I really like this series about Gabriel Wolfe by Andy Maslen. Fury is all about revenge, not from Wolfe but against him. Who is after him through his loved ones and will Britta and Gabriel marry? Well read the book and enjoy a wild ride through many countries while Gabriel tries to figure it out and catch the person behind the deeds. I do enjoy this series partly because it is not like everything else out there and I like the connection to Sweden and the fact that Maslen writes some comments from Britta in swedish. Even though it sometimes isn't correct swedish. In this book however ther is one big mistake and that is the part where Britta thinks back at a time in her youth when she spent time with her farfar and mormor in their house. Now farfar is your paternal grandfather and mormor is your maternal grandmother and don't get me wrong maybe they shared a life together but I don't thinks so. Farfar should go with farmor and mormor should stay with morfar. I can see that it's an easy fault to make but still. However I still like and recommend these books and now that I have collected them all I will read and enjoy.
Once again Gabriel and Brita are in the thick of things. An old nemesis thought to be dead is slowly ruining Gabriel's life under the direction of a forgotten woman from his past. Loads of fun and action with a great plot twists and characters. Real page turner you just can't put down ! Highly recommend it.
The previous books had a semblance towards reality this book was so far fetched I was losing interest, he will no longer be on my go to list of authors.
I don’t expect reality but this was beyond belief.
After facing up to the ghosts that haunt him from his past and fulfilling a promise to a fallen buddy, British black ops agent Gabriel Wolfe is beginning to look to the future with his partner, Swedish special agent Britta Falskog. But fate has other plans in the personae of assassin Sasha Beck and the mysterious woman who hired her. Gabriel will have to use all the training he learned from his mentor Master Zhao and the SAS to confront the horrors ahead that will change his life forever.
Author Andy Maslen has pulled out all the stops in this episode of the series. One deadly attack after another push Gabriel to the edge of sanity and it is only the help of old and new characters that keep him on course to a final bitter showdown. This is definitely a must read.
NOTE: To truly understand Gabriel's journey to this point in his life and why these current events are so personal, I strongly suggest reading the earlier novels in order as this is the culmination of Gabriel's story arc (the first 3 novels are available in a very reasonably priced box set.) You won't regret it.
SAS veteran Gabriel Wolfe who suffers from ptsd is finally getting some order in his life he proposes to girlfriend Britta who accepts. Just when life is looking good Gabriel discovers his best friend Julia has been murdered and a note left at the scene suggests Gabriel could be in the frame. Gabriel is then run off the road in his precious car almost killing him and writing the car off. He realises someone is out to get him and they are killing off the people who are most important in his life one by one. But who is it and what has he done? Will he discover who and why before they get to Britta and are they planning to kill him too? As always Andy has excelled himself Fury is fast paced full of action and detail and has you guessing until the end.
5.0 out of 5 starsFury by Name. Fury by Nature. But Who is Fury? This fifth instalment will not disappoint Wolfe fans. In Fury, Wolfe finds himself battling with an unknown enemy who clearly has designs on destroying his life, which includes targeting those close to him.
As the story unfolds we see Gabriel venturing around the world as he chases down clues to help him identify his attacker whilst protecting those who mean anything to him. A great romp that will have you on the edge of your seat!
Someone from Gabriel Wolfe's past has returned to haunt him... with a vengeance. A paid assassin is killing everyone Gabriel loves and holds dear. His surrogate father, his mentor. His neighbor, his SAS comrades. Now they have kidnapped his fiancee. Gabriel has sworn vengeance. The hunt is on. This is an extremely exciting and faced paced thriller extraordinaire!! I highly recommend!!
When things seem settled down for Gabriel and he and Britta Falskog have gotten engaged, a woman from his past is out for vengeance. She had hired assassin Sasha Beck take out a list of Gabriel's friends before drawing him to where she can kill him herself. What transpires is Gabriel's attempts to break the chain of deaths and discover the name of his nemesis.
I do hate that you bring a man that is supposed to be tough smart lethal but you make him a wimp in this story. He was constantly being bested in thought strategy toughness that should have been his role. I grew very bored and frustrated even to the end. Read a Tanner series that is one tough man.
A good thriller that has Wolfe almost coming apart as a female assassin kills friends and previous comrades. A feeling of desperation made worst as the female he proposed to is taken captive in a move designed to ensue his capture and eventual death. Wolfe needs all of his skills to survive assisted by other agents and his boss.
Gabriel has to be at his very best, his enemy is a someone from his past. Ms Beck is deadlier and meaner than ever. Can Gabriel survive????? A must read,
Gabrielle Wolfe is back and an assassin from his past is intent on eliminating everyone close to him. But who hired her and can he stopped them before they get to his fiance, Britta? Very well written and entertaining read.
I just love these Gabriel Wolfe books. This one has everything. action, twists and turns and is as usual brilliantly written. A real page turner. Bravo!
Fantastic series of books , couldn't put them down although I tried to save the last few chapters of book 5 as I know book 6 isn't published yet , alas I couldn't. Eager?y awaiting book 6 .
A very interesting storyline with a few twists and turns some predictable if you have read the other books and some not so.Nice that it operates in the real world and isn't fanciful over exagerated.
Another heart racing novel that takes you to the edge. Wolfe is taken to a nightmare world where nothing or nobody he loves is safe, hunted by a psychopath, intent on destroying everything. I couldn’t put this down.
This one kind of missed the mark for me. There were interesting parts, so it’s still 3 stars, but the tone felt a bit off, and Wolfe seemed not especially bright. The ending didn’t feel very satisfying either. It’s my second to least favorite of the series so far. But I will continue on.
I was looking forward to the next chapter of Gabriel Wolfe and I wasn't disappointed I didn't expect the twist in the penultimate chapter what will this lead on to?
It is hard to review this without giving spoilers. So great characters, a lot ( of course ) of action but also some new depths to Gabriel. A great read.
Very exciting and fast moving novel . Very violent but with an excellent plot . Characters are interesting and almost believable , but that’s the point .
