Bluette Men #2

Ezekiel's Passion

Rate this book
“I’m not looking for a main chick, side chick, wife or baby momma. I’m not even looking for a friend. I’m an eternal bachelor.” Ezekiel lived by those words until one simple word changed his life… “up."

Zora had experienced hurt and disappointment. She was not looking to alter her life to be in a relationship. She was determined that a man would not change her mind but maybe a boy would…

Playboy Bluette has entered the chat and is the next Bluette man to be bitten by the Love bug.

Ezekiel might’ve been raised in the church, but that didn’t stop his heaux tendencies from shining bright like a diamond. He was never disrespectful and didn’t lead anyone on. What you saw was what you got; a good time, good dk and a pat on the back while being sent on your way. Relationships and most definitely marriage were never in the deck of cards for him until he met Zora.

Zora had a traumatic childhood that she was determined not to define her. Despite her home life, she took the opportunity to make a clean break and head off to college ultimately skyrocketing her into her career as a dentist. Now in Houston she is settled into her career and raising her 3 year old son as a single parent. Because of the men that hurt her in life, she’s not looking for a HEA. Her trust in men is non existent and as long as she can get her occasional lay, she’s good with that.

Zora and Zeke are seemingly on the same page after meeting through Blue and Zanetta. They start out as friends after her son takes a liking to him however things eventually escalate. Watching these two fall in love was nice and there were some really special moment littered throughout the story.

I was excited for Zora and Zeke’s story after their introduction in the first book however the first half maybe a bit more of the book was a bit disappointing only because sooo much of their story was revealed in book one so when reading book two it felt like deja vu with some of the same scenes and story elements just from their perspective.

Once new aspects were introduced, it allowed me to enjoy the story more and ended so much better than it began. I think the author could have left a bit more mystery to them and left out details in book one if she planned to revisit them again. The series does read as an overlapping of the three brothers and I don’t mind that at all, I just don’t want to feel like I’m reading the same book over and over again.

Overall I did enjoy these two but Blue and Zanetta still have my heart. I can’t wait to see what’s next with Paxton and his mysterious self. 3.5💫’s

⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is my first read by the author, but I’m jumping into book 1 of this series after this.

I loved 85-90% of this story, that other 10-15% got really bizarre to me. It felt like the author was trying to answer and explain things that weren’t necessary.

Things sorta took this odd dark turn, after telling a such a nice low angst romance for 85% of the book.

Other than that, my interest is peeked with Olivia and Paxton. But first things first, I’ll check out book 1.

Zora x Ezekiel

Bailey West has a way with words. She does something so beautiful with them. Her books are always drenched and soaked in love, with a hint of drama. Realistic drama and a lot of Jesus.

This story was really good. Zora is young and starting a new season in her life. To me, she's like an onion. She had so many layers. Some so good, some very sad and traumatic. She did a super job hiding her trauma. But her heart was so pure.

Then, there's Ezekiel. Man was out here living his best life. Sliding in between legs, then worshiping Sunday morning. He's a preacher's kid and you know what they say about PK's… But the moment he met Zora, he was immediately a different person. We watched him grow and mature so beautifully in the story. For somebody who claims to be an "eternal bachelor" he fell pretty quickly for Zora.

One thing I will say that was a little far fetched was the part about reconciliation. It happened too quickly IMO. There was too much that happened for it to have gone so smoothly and quickly. Although there was healing, I was expecting a little counseling or therapy. But this was a great read. I love the love, the family aspect in this story and how she incorporated Jesus in it. Definitely recommend.

Yooooooo Brother Ezekial is That Dude!!!!!!! Zora is That Chick!!!!!! BJ is The Truth!!!!!

Ezekial aka Zeke wasn't looking for no permanent relationship, he was happy with his single status in fact he wore it as a badge of honor. Not that he wasn't ecstatic for his big brother Roman marrying his Zanetta who he affectionately calls Lil Sis, it's just being with one woman wasn't in the cards for him. Until he was at Zanetta's house with his two brothers and in walks Zora and BJ, BJ instantly walks up to him and says one word, "Up" and that was it, Zeke never questioned it he reached down and lifted him up and put him on his lap, Zeke's been hooked on BJ ever since.

Zora comes from a lot of pain and anguish but she's a fighter. You knew something happened to her but you didn't know what, her story begins to reveal the devastation that transpired in her life and her will to fight and overcome it all, not just for her but for her son. Now that she finds herself a single parent it is more imperative than ever that Zora makes it so that she can take care of her baby boy. What Zora was not looking for was a relationship and certainly not with a church boy.

Zeke, Zora and BJ go on a God Ordained whirlwind of finding healing, joy, peace, unconditional love, reconciliation and family. This was such an emotional read because BJ was God's catalyst to set all of these things in motion.

