An amazing experience reading this book by Paramhansa Yogananda! The title itself says a lot about the book - The Divine Romance. The nature of talks is serious, spiritual and also practical. You can realise the essence of yourself only when you realise the importance of yourself. A must-read book for all those who are searching for the answers of some of the most important questions of human life.

This is part of an anthology of collected talks by the beloved Yogi, Paramahansa Yogananda, which includes, The Divine Romance, Man's Eternal Quest and Journey to Self-Realization. They are beyond review. They are what I keep in my own nightstand and what I open during times of trouble. They are what I travel with and what I share with others when authentic spiritual guidance is sought.

These timeless teachings are practical, but wholly genuine. Dear Paramahansa Yogananda is forthright, but loving. He is is eloquent but charming. His grace comes to life in the pages of all three of these treasures. The reader will get out of it what he came for; for any plight, the casual reader can blindly open up to any page and find solace, or encouragement to drop the self-sabotaging bad habits that keep us from the peace and joy we have a right to; the true seeker, whose genuine yearning of the heart will have brought him to these teachings, will find the way to Self-Realization. It is nothing short of a guide to the divine within.

Insightful and full of genuine love and grace. This is one of the few books of teachings I have turned to and found comfort in during times of confusion or distress.
The writing is not obscure or vague in meaning at all; even a person who knows little about religion or esoteric subjects could open to a chapter, understand what is written, and put it to use in their life. :)
Highly recommended.

The Divine Romance: A Seeker's Guide to Inner Happiness

Paramahansa Yogananda's "The Divine Romance" is a compilation of his talks and essays. It delves into the profound concept of finding God, not as an external deity, but as the "neglected reality at the core of our being."

Yogananda's message transcends specific religions, speaking to the human yearning for connection and spiritual fulfillment. Even though the book explores lofty concepts, it offers practical techniques like meditation and self-reflection to cultivate inner peace. Readers praise Yogananda's genuine love and compassion, which shine through his writing, creating a sense of encouragement on the spiritual path.

Being a collection, the book offers a variety of topics, which might feel less structured than a linear narrative. "The Divine Romance" is a valuable resource for:

1. Spiritual Seekers: Those on a path of self-discovery and yearning for a deeper connection with the divine will likely find Yogananda's insights inspiring.
2. Yoga Practitioners: The book complements the physical practice of yoga with its exploration of yoga's philosophical underpinnings.
3. Anyone Seeking Inner Peace: Yogananda's guidance on overcoming daily challenges and finding inner joy can benefit anyone, regardless of religious background.

"The Divine Romance" offers a compelling invitation to explore the vast potential within ourselves. While some readers might find the terminology or lack of structure challenging, Yogananda's warmth, wisdom, and practical tools make it a valuable resource for those seeking a deeper spiritual connection and a more fulfilling life.

The Divine Romance is a treasure trove of spiritual wisdom, offering a collection of Paramahansa Yogananda’s talks and essays that inspire, uplift, and awaken the soul’s longing for the Divine. This second volume in the series continues his profound teachings, covering topics such as divine love, meditation, self-realization, and the practical application of spirituality in daily life.

Yogananda’s words have a rare quality—they do not just inform, they transform. His teachings go beyond intellectual understanding, stirring a deep inner awareness of our connection to God. With a unique blend of devotion, humor, and practical guidance, he makes the highest spiritual truths accessible to seekers of all backgrounds.

What makes this book particularly powerful is its emphasis on the personal relationship between the soul and the Divine. Whether speaking of deep meditation, the power of faith, or the beauty of divine love, Yogananda presents spirituality as a living experience rather than a distant ideal.

For those drawn to the mystical path or already familiar with Yogananda’s teachings, The Divine Romance is an essential read—one that nourishes the heart, mind, and soul in equal measure. Highly recommended for anyone seeking deeper meaning and joy in life.

It is my favourite book.
The description of perfect, joyous, & unconditional love, in the first chapter, proved the most life-changing for me. Also, the chapters on Astral World and Reincarnation are the most interesting and enlightening.
