“Sometimes we all have to reach our breaking point before we can start to put ourselves back together.”

Beth Hughes is a professional life saver. She works long hours as an emergency room nurse, treating every ailment from the stomach bug to a broken bone to a collapsed lung.

Oliver Hughes is a professional trainer. He works long hours mapping out diets and workouts for some of the NPFL’s top athletes.

But despite how knowledgeable they are in taking care of other people, they barely know how to take care of each other. And when one night of loneliness leads to Beth’s slow destruction, it’s going to take a tremendous amount of grace and forgiveness to put back together what she thinks she destroyed.

Support and encouragement may find them in the least likely of places, but the odds still seem stacked against them. And just as she thinks she’s figured out how to fight for herself and what she wants, Beth is forced to look at the facts. Hope may be blooming, but opportunity comes knocking and Beth and Ollie are left to wonder: can they really revive their marriage before it flatlines?

Hi! I'm Sarah and I'm a real person. I make mistakes, use words I probably shouldn't, have horrible grammar, eat and drink things that are totally unhealthy for me, and still call Jesus my Savior. (Psst! I want my characters to be like that too). I love long walks on the beach (seriously) and would much rather be at home under a cozy blanket reading than be in a room full of people. Well, at least most of the time.

I've been happily married to the absolute coolest man alive since 2007. He makes me laugh every single day, and encourages me in everything I do (even when I cook vegetarian inspired meals). We have a bright and sunshine-y little lady who is nothing short of proof that God still works miracles. She's the light of my life and the source of all my workouts (have you tried chasing a toddler around lately?? One word: Cardio!!!)

I love Jesus and I love to hear feedback from my readers. I have three main goals when I write: first, that people know that Christians are everyday people, making everyday choices and have problems with succeeding in life, just like anyone else. Second, that their story will resonate with you in some way and bring hope to some place of darkness. Lastly, that you will come to realize that God will meet everyone exactly where they are, even if they're broken, hurting, or lost. Because we've all been there...even Jesus.

Happy Reading!!

What happens after the hero and heroine get married? We assume it's all plain sailing as they're deeply in love and nothing major could ever affect their relationship.
This idea is blown wide apart by this book. It opens with the wife, Beth, waking up in a bed with another man. She knows immediately what she has done is wrong and vows never to let herself ybe unfaithful again.
I've always thought that a book about a married couple would be slightly boring and not something that would grip my attention. This novel proved me so wrong. Beth and Ollie are flawed characters who still love each other despite her unfaithfulness. Their commitment to counselling and fighting for each other is moving and has you rooting for them right from the start.
What I loved about this book was that there was no easy fix, a lot of soul searching and the best theme of all - grace.
This is a new author to me and I'm really hoping this series continues (possibly with Logan's brother Drew...)
Highly recommended.

True life struggles! It is encouraging to see something that isn't fixed in an instant and how real the emotions are as you walk through trouble with your spouse!

Amazing! Flatlines can be read independently or with the previous book in the series "Sidelines". The two main characters Ollie and Beth are everyday people who have to deal with a bad mistakes that ultimately are ending their marriage. Can they be redeemed? You should read this wonderful story and find out.