Another fantastic read by author Bailey West. I definitely look forward to reading the last book of the Bluette Men's series "Paxton's Peace" and I can already tell this is going to be just as emotional as his brother's books.

Well Until My Next Review....Ciao!

4.5 Stars!

The Zeke, Zora, BJ bubble was one of joy, pain and restoration! This story was truly awesome and a great follow up to the first story in this series. I am looking forward to finishing the series with Paxton's story.

Now, back to Zeke and Zora...... Zora was used to running and tried to continue her running until it lead her straight to Zeke. Zeke wasn't a runner, but her didn't find anyone or anything that made him want to stay in one place too long, until he did. The glue of this whole unit was packaged in the body of a little 3, soon to be 4-year old by the name of BJ.

All in all, they were everything that you'd imagined a family who has fought to be together would be. Zora was the 'good girl' that we saw in Netta and Zeke was definitely no Roman, but they were perfect for each other. Most importantly, Zeke helped Zora find her way back to her faith in God. They wrote and played the rules to suit their needs and did so on their own terms. That's what made this story totally worth the read.

Bailey does it again! The story of Ezekiel and Zora was weighty. It was emotionally draining but I could not put it down. BJ was adorable and I loved the nickname Peanut. The characters were relatable. I had so many questions about Zora's history. I was right about most of them but the story was well written. Growing up in church, this is so believable. As this is the first set of books written by West, I would love to see some of these characters show up in her other works so we can keep in touch with them. The epilogue to Paxton's story already has my jaw dropped. I hate to see this story end again like the first book. Bailey West is my new best friend, lol! I am going to be binge reading for a minute it appears.

I just reread this with my bookclub...all the feels. I couldn't stop crying. I love Zeke and BJ reminds me of another little guy. My heart is full. All of the characters worked. I can read this story again and again!

This is the third book that I’ve read by Bailey West , this week, and all I can say is she is an awesome writer. Ezekiel’s Passion is the second book in the Bluette Men series.

Meeting Ezekiel and Zora in book1 I was really looking forward to seeing how these two throw caution to wind individuals were every going to get together. Well in order not to give anything away, I just want say the passion was hot but the many layers to this story were amazing. I stayed up all night reading, It was so good I didn’t want to put it down You wont be disappointed.

This is the 2nd book in the series. I really enjoyed reading Zora's story. I love the bond Zeke had with BJ. I really love the illustration of the Wizard of Oz. These Bluette Men are my kind of men. The author has done a great job with writing this book.

Ezekiel Bluette is a drummer that loves family, music and women. Up until now, he has vowed to never get married or date a woman with a child. But, all of that changed when he met Dr.Zora, dentist, single mother and the best friend to his sister-in-law Nette. Now, life has taken on a new meaning for this playboy.

Zora’s childhood was very checkered and she couldn’t wait to escape it. Columbia University bound, she finds a way to make a way, and once again...she’s alone raising a young son. An opportunity is presented and a new life begins, but what she didn’t expect was to fall in love.

Watching the courtship between Zeke and Zora was so fluid, that I read it all in one day. The positive vibes are so infectious, and will make you want to fall in love with love.

Family is another theme that flows throughout this book. Brotherhood, sisterhood, my Zeke, and Te Te will constantly make you smile.

I highly recommend this 💎💎💎💎💎book and series by @authorbaileywest.

Loving these Bluette Men. Zeke and Zora's story was very intense. I was looking forward to her back story and I am still crying. "Don't kill my mama. She is not your mama ". WOW!😱. After all she went thru with men, Zeke was perfect for her. That Lil man, BJ, loved him. Now on to Pax's story.

This review is from: Ezekiel's Passion: Bluette Men Series Book Two (Kindle Edition)
This story I'd been anticipating since I read the first book by Bailey West. The first book was so amazing. I was sure the second would live up to my hyped enthusiasm. Might I add, that I was correct. And I'm patting myself on the back for acing this one. Hollah!!! This story was Ezekiel's story, and yes he did see a wheel.. His wheel ran by faith in God.. But wait... before you start shutting down, thinking that this is a holier than thou story.. Hang on and just listen... Although this story had a spiritual undertone, it was a story about a man finding the love in a good woman. Ezekiel was able to discover that even a church man could still have passion and find his true love. And yes, there are tastefully sensual sexual scenes. So let's start from the beginning. The story began with Zora at 17 going off to Columbia College in New York City all alone. She left without a trace to have a better life away from her Holier Than Thou Family. Later in the story, some really sad things in her story will be revealed about why she left her family. A few years into her degree program to becoming a dentist, Zora found herself in quite a predicament with her lover, she was pregnant with BJ. And a few years later, Zora was alone again. Then the opportunity to move to Texas brought Zora and Ezekiel together for the first time. During their first encounter, BJ claimed Ezekiel as My Zeke and even a heart as hardened as Ezekiel's could not resist BJ's charm, Ezekiel was a member of the famous musical and accomplished Bluette brothers. Even though Zeke could have any woman, and had bedded more than he could count, he would have never fathomed his heart would be taken by a woman allergic to the church. And Zora would never in a million years imagined she would fall for a church boy.. Once each one gave the other their undivided attention, they each grew in love together with BJ in tow. BJ, my little boo was so much fun.. Bailey West, you did it again!

