deal ten years ago. What he needs is a fake fiancée and who better than Amber, a waitress at his party. Crazy actions right!!! This is when the fun starts. Liam pays Amber to be his fake fiancée and changes her world in more ways than one. What starts out to be a temporary engagement turns into crazy people doing crazy things. Amber has a stalker Anton who gets drawn into this madcap plot . It made me laugh at times but then things get serious. As I said, a crazy sexy story that will make you read it quickly to see what happens. Loved it.

Amber and Liam meet at his thirtieth birthday party where circumstances have him in need of a fake fiancé. He makes Amber an offer she can't refuse. Only the more time they spend together, the more real it becomes.

Amber and Liam are both likable characters and the chemistry between then was undeniable. Liam is extremely wealthy and Amber has never had money in her life. She did a good job of reminding him of the little things he took for granted. There's some crazy drama caused by his ex and some other drama caused by a guy who's infatuated with Amber. The big scene at the end was a little over the top, but the story was otherwise okay.

My purchase included a second book entitled Jack: a Badboy Lumberjack Romance which I have not read yet.

Just wasn't believeable from start to finish. Billionaire Liam makes a deal with the devil in the form of a woman name Cynthia 10 years ago to save the family business and within 1 hour of his 30th birthday becomes engage to female bartender so he won't have to fulfill contract of marrying Cynthia.
Female bartender, Amber who talks trash about rich folks doesn't realize who she is talking to or what the billionaire looks like who's party she is hired to work. Mind you all the female bartenders were to be average looking when hired not to entice Liam the playboy birthday boy. Too much crazyiness like stalker Anton in Amber's class who she was nice too is obsessed with her and crazy plot by Cynthia where Amber and Anton are kidnapped with shocker regarding Cynthia at the end.

Liam is at a party celebrating his thirtieth birthday when he receives word his ex girlfriend is headed his way. She will be expecting him to marry her if he is not already engaged. So in desperation, he chooses to propose to a random bartender, Amber. Pretending to be a fake fiancé will bring a huge payoff she can't refuse. So now they have to convince the ex girlfriend that the "engagement " is real. The story is very entertaining as the charade moves along. But unforeseen circumstances turn deadly. The culmination of jealousy, hate and revenge makes for an exciting, unexpected climax. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. Five stars.

Liam and Amber are trying to pull off a classic HEA - the fake fiancee! Liam is in jam if he isnt engaged by his 30th he will be forced to marry a woman he made a foolish business deal with. The deal made him rich but now it will cost him his freedom if he cant find someone to quickly pose as his wife-to-be. Enter Amber, just trying to make ends meat when she takes a gig bartending for the night she never expected to end up being proposed to! They soon realize that their is more that meets the eye to this arrangement and the feelings and chemistry are much truer that a contract. But with a very unhappy and psychotic ex running lose all is not as your hired!

Billionaire needs to be engaged, girl needs money, instant attraction and they fall in love - we've seen it a lot lately. But, as I've come to expect from Melinda Minx, there are some entertaining twists, a bit of intrigue, and some humor along the way. Liam is cocky and self-assured and Amber has no problem telling him exactly how she feels about wealthy people and they run through money. With an obsessed ex and a silly admirer that you almost feel sorry for, it's an entertaining story that held my interest. I would've liked to have seen a bit more development in Liam and Amber's relelationship, but other than that, I enjoyed the book and would recommend it.

This story started out so good but the further into I got, I just got disconnected from the characters. Liam needed a fiancee to close a business deal. He just picks Amber from his party, a bartender. She shuns his money at first but comes to enjoy it. Amber is feisty at first but she just seemed to just go along with everything after a few days. Liam wasn't ready to settle down but once he Mets Amber, his feelings changer.
Cynthia was the game changer in the story. I feel that she got lucky in this story. The major arch of the story just felt off. You just don't get that feeling at the end of wow, he got her.

Kept Me On The Edge Of My Seat, Whole Way Through

Well this book certainly held my attention. I don't typically like romantic suspense but this one held me hostage and not against my will, either. Melinda Minx is a terrific author and I have enjoyed each one of her books I've read.

Liam is in serious trouble. 10 years ago, he made a deal with a devil named, Cynthia, and now she has come to collect. Liam needs a Fiancé to help him escape Cynthia's clutches and Amber is perfect for the job. The job being, a FAKE Fiancé. Cynthia is not easily fooled however and hatches a viscous plan to get Liam back. Will her plan work or will Liam and Amber be victorious in the end?

The version I had was not a full length, stand alone story, but a taster. Now write a review, photograph it and you can have the rest for free. Unfortunately, this review is unlikely to get me that. Instead, if I felt the need to read further, I could buy the next two books in the series. Hmm, false advertising.
The plot so far is okay, but there is potential for things to go a little crazy. The editing is lousy. I had to laugh at the line, “I’m supposed to meet with James at TIME.’ Why wouldn’t an author write in a time and go back and edit it later if necessary? Instead Minx makes it obvious she has not even begun to edit before publishing. Not cool.

This book has it all!

What begins as a humorous plan to outwit a "predator" quickly becomes so much more.

Liam and Amber are opposites, total opposites, but there is a spark between them.
Their fake engagement quickly becomes real.

HEA? Not if Cynthia has anything to do with it! But how far will she go to get the man she wants, Liam? Quite a long way is the answer!

The story changes from humour to drama, to real danger.

The characters are believable, the plot fairly rattles along, but will there be a HEA?
Read it to find out!

Fiancee for Hire is about Amber, a pretty beekeeper and Liam, the billionaire who made a deal with the devil. Ms. Mine did a wonderful job with telling this story. The characters and the story line just flowed together that you reach THE END before you realize it. It's one of those "what ifs" story that happened to come true for Amber. I recommend this short read to anyone who has ever wondered what if.

I received this book in advance for a voluntary honest review. Liam is a billionaire who made a deal with the devil, his ex, Cynthia, that he would marry her when he turned 30 unless he was engaged or already married. Thinking Cynthia has died Liam believed he was off the hook until she shows up at his 30th birthday bash. Desperate to avoid marriage to Cynthia he grabs the cocktail waitress he chatted up in the garden, Amber, and hires her to be his fiancée. The lines blur between them and a real relationship blossoms. Good read-dash of danger and hot sex.

This is a good book/story. It's a complete stand alone and doesn't leave you hanging. You get your happily ever after. This has a good mix of suspense and action along with a nice love story. I love how the two main characters meet and the assumptions she makes about him. Then, when she finds out the truth a short while later, it is classic. Would have loved to have been there to see that. Although not one of the mail characters, I think Anton was my favorite. Anyway, this is a good story and I thoroughly enjoyed a great escape from reality. I'm sure you will too!

This story was very enjoyable. Liam & Amber are complete opposites but they made it work. Liam had to hire a fake fiancée to get away from the crazy that is Cynthia Frost. It was only suppose to be fake but Liam & Amber grew closer together, but never did they imagine the lengths Cynthia would go to claim Liam herself. Will Cynthia take away any chance of Liam & Amber bring together? Must Read to find out
