An acquaintance born in a nightmare turns into an engagement that is far from convenient.
Yna has lost her friends, family, and world. She wears the marks of torture on her skin and blames the man who couldn’t save her in time. When the Guardsman who couldn’t save her comes to beg for a favour, she is hesitant, outraged, and refuses. When he tells her that a woman’s life is at stake, she agrees. Marked to blend in with his people, Yna is going to pretend to love a man she resents in order to save his sister from public execution if her secret is discovered. It is a good thing that she used to be in show business.
Entertaining with clean vibes, Veera had one thing flowing through her mind and that is vengeance, poor Ahlgos thought it was time to mend the broken fences but with Veera being angry with him for not saving her on time, he believed those fences might never be mended. This short sci-fi romance was very entertaining and interesting, I enjoy these short but enticing stories, with their captivating storylines.
This is the next installment in the Tales of the Citadel series it starts a little different and then we meet up with some old friends from pervious books. I can't get enough of this series and yes we see are fuzzy little friends but not in the way you expect and only for a brief moment. I love when they are included and since they are now on the third generation, I hope we see them in future books. Another great read Viola Grace.