Magnificent

This book was magnificent. I have fallen in love with the Bluett men, so can't wait to read Paxton's story next. But, this book had me in my feelings. It had me crying tears of joy, tears of empathy, tears of relief, tears of letting go, tears of moving forward, tears of knowing I am worthy to be love, tears of looking forward to my destiny, tears of trusting God and his promises for my life as well as tears from laughing so hard. The reconciliation between Zora and her family just touched me so deeply. I am so glad that Ezekiel orchestrated that meeting for them. Who knew the word "up" could change the lives of Zeke and Zora for the better. I love the love that they shared. The bond that Zeke and BJ developed just warmed my heart because it was so genuine and pure. I loved how he would have one on one honest conversations with BJ, who was so cute, smart, and loveable. The author has quickly become a favorite of mines. The spiritual messages were on point and spoke to me so much. They were awesome as I needed to read and hear them to help me as I'm going through my storms. I am definitely taking those away with me as I move forward in life and on to my destiny. This book was well written and possessed a good story with strong, loveable, and relatable characters. I'm elated to share this book and series with others. I read the author by searching through KU, but I will definitely be adding this series to my book collection.

4.5 ⭐️. First time reading from this author. First off shoutout to BJ for playing wingman between Zora and Zeke. I loved reading about their journey to happiness. Both thought staying single and ready to mingle would keep them from getting hurt again. Once they met, it was instant attraction. Their were moments they tried to sike themselves out but what’s meant to be will always be. My favorite part would have to be the bond between Zeke and BJ. He genuinely cared about that kid to the point he was sad he missed his field trip to the Zoo lol. I loved every minute. I had a feeling that would be the situation with Zora’s mother. Mothers jealous of their daughters can be so dangerous. I’m glad it worked out in the end. This is book 2 of the series. I did start with this first, but doesn’t feel like you’re missing anything from book one. I will be reading the others.

Well just as I knew she would Ms. Bailey came through and left another masterpiece on her journey to her Legacy. I love Zeke and Zora... but add in the adorable BJ and this is a mixture made to warm the hearts and tear the eyes. Zeke's Passion was a perfect title, because these two had an abundance of passion... ohhh the fire they made....Zora said you will go to war... lol..one taste will never be enough!!! loved it. Ms. Baily is a refreshing new voice to add to my catalog of must reads. Zora, Zora, Zora, she was a true ride or die... that scene from the set show was HILARIOUSSSSSSSSSSSS... i am still lol...Zeke said that is why I fools with you!! Ms. Bailey weaves the pieces of love, laughter and loyalty together so smoothly, you hardly feel the repair to the lacerated wounds that hold their fears and failures hostage. She effortlessly shows us how Gods Words have real meaning.... "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds". Sooooo.....Again if you have not been introduced to the Bluette Men... please get your mind right, and your fingers clicking... You can thank me and Ms. Bailey later. (lol)... Well Done once again Ms. Bailey!

I love to see it

Zeke is a man who takes care of business (it seems like all the Bluette men do). I love how he ensured Zora and BJ was taken care of when he was working. I love that he orchestrated the important family meeting to ensure her peace, happiness and maybe closure. Dr Zora Chambers is a woman that has endured a lot from a lot of people who should have loved and protected her, but despite it all she accomplished her dreams, raises her son impeccably well and maintained a great friendship with her sissy Zanetta. This story had a great storyline and again the characters were intriguing. Sometimes it felt choppy with the sentence structure, but I really enjoyed it and I’m looking forward to seeing what Paxton is up to.

WOW. I love how this series is making you feel so many emotions that I never felt before while reading a book!!! Ezekiel and Zora even though it wasn’t that deep, I love them, I love how they had a story and it wasn’t that typical/traditional relationship where like you wait for marriage and the whole other stuff like Netta did. This book thought me so much like rebuilding my relationship with God because even if I’m a sinner, he still loves me and is always there for me. Nobody is perfect and he is the only judge. I feel like I can be myself and still love God. I really appreciate you Bailey West, and the scriptures you put in this book is very strong and relatable. I love you and God bless you ❤️❤️

Awesome book

This is my first read Ms West and this book was truly an awesome read. It covers everything from determination, God, forgiveness, strength, love and family. Just when you think your life is going in one direction God shows you otherwise. He's thought he was going to be a player for life until BJ and Zora came into his life and changed for the better. The you Zora who gave on love and just focused on becoming a doctor and raising her son on her own until Zeke came into the picture. What a great love story. I glad that this author could write a love story without the cheating, drug dealers and disrespected woman!

