A fascinating historical analysis of the Ancien Regime and the conditions in France that led to the French Revolution. I liked the inclusion of European and British conditions and how they were similar and different to the conditions in France.

This book is very dense but a classic and worth being read by anyone interested in the real past as can be discovered by real scholarship.
