Samantha is having a bad day. She's just lost her job and is spending yet another Valentine's Day alone. After passing out on her couch, she awakens in a harem in the loveliest place in the world...only to find it's another world entirely. To make matters worse, it's her birthday and she knows she's not getting anything. As a matter of fact, she's a present for someone else...an alien king with his own birthday plans.
Sherri King lives in the American Midwest with her husband, artist and illustrator Darrell King. Hailed by industry officials as an e-pub phenomenon, Sherri is the author of critically acclaimed series The Horde Wars and Sterling Files, as well as the horror lit-erotica, Venereus.
Samantha Gaines is planning on spending Valentine's Day by being a couch potato and losing herself in a good movie. When she is suddenly transported to a strange planet, she doesn't know if she is trapped in ancient Egypt or a Sheik's Harem. She realises she is stuck in an oppulent harem and is surrounded by many women from different planets in the universe. All are there for the King's pleasure. All are anxious to be picked for the celebration of the King's birthday and hope that the King will pick one of them for his pleasure. Samantha is not impressed. Furious that she has been taken against her will, she fights her captors, but knowing she has no choice decides to submit...but do what she must to NOT get the King's attention. When she first sees the King she is immediately attracted to him. Long black hair-almost to his knees- sherry colored eyes and tall and well-built (in more ways that one...lol) she is mesmorized by him, and to be perfectly honest...I was too...lol. He is not only the sexiest man she has ever seen, he is really cares about his people. When the king (you don't find out his name until the end) spots Samantha he is immediately smitten with her spunk and passionate nature. The relationship that developed between them intriguing to watch. Their love and passion for one another was buring off of the pages...whew! I loved this book! Sherri writes the best heroes. They are so sexy, strong-willed, have a wicked sense of humor and know how to PLEASE their mate...sigh. My only gripe is like much romantica the stories are too short, and it is in E-Book forum only. I would have liked to have read more about Samantha's new homeland (it was truly a beautiful place to be) If you are offended by dirty words and some HOT sex, this book is not for you.
This is one hot 88-page tale. Lisa rec'd it to me and of course, I was intrigued, and immediately Whispernetted it to work off a new gift card.
I wasn't disappointed! A twist on a time-travel story, this is space-travel. Sam, a redhead (love redheads), has drunk a lonely Valentine's Day away, and awakes the next morning in what looks like a women's harem in a completely different world.
She has arrived on the king's birthday and she is one of three new 'Beloved One's to be added to the Master's Collection and she is 'his Jewel'.
Check my tags - there is a lot of sexin' in 88 pages, but there was still a mf HEA story. I agree with everyone else's review that it could definitely been longer, but what an introduction to this writer.
Thanks, Lisa - a Squishtacular Recommendation! A ReRead!
I remember reading this book and i found it entertaining. I like concepts like this being capture then fall in love. it was a new twist though waking up on another planet i'm use to waking up in a different time period. Still a good read
Loved it. It was far too short, but the story was so great the description of the aliens and the different world was super and not so entailed that it was boring and the sex was kinky awesome and there was plenty of it. I'm glad I stumbled upon the author.
100% fantasy! What (average) woman wouldn't love to escape to an alien world as welcoming as the one in this book?! And the "quirks" that come with it?
And, wow, it was published in 2003, no less--must be during the heyday of romantica.
Alien abduction fantasy with lots of pretty sparkly jewelry and over-the-top aliens and sex. I'm not quite sure why these particular aliens look like Egyptian gods, though.
