Just no...
Apart from the few discussion questions at the end, I would say this reader's guide added nothing of substance to my reading of J.D. Salinger's The Catcher in the Rye. Like most people, I went in expecting an in-depth analysis of one of the most iconic voices of 1950s American literature; the rebellious and angsty Holden Caulfield and his journey through New York City. Instead, I got a boring summary of each chapter...
Disappointing endeavor, but hey, maybe highschool students who did not actually read the novel will find this somewhat useful? I have no clue. Also, don't waste time on reader guides, kids. Read the damn book!

It’s missing out many details and doesn’t really explain what I’m curious about. I’d say read the goddamn book, it’s short enough and speaks for itself.

Not what I was looking for.
As I'm not a native English-speaker I know I miss a lot when I read a classic. I was hoping this study would help me unlock the secrets of "The Catcher in the Rye".
I was disappointed.
This book is little more than a homework essay on Salinger's novel. Most of the book is just synopsis of the chapters. I think it needed a little more in-depth analysis.
As I'm not a native English-speaker I know I miss a lot when I read a classic. I was hoping this study would help me unlock the secrets of "The Catcher in the Rye".
