Looking for dry wit, sarcasm and a hint of don't give a..........
Detective Hutton is an eye opener in police centre procedural....great one liners, dry wit and sarcasm thrown in.....3 books in the series and each one is better than then the next, great side characters that bring out he best in Hutton...... Where's the rest of the series? Surely Hutton is not done and dusted, there's too much cynicism in him to end !!!!!!
The third hutton book follows on from the previous two with the troubled detective part of a murder investigation that he's not mentally fit to be part of. This is more of the same but didn't make me throw the kindle down at times like plague of crows did.(still struggle to jog past areas full of crows haha). if you liked the first two then carry on as you should like this.
DS Hutton is still a self-destructive alcoholic and sex addict, but this third book in Lindsay's Hutton series focuses on a somewhat less sensational premise then the previous "Plague of Crows." There is a bit of the supernatural involved here, perhaps borrowing a bit from Lindsay's "Barney Thomson" series. And we finally learn a bit more about Hutton's personal ghosts. The ending sets us up for the next book, with the question of whether Hutton has undergone any long-range healing from his first real romantic encounter of the series. Time will tell ...
This quy is am amazing author. I have loved all his books, his writing is awesome, it's quirky, funny and serious at the same time. Their is always murder and affairs and the main character is always loveable even with his faults. You won't be able to put his books down. Well done Douglas hope there is much more to come.
This is the third book in this series and I read them all wham bam thank you ma'am in a row. I can say without a doubt that I thoroughly enjoyed all of them. They don't have to be read in order but there is an occasional comment about the previous case just so you know.
