If you started off the new year with a resolution for getting closer to God or restoring your love for God, then you'll like this book. :) I've certainly enjoyed it immensely, and it was a great way to start off the new year.

I finished this book in less than two weeks (would have finished it sooner had I not gotten sick in the middle of it) and it was really good. It's less than 100 pages, so it's a quick read. He makes so many great points that caused me to stop and ponder before continuing reading. It was a joy to read, and I breezed through the last 50 pages in one day.

One of my favorite quotes from the book:

"He submitted Himself to the most painful and degrading execution men could possibly inflict, just so He could offer His rescue from the kingdom of darkness to the very agents of His suffering. Even today, I feel deep emotion when I consider all that His death on the cross means to me. It might have been me at the foot of that cross, pounding iron nails into His wrists. Even so, He would offer me no less love, no less forgiveness."

What a loving God! ❤

Beautiful, visionary- a reminder of how incredible is the love of God and that this in this life we just experience the smallest taste of knowing God. I found this book reflective, convicting and inspiring. I will definitely read again and will definitely recommend to any believer seeking to grasp the depth, breadth and height of Gods love

Bill Bright's teaching on how to get back into a close relationship with God: chapters include

Remembrance: Reliving Your First Love
Repentance:Removing the Obstacles
Resumption: Rejoining the Path of Obedience
Revival: Rejoicing in the Light
Reward: Resting in the Shade of Eternity

He speaks with certainty that following steps outlined will result in a love that shows itself in better love for God and others.

It worked for him, seems simplistic, the writing is not so compelling. Maybe I need to spend more time with this......

This is Bill Bright's best topic -- his life and example are inspirational! I pray that I can be as single minded about never losing my first love for Jesus as he was. None the less, this particular little book didn't quite capture his passion -- read his biography Amazing Faith.

The book was a decent read. I was amazed that the author had fasted for 40 days. Though Bill Bright is known for his evangelist crusade, for writing books, and phamplets he truly loves the Savior. That obeying God has driven him to a successful life with Christ our Savior. I hope that I can reach such a passionate relationship with the living God and that I will stand at the gates of Heaven and know I have done the work of the Lord.

I have fallen so short in my days on this earth so far that now that I am a Christian I will be able to magnify Gods love through my spiritual rebirth. I will be reading this book again and again to help me keep my First Love ever closer.
