Growing up on the embattled Bryn Mawr Estate in South Wales, all Gemma sees are burglaries and boredom, as she holds onto times when happiness wasn't so hard to find. But when the legendary Cowgirl arrives abruptly in Gemma's life, it turns out they both have a mission on their hands. It's been a long time since anyone on the Bryn Mawr Estate ever saw a cow. But they're about to get a lot closer to home.
G. R. Gemin was born in Cardiff, South Wales, of Italian parentage, and lives in London. He spends much of his non-writing time listening to a variety of music, from Jimmy Smith to Giuseppe Verdi, with whom he is particularly obsessed. He speaks enough Italian to order ice cream, cake, or both.
I really enjoyed reading this book. When you think of Wales you often think of mountains, green fields and choirs. This story tells you about town life, the importance and struggles of Agrictulture/Farm Life and the positive effects of mixing the 2 together. It teaches you not to judge a person on other people’s opinions, but to take the time to get to know them and make your decision. As someone who is interested in Care Farming, I really enjoyed this book. Its also not too long.