Superb read!

I am usually not a fan of religious/ church romance. But I am thoroughly entertained and found myself laughing and crying reading your storyline. I did not leave a review on the series first book even tho I enjoyed as much. But I wanted to say thank you for a very well written series so far! This is a very honest review, there are books that you start in the beginning and if doesn't hold your attention you're either moving on the next book or skipping to end, which was what I thought I would be doing with Blue's Beauty, but I didn't. I look forward to Paxton's storyline! BTW I was even more impressed when I realized you wrote the The Nobles series! 👍👍

I love this series. Bailey West is such a great new author. Ms. West had me out here highlighting Roman's sermon on the Wiz. My only critique would be the wrap up of Zora's issues. What she went through would not be wrapped up and resolved with one meditation between her and her family. It's no way my own brother would have sat back and not stepped in to make sure his baby sister was ok. I found that whole piece of the story odd. It was a couple points with her brothers that just weren't really explained. Hopefully the author does a series on her three brothers, I'm curious about their side of the story. Overall, it was a great story and I look forward to reading Paxton story.

Loved it

Ouuuu this a good one. “Daddy please don’t kill my mother..... she is not your mother” well I’ll be damned. Felt like I was there looking back and forth between everyone. I was definitely 15 minuets late returning from my break. I was back reading as soon as sat down for “work” lol. A real page turner. Being a single mom it was relatable. Wasn’t far fetched or total fiction. Zora and Zeke could be real. Lol.
This is my third Bailey West novel this week ( I have a lot of “free time” at work lol) she is easily one of my favorite authors right now. I love the characters in her universe!

The Bluette brothers are men to die for. Ezekiel is hilarious and he fell hard quick. My girl Zora was no fool either, she stuck to her guns and didn’t take no smack from anyone. Zora’s baby boy BJ is the cutest little man you’ll ever read about. He meets Ezekiel and its instant daddy time, the boy just cling to Ezekiel like glue from day one, like it was just meant to be. This story gets five stars right out the box. But don’t read about the Bluette men out of order, you will laugh, cry, and cus. But you will love these books. Great writing Bailey West.

Laaaawwwwwd, my baby BJ. He needs his own show! Lol. I could just imagine him and all the scenes he was in. I love him.

This is book is so real, I don't know where to start. From the relationships, to reconciliation, to struggle to overcome. I loved it!

I love each character. Welllll... Most of 'em. Them Bluette's are my people! I thoroughly enjoyed seeing things through Zora' s eyes.

I need you all to hurry up and read it, so we can talk about this! 😆

So Many Reasons

There are so many reasons to love those Bluette brothers. They are God fearing men that love the Lord, their families, and their friends. They support each other and I love how they are entrepreneurs. I loved how they immediately took BJ in as a Bluette man. They also pick strong, successful helpmates. Ezekiel's story is different from Roman's and you will enjoy it just as much. I can not to get my hands on Paxton's story.

Passion filled

It was great to read Zeke and Zora's story...it filled the blanks left in my mind when I read Blue 's beauty. Lots of passion filled moments make it a page turner but I still came away feeling that it was a little rushed and did not delve so deep into their characters. Maybe I've come to appreciate more fully developed and interweaved series. Awaiting more in Paxton 's peace!

Bluette 2 Review

Absolutely wonderful! Again I laughed, cried got mad and, felt the love of God. I felt such pain and pride for Zora. I loved how God put them together. I know church hurt, grieving and rejection, but thanks be unto God for deliverance. I love how Ms. Bailey ties things together. Outstanding. Can’t wait to read Paxton’s story. Oh and I love the realness. Zora was not anyone’s punk! She could hold her own.

Another one!!

This book was amazing!! I love Zora and Zeke. Their story was so good. It didn't hit me like a ton of bricks like the last two, but that ok. I needed the breather. I have read these books back to back, and I am still grateful!! Now, I'm trying pace myself but I will probably finish Paxton's book before I go to sleep tonight but first I'm going to eat. You know it's a good book when you forgot eating.....

Centered around Zora and Ezekiel's love story. I enjoyed this book in the series. Ezekiel is serious about his relationship with God but also lives life and Zora is scarred by her childhood and chooses to not turn to the life of the church. The book follows Ezekiel as he learns to navigate within a relationship and Zora as she learns to do the same as well as deal with her past issues. It feels like the perfect mix between romance and God. Be warned there is spicy scene throughout the book.
