Flora can't sleep. 'No blanket, ' she says. And so Mum and Dad and the whole Rabbit-Bunn family begin the long search for Flora's special carrot blanket. This story is perfect for reading at bedtime

This book would be good to use in the classroom to show a common problem and how to work through it. It also teaches helping others and empathy toward their feelings, The illustrations are great and add to the storytelling.
Appropriate Grade Level: -Pre-K through Kindergarten
Original Summary: -This book is about a little baby rabbit named Flora who does not want to go to sleep without her blanket. Her brothers and sisters offer her their blankets, but she only wants her own, so the whole family goes on a hunt throughout the night to find it. Eventually, Flora falls asleep mid-hunt, and when her parents lay her down in their bed to go to sleep, her dad finds the blanket under his pillow.
Original Review: -This book is has a short and simple story that is comforting and relatable to young children (attachment to material objects, such as a teddy bear or blanket). The illustrations are very cute and they depict a loving family. I think this story would be good to send home to parents to read at bedtime.
Possible In-Class Use: -This book would work well for a whole-group read aloud since the story is short and easy to follow. A fun activity following the book would be for each student to draw a picture of one item they love a lot, like Flora loves her blanket. These drawings could be hung on the wall, and the actual items could be brought in for show and tell one day as well.
I found the book to be a little dull, but I still enjoyed it. This would be a great social and emotional book to read to young children. It would be beneficial to read this book to young children because they might also have an object that makes them feel safe, therefore they can connect to this character. I think it would be more meaningful if Flora went to sleep without her blanket and then found it in the morning.
This is such a sweet book. In this book, Flora loses her special blanket and can not seem to fall asleep. Everyone around her wants to help and offers their own blankets, but Flora wants her own. I think that this would be a good book to read in a classroom to have students think about something special to them. We could even lead into a show and tell day
Flora can’t fall asleep without her blanket. One night it’s time for bed and although everyone else is able to find their blanket and lays down in bed, Flora can’t find hers. Everyone gets up to help her look, knowing that they need to help Flora find her own blanket before she will lay down to sleep.
I read this one for Blanket Storytime, I definitely thought it was too long for the 2s and 3s but I did read it in my preschool and some liked it. It was a complete success but it wasn't a complete failure either :)
(picture book). This is a story about a bunny who loses her blanket and searches for it with her mom and dad. Good book for a shared reading activity; there are some difficult words that can teach phonic awareness, and the children can predict what happens and how Flora feels.
"Flora's Blanket" is a great book about a little bunny named Flora who loses her favorite blanket. She isn't able to sleep without the blanket so it is a very dire situation. It is a fun time going through the situation with her.
This is a big book that is helpful to use during read-alouds. This book talks about Flora and the search for her blanket. In the book, we see Flora and her family looking everywhere for her blanket. This book shows us family structures by showing us Flora's family.
I used this story for a bunnies and nighttime-themed bilingual story time program. This year's summer reading program theme is Dream Big!, which features nocturnal animals, so it was fitting to do bunnies and nighttime to advertise the program to my story time parents/caregivers who may not have already known about it.
In this story, Flora the Bunny can't go to sleep because she can't find her blanket. She and her family look everywhere for it until they find it in her parents' bed.
We've all been there. Your son or daughter has lost his favorite animal or blanket and then bed time is the normal bed time! Flora can't sleep without her blanket. Her kind sisters and brothers offer theirs, but none will do unless it's her!
Flora the baby rabbit can't go to sleep without her blanket. She is offered all manner of solutions and turns down every one with a "no" (giving the opportunity for some participation).
I felt like this was a cute book. I really enjoyed the cute pictures. I felt it would be a good easy reader and that it was relatable for children in preschool. It's a cute read aloud.
