A dear and trusted friend gave me this book for Christmas. “It shaped much of how I’ve built my family culture,” she said, a family culture that I have known to be full of beauty, intentionality, discipline, and grace. I can see now why she has drawn so much from this book over the years. Keep Climbing presents an eloquent but challenging view of the Christian’s walk of faith. I was encouraged, edified, and inspired as I read of Gail and her husband’s climb to the Strela Pass and the observations she made of its connections to the “climb” of the Christian life.
This book is a must read. I didn't want to move on to reading another book until I was finished with reading this book. It is a spiritual journey about life that anyone can relate to.
The question of life purpose and its description in the book was thought-provoking for me. Looking at the climb of life, comfort does not deliver nor lead to discovery. The challenges, pain and determination required in the climb is evidence of our need to stretch every day and be captivated by our innate ability and potential to be more than we can think or imagine.
